It's kind of a trippy sight to see when you're driving by it. It's even more trippy when you get out of your car and stand in the middle of the field among the corn. So take the time to go out into the field and stand with the corn, is what I'm saying. The Midwest is known for producing corn, so it seems appropriate to come across artwork dedicated to corn as we were traveling through Dublin. Dublin has a lot of public art! This is just one of the artworks we saw in this town. I don't know who needs to hear this, but there were a lot of pawpaw trees in a grove adjacent to the sculptures. When we visited in the late fall, the pawpaw trees were bearing fruit and lots of pawpaws had dropped to the ground. If you're into harvesting pawpaws, this would be the place to visit to find them.

It's a good-sized structure that memorializes George M Karrer's blacksmith shop, which historically sat in this space back in the 1800s. It was designed by Brower Hatcher, and has several elements intended to reflect this history, which can be seen as you study the structure. I found it particularly thought provoking when I read that the name, simulation, is emulated by the use of the green and gold framing, with the idea that it is a computer simulation of the workshop. What a neat way to capture a piece of history!

You really can't miss it -- just look for the brick area on the corner. According to Dublin's art website, this piece was inspired by the town water pump that sat in the middle of the intersection in the early 1900s, which served as a source of water and a figurative "water cooler" where the townspeople would meet and catch up. The bronze and stone statues represent that time in Dublin's history.

The Dublin Ohio webpage has some neat historic photos of this bit of inspiration, in addition to photos of the process of creation of the existing art piece, which is very interesting for those who enjoy history or art. The pump finally had to be retired when a motorist hit it - that new fangled invention, the car, was incompatible with the placement. Hopefully, the sculpture, with a location on the sidewalk/small plaza type area will be safer from such a fate!

My friends there is this library which is located beyond the yonder of our good ole Dublin, Ohio just off Hard Road. I don't know how I did not get the memo it exists and is apart of the Columbus Metropolitan Libraries. The Columbus Metropolitan Library system has a pool of branches and I did not notice this one!! The libraries atmosphere is most inviting. Very open and I just love the ambiance. The building is big and spacious but the parking lot is a little funny. When you first come in there's one area to park then there's the library in the middle along with three other wacky ways to park around the library. I came when the library opened at 9 AM this morning the cleaner must have thought I was some crazy chick trying to get in and out of the library but it was truly my first time. I was just trying to find a meeting room but they were taken so fast by other people who requested the rooms. Had I made more time, I would have explored the library in full detail and noticed each section from young adult to adult books. As well as the DVD's/Blu-Ray section. I just like exploring everything when I first visit a library I've never been to. I do have assumptions that this library may have been linked to the Worthington library system before and maybe apart of it. Although I'm not 100% sure if I'm right. The librarians here are really helpful and willing to help you book that room or understand why it was not booked. Help you find the book your looking for and any other question you may have for them. I will surely be coming back here soon! Thanks to the meeting I had here today.

The building is a former home and is quite lovely on its own, and then the council has done a great job organizing their exhibits to complement the building and make it easy to move around. We enjoyed looking at the wide variety of train photos from all around the country, and getting to chat with the artist was nice - he was great with kids too and had a little game for them to find where the photo on his business card was in the gallery.
