It's basically a huge room with Van Gogh's artwork splayed on the walls by a projector in an animated form. We enjoyed sitting in different positions to view alternative perspectives. There was also a lot of information about Van Gogh's life and family shared during the experience which was really interesting. Those are the pros. And here are the cons. After seeing some of Van Gogh's artwork in museums and attending other immersive art experiences, there could have been more to it for the price per person. Including fees it was a little over $50 per person which seems high considering we waited in line for our reservation for 30 minutes which was about the same as the loop ran. The prices in the gift shop were also pretty outrageous. Logistically where the building is located is also kind of a mess which isn't the fault of them per say but waiting to safety leave onto Polaris Parkway without a traffic light also added another 30 minutes to our evening plus the waiting for our reservation to start wasn't ideal. Having said all that, my MIL loved it which was the entire point of the evening. I also probably would have had FOMO had we not gone while it was here. I would recommend checking it out, but make sure to leave extra time in your night as well as tempering your expectations a bit.

The permanent collect ranges from antiquity to pr sent (the museum was founded in 1878), and the CMA is host to several exhibits each year. My most recent visit treated me to Wild Earth: JB Blunk and Toshiko Takaezu. Things to know: * The CMA is part of the North American Reciprocal Museum (NARM) Association, a network of 1,470 art museums and galleries that offer reciprocal free entry to members of the museums in the network. Become a member/support your local art museum, especially if they are part of NARM. * The museum has a cafe, so feel free to make a day of your visit. * There are transportation options available to get to the museum, but it is also just a 20 minute walk from downtown. * There is a good deal of well done street art between downtown and the art center.

Did you ever wonder why Westerville remained "dry" until just a few years ago? Not many people are…read moreaware the Prohibition movement began as a moral crusade right here in Ohio. In Oberlin, to be exact, but it moved to Westerville in 1893. Back in the late 19th century, the movement to make alcohol illegal was spawned in our very back yard. It was known as the "Anti-Saloon League" and its headquarters was moved to Westerville, and remained active from 1893 to 1933. National politics was influenced through the printed word and lobbying and eventually, Prohibition was enacted by Constitutional amendment. A truly amazing story. The League bequeathed an important collection of written material to the Westerville Public Library which houses the Anti-Saloon League Museum. It is open to the public Monday through Friday, 9:00am-6:00pm and by appointment. A very cool piece of national history in Westerville!

It's not a huge place, but it's worth your time. Give yourself maybe an hour to soak the whole thing in. The space itself is really open. They have security standing around as well. Probably because someone had used a gun to shoot and ruin some of the art work a few years ago. They have a coat check as well. I think because of safety. And I totally understand that. There is also a movie theatre in here for specific showings and a little cafe that is ever so popular, Heirloom. Anyway, thankful for free art galleries! It's a fun thing to do on campus.

We understand that it's an interactive experience for all so we didn't mind waiting. But it did slow down a bit of our excitement to solve a puzzle. It is an homage to Skankland, Columbus' first reggae bar, and a nod to Roots Records, Columbus' first and only reggae focused record shop. Both of these businesses are gone now, which is what makes this bar so very cool. The atmosphere is joyous and just very special. The drinks are all very good, and they have a really good Jamaican menu featuring jerked chicken, ox tail and vegetarian pies. All delicious. There is a $5 admission fee if you are not a Columbus Museum of Art member, but I renewed our membership because this place made it so worth it. You might be able to get a free pass through the Columbus Metropolitan Library too, but I seriously recommend getting a CMA annual membership to support great art like this.

Attended a reception at the Columbus Museum of Art at The Pizzuti during a conference last week…read more The current museum exhibition (Las Vegas Ikebana: Maren Hassinger and Senga Nengudi) showcased some interesting works, including several dance-related pieces, a seesaw titled "See-See Riders", Sadness be Gone! Forever (ink on paper), and a video focusing on the color green. The setup of the displays made the rooms feel bare, but it was good for a quick walkthrough. I was actually more captivated by the lovely sculptures outside, surrounding the building. There were about 4 or 5 that I was able to check out while I was there (Jim Hodges' artwork is particularly unique and impressive).

They have revolving exhibits ranging from the obscure to famous well-known artists. There is almost always something interesting to see. The last exhibit I saw had over 170 photographs and images packed into their relatively small accomidations. There is always something interesting to see at the Ross Art Museum. Hours are a bit odd: Tues, Weds, Friday (10am - 5pm) Thursday (10am - 9pm) Sundays (1-5pm)
