My family and I were visiting the area and my dad needed to get adjusted. I found these guys on yelp and decided to give it a try because of the great reviews and the added incentive of the discount. I called at 11am to make a 3:45pm appointment for my dad. The woman on the phone was friendly and helpful in answering my questions. One of them being if I could apply my yelp account discount to my father, who does not yelp. She checked with her management and let me know that yes, they could and I didn't need to be there. When I spoke to my dad afterwards he couldn't stop raving on how professional and knowledgeable the chiropractor was. The practitioner was also able to refer my dad to two other colleagues he attended school with that practice where my dad lives. My dad was so stoked because the doctor also taught him some new stuff about his body + his brain/vocal chords (which my dad has seen many specialists for) that could be helpful with his future treatments. I confess that I've never been to another chiropractic office, but I'm glad I went to this one! I'm a mom of an almost-11 month old and I'm on my laptop a lot. This causes neck pain, period - but this morning, as I was waking up, I "popped" my neck, thinking it would pop and I'd have a normal day. No. That did not happen. Thinking I was just being spoiled (and taking advantage of their $12 first-time patient rate), I called my babysitter to come over and then drove to Denton's Triangle Mall. I went inside and told him what was hurting and he seemed to know exactly what my neck's issue was (torticollis / wry neck) before even having me go into the therapy room (or whatever it's called). I'm in there like every week in a half because I never listen to her advice :P I am trying, though! It's hard, and years of poor posture is hard to break...but I'm trying. Dr. Darner is one of the smartest and most down to earth people I have ever met. He takes the time to listen to you and your concerns. He gives you easy to understand explanations for your conditions and simple solutions. He is not quick to jump on the train of most chiropractors that you must come in 3-4 times a week for 3 years. He also is not quick to jump right to medication, pain management or surgery. He believes in taking his time and finding the core issue and correcting that so that all of the symptoms can subside. He understands "real life schedules" and "real life finances" which I am grateful for! Some doctors judge you when you say you can't afford a treatment that costs an arm and leg. Short version: Dr. Ebell is amazing! He's versed in current best practices, conscientious of the types of adjustment options his patients prefer, works with insurance and other medical professionals, gives great adjustments, and overall kicks butt - in a good way! Long version/back story: I moved to Denton from San Diego CA a little over a year ago. I had some trouble finding other services in this area (e.g., esthetician, hair stylist, Trader Joe's... Still sad there's no Trader Joe's, but I digress..., etc.). I have back problems, ribs that pop out, plus shoulder issues, and a reverse curve in my neck - in other words, my back is WHACK! I have seen 4 different chiropractors before finding one that could adjust me right, plus I get nervous about medical and chiro issues, so you can probably imagine my concerns of whether I'd be able to find a good chiropractor here. I walked into Dr. Ebell's office one day on a whim - the office is near where I live and shop, and they were open, and I was hurting... bad. So I crossed my fingers and went in. He did an evaluation and gave me an adjustment. He was spot on in identifying my issues with a quick touch. He asked if I prefer drop table or side/twist for my hips. He gave me an excellent adjustment and when I stood up to walk, I felt like I was being propelled forward, it was so much easier to walk!! It's like this every time I go! He told me about different treatment options for my ribs and neck, informed me that the traction unit prescribed by my last doc is actually out of date and now known to be contra-indicated to my particular issue, and he worked with my insurance to get me the right neck curve adjustment apparatus, which also came with a TON of extras (a fantastic pillow that helps with alignment, a TENS unit, a back and neck brace, etc.) - Holy Crap, Christmas came early! He referred me for an MRI and to a pain center, and worked with both facilities and my insurance to ensure I wasn't paying a fortune. I also had a massage at Affordable Chiropractic and it was fantastic! I'll schedule more. Dr. Ebell....my hero and savior. I've been coming to him for a few month now. At first visit I could barely hold my head up and was surviving on pills and heating pads. After the first visit I could sleep without pain or discomfort. I remember it well cause I almost cried of happiness. Love this place! Dr. Garcia totally saved my leg! I had been living with severe leg pain that was pretty much affecting my whole right side. I couldn't walk for more than a few minutes at a time the pain would become so unbearable. I finally caved and came here. Before I always believed that chiropractic care was nonsense. After the first appointment I had immediate relief, but the pain was back the next day. I ended up getting a package. At first I went in every day for adjustments, then every other day, then a few times a week, then once a week, then every other week, and now I go in once a month or so for an adjustment. Dr. Ebell is the best chiropractor I have ever been too. I didn't realize the gravity of not having the curve in my neck. I struggled with asthma (since birth) and psoriasis (since teens).
