Designed by the Delaware Mosaics team of Lynda Elias and Virginia Corwin, the project also involved the community as volunteers during the installation. In addition to the brightly colored tiles and mirrors, the piece is anchored by cement panels as the base. It is a very fun piece that we enjoyed viewing, and it is well matched to its location.

This is a very intriguing limestone sculpture that is located in the Imagination Garden outside of…read morethe Orange Branch of the Delaware County Library. It was created by Dale Johnson. You'll want to be sure to walk around all sides of the sculpture, as there are a lot of little details. It has a spine like a book, with its title inscribed. The front and the back of the piece are extremely active - my kid and I had a good time identifying as many characters and figures as we could, such as an alien, leprechauns, dogs, and snakes (serpents?). It's a very engaging piece, very well suited for a children's garden at a library, and we quite enjoyed viewing it.

This is a neat sculpture located up on a hill near Riverside Drive in Thaddeus Kosciuszko Park…read more Feather Point was designed by Olga Ziemska, and the plaque located near the trail indicates that the artist was inspired by the shared symbols of the eagle and feathers in the backgrounds of both Thaddeus Kosciuszko, the Revolutionary War hero for whom the park is named, and Bill Moose, the last of the Wyandots to live here. The sculpture itself is made of stainless steel and reclaimed wood from the park, and it makes it very interesting to walk close to the sculpture and look at the patterns.

To Life is a sculpture located in the parking lot of the Westerville Sports Complex. Made of…read morestainless steel, it is a large swooping figure designed by Cobert C. Collins. The description on the plaque is beautiful, stating that its intention is to illustrate how everyone is connected and connected with the Earth. It seems to have its arms open, and combined with the plaque inscription, creates a feeling of openness and joy. Very nice piece!

This is a really wonderful wind sculpture designed by Robert S. Mullins. It spins gently in the…read morewind and appears to be made mainly of metal, with blue tips on the points. It is located in the Polaris Founder's Park, where it forms a wonderful focal point, set up on a hill behind a waterfall. It's visible from the passing highway, which is actually what drew my eye to this area, since the park is mainly hidden from view until you approach from the parking lot. This is a neat area to visit.

The Chase sculpture is a great fit for its location near the shelterhouse at the Westerville Sports…read moreComplex. It depicts three children running around with a soccer ball. It was designed by Michael Tizzano and shows the fun and lightheartedness of the kids enjoying themselves as they play, something which is hopefully echoed on the nearby fields when really in use.

This mosaic is located on the exterior of the Northstar Cafe in uptown Westerville. It is a…read morebeautiful rendition of Mount Fuji, in which both the mountain and its reflection are depicted. It is very calming, with its blues, grays, greens, and whites. It was also interesting to learn about the mosaic's history - it is a nod to the original owner of the space, a tea house and Shinto shrine that were there since the late 1950s/early 1960s. The mosaic was originally located inside of the tea house and was added to the exterior as part of the renovation/redevelopment into the current Northstar Cafe. It's really wonderful that it was both saved and moved to the exterior so that everyone can easily enjoy it when strolling around town. Wonderful piece!

This piece is an intriguing blend of art and the natural world. A bronze sculpture of tree bark…read moresits in a circle at the base of a red oak tree, which has been planted inside of it. As the tree grows, the piece evolves. I am not certain how the piece will affect the tree as it gets larger, but as you can see, it is thought-provoking, as I wondered about the balance between art and nature. Additional smaller pieces are casted into the bronze section, as well. Tree of Life, Future Tense was designed by Mary Jo Bole.
