During my visit today I realized I never made a review for Sangini. I love it here. I have been using their services since early 2018 when I moved to Waterbury which is where I met them. Now I live in new haven and use their Milford location. (They have two locations) This family owned wax studio is by far the BEST place for waxing/threading/massages etc not only is this entire family as sweet as honey but they are lightening fast, gentle and absolute perfectionist. They have mastered what they do. I will never have anything negative to say about them. They keep me feeling beautiful, they know their regulars by name and always take great care of you. Found this business on yelp & I was impressed by their reviews. I called to see if I needed an appointment but they said a walk-in would be fine. The business looks nice & they are well organized. As crazy as it sounds I was highly impressed by the fact that I was asked how I want my eyebrows & they did them perfectly once I sat in the chair. I know it sounds crazy but everywhere I go I have to tell them (bc they never ask) & they still do whatever they want. I got my eyebrows & lip down & it took maybe 10mins! That's unheard of for me because I have thick eyebrows & one has a lazy arch so it's harder to shape them evenly. Soon as I walked out I recommended them to two people. I went here today for the first time. Very easy to make an appointment plus they take walk ins. Very clean. The service I got was a Brazilian. I arrived a few minutes early and they took me right away. Jaime did my service and she immediately put me at ease and it did not feel awkward at all. She kept checking to make sure I was ok during the service. It was very quick yet completely thorough. Really the best threading place around. Very rarely is there a wait. I always ask for the owner or one of the owners daughters. Ive only ever had my eyebrows threaded there, not any other of their services but I noticed that their selection waxing room gets a lot of custom. Anytime that I am in town and need a wax, I come to this studio! First of all, everyone there is so welcoming, friendly and accommodating to your schedule. They request that you call ahead of time in order to avoid any wait time, but if you walk in, it is usually only about a 5-10 minute wait to be seen. I believe they are most known for their eyebrow threading treatment, but I went for a wax and was very happy with the service. The rooms are very clean and neat, which is a big plus! The woman doing the waxing makes her clients feel very comfortable. I can be quite chatty during a wax and she was attentive and talking with me the entire time -- I really appreciated it! One thing to know is that they do not accept credit card tips so be prepared with cash on you! Usually they have an ATM at the salon but right now it is out of order. While no Brazilian wax is pain-free, this establishment made it as fast and as comfortable as possible. I was greeted with a warm friendly smile and by name. What stands out to me most is that after an experience elsewhere years ago there were remaining hairs that I had to tweeze on my own. That is not the case after being treated by Sangini. There is nothing left for me to take care of. She did a perfect job! Also for people that may judge the location the way I was a bit concerned, Sangini is not located in those run down plaza's close to that area ...they are in a new, clean & modern building. A note to the facility I "think" I left without tipping . It dawned on me after I left that there was not a tip line on the credit card receipt, I just signed quickly & went on my way. Do not go! Unless you want to leave with cuts on your forehead from the threading. I heard that sangita was the person to see and I was stupid enough to see the other lady. It was terrible. I moved to New Haven about a year ago for my job and was afraid I wouldn't be able to find anyone for threading -- I go to Sangita and she is literally amazing! She remembered me after the first time and knows exactly how to shape my brows without being too thin (the pencil thin look is NOT a good look for me )... I've also gone for body waxing -- Sangita is quick, professional and courteous. She makes the appropriate amount of small talk that is acceptable when someone is all up in your junk. I went here to Sangini after getting a recommendation from my hairdresser. When I walked in on a late Wednesday afternoon I was greeted warmly right away. I signed in and waited. Another client told me to either have the owner or her sister do my brows, reason being I had surgery across my brow and I need and expert to thread them. I was not disappointed they look great. Excellent service. I always get threading done in New York City, where the prices are actually reasonable. Sangini's is just as reasonable as the parlors in NYC; you can get your eyebrows and upper lip done for $17. The lady who threaded me was quite friendly, but a little heavy-handed which is why I deducted a star. I appreciated that she was apologetic about it, though. What is nice is that they have "specialists" for various areas of the face. Different ladies threaded my brows and my upper lips. Don't forget to check in on Yelp if it is your first time. I'd never gotten my eyebrows "done" (threaded, waxed, plucked, burned, etc) but I've been a tad unhappy with my brow shape as they have no arch whatsoever. I did some research on eyebrow removal methods and decided threaded sounded like my best option. I found this place based on reviews and although I was a little hesitant at first (I have fairly sparse brows and didn't want them looking any more non-existent than they already are) I am so so SO glad I found this place! It was quick, fairly painless, cheap, and somehow the lady turned my pitiful straight lines into beautiful, arched-by-the-gods-themselves brows! No joke the best $14 I've ever spent. I'm going to try to keep up the shape as long as I can until laziness overcomes me, and then I'll be back! A note: they only do women's brows here. This is the ONLY place I will go to get my eyebrows threaded. (Never experienced threading before? They twist thread between their fingers and then use the twisted thread to pull out the hair.) My friend brought me once and now I am hooked. This technique gives a much more precise shaping to your eyebrows and doesn't make you all pink like waxing does. I think that it does hurt more, though. You don't even have to tell the threading ladies at Sangini what you want them to do, they just do an amazing job. I have never had a bad experience. It is always clean and everyone is friendly. It is women only, so leave your men at home! read more
