It's a good-sized structure that memorializes George M Karrer's blacksmith shop, which historically sat in this space back in the 1800s. It was designed by Brower Hatcher, and has several elements intended to reflect this history, which can be seen as you study the structure. I found it particularly thought provoking when I read that the name, simulation, is emulated by the use of the green and gold framing, with the idea that it is a computer simulation of the workshop. What a neat way to capture a piece of history!

This is a neat sculpture located up on a hill near Riverside Drive in Thaddeus Kosciuszko Park…read more Feather Point was designed by Olga Ziemska, and the plaque located near the trail indicates that the artist was inspired by the shared symbols of the eagle and feathers in the backgrounds of both Thaddeus Kosciuszko, the Revolutionary War hero for whom the park is named, and Bill Moose, the last of the Wyandots to live here. The sculpture itself is made of stainless steel and reclaimed wood from the park, and it makes it very interesting to walk close to the sculpture and look at the patterns.

We have a couple of train fans in our family, so when we heard the latest exhibit at Dublin Arts…read morewas "Train Interpretations" by Frederick Ripley, we decided to stop by. By chance, we lucked out and visited while the artist himself was onsite. The staff were so friendly, greeting us as soon as we stepped inside and advised that the exhibit was set up on the first floor in a loop. The building is a former home and is quite lovely on its own, and then the council has done a great job organizing their exhibits to complement the building and make it easy to move around. We enjoyed looking at the wide variety of train photos from all around the country, and getting to chat with the artist was nice - he was great with kids too and had a little game for them to find where the photo on his business card was in the gallery. Outside, the grounds are beautiful too and the backyard goes down to the river. There's a nice parking lot available outside and admission is free. We will have to watch for future exhibits!

We came across this fun sculpture while participating in a scavenger hunt in historic Dublin. The…read morefrog definitely helped us out, but that's not the only reason for the stars. It is both a neat piece of art and a fun bit of history. It's a very large (for the subject matter) bronze sculpture that is memorializing the Dublin frog jump contest. It was designed by Dale Johnson. The attitude conveyed by the frog gave me a chuckle!
