Had an absolutely wonderful experience! Bella provided a very educational and entertaining…read moreInterpretation painting class. She was very attentive and funny. It was nice to having someone like her to help when needed at every twist and turn while still keeping the learning process light and fun. They also seem to have all sorts of other fascinating classes such as stamp making which looked fun too! Learned something new and got a cool piece of art to show my friends and family.

Terra Gallery is a working gallery that hosts a variety of hands on events listed either on their site or on eventbrite. I didn't spend much time exploring the gallery because I was pretty sure I'd need all of the time for my project, but there were a lot of interesting looking pieces that I will plan to explore more in the future. The space is a little small, but they have made good use of it, and are planning a move across to Bridge Park soon. I was glad I recruited a friend to join, because we were the only two people in the class! It was a fairly laid back event. The instructor had sketched out the details on the canvases before we arrived, and they provided a little instruction card that kind of showed how to build your piece up. As usual with these events, we ended up with two very different finished products, and my friend chose not to add some of the elements to her piece. April helped her take things out as she preferred. Since it was just the two of us, we were chatting and painting and the instructor was working on her own piece while another woman priced pieces in the gallery. They were very friendly and I had a great time!

A family owned custom framer and art gallery,Gallery Art Center has been here for nearly 40-years…read more They specialize in creating amazing showcases for customer's art and collectables which is why I often suggest them for those in need. They also double as a small gallery with some beautiful art, one of the rare sellers of originals outside of the downtown and surrounding neighborhoods. They feature many local and national artists here at their small gallery in the shopping center Reed and Henderson. Susan (I think her name is) is the owner and gives upstanding customer service. You can tell from the start she really cares for doing a high quality job, helping you through the process selecting frames and mattings. She and her team look at framing as if it were an art form itself, often providing more than you expected. A few years ago I had a signed Ted Ginn Jr picture that I thought would benefited from better framing than what my poor skills and cheap drug store frame could provide. I expected something a little better but what came out was amazing. They took my needs seriously and came up with a nice display that augmented my collectable into something worthy of hanging in my home. They take great care in framing anything, from antique maps, fine art, or even a cherished poster. The prices of course vary from style, size, and shape--it can be a little expensive compared to do-it-yourself with an Odd Lots frame, but the result is well worth the expertise you pay for. I've purchased a few small painting and prints here before too. For a small space the art here can be diverse and striking. Featured here my last visit was P. Buckley Moss whose paintings are whimsical landscapes and still lifes, Takmaj and her bloaty beautiful colors of cityscapes, Renee Bovet 's Van Gogh-ish rendering of place, and Laurie VanBalen's awesome Impressionistic oils among other talented artist. Glass art is sold here too. Jewelry found here includes necklaces, wrist bands, and earrings. I did not notice any rings or ankle braces for those wondering, but I think I've seen them here before. I highly recommend this shop if you have valuables, collectables, art or anything of sentimental value you want to hang.

This place is seemingly stuffed to the gills with all kinds of artwork. Art gallery plus gift shop…read moreequals Ellen Sea. Anything from oil paintings, watercolors, engravings, wood carvings, encaustic, hand blown glass, lithographs to mixed media is available. Some famous artists, like Renoir prints, can be seen, but more often than not there are local artists being sold from all over the states, but especially Ohio. Local artists include Robert Brubaker, Art Hedges and JoAnn Warnke, a local Columbus woman who passed away recently in 2007. Many of the artworks are antiques from as far back as the 1800s. Major name gift sellers are sold as well, including Royal Doulton, Lladró and Longaberger. There is an old country kitchen room with kitschy gifts but also Longaberger baskets and china. Ellen Sea does some consignment, but most of the items are acquired by the owners, Lawrence Myers and his wife, Claudia. The goal for the Myers is to sell things at a price that most people can buy A great deal of what they come by is consignment with the people selling the pieces. The Myers do have contributing dealers who do consignment with them, including Don Treux, who makes Amish style furniture.

The environment felt stuffy (not in an elitist way) and honestly the quality of antiques was subpar. I wanted to enjoy this but was not thrilled at what I saw and experienced.
