We needed the carpets stretched on our second floor. They weren't put in right in the first place and the carpets were wrinkling up pretty badly. I called Sanford Carpet and Flooring and they sent a guy out the next day. He arrived with a decal "Carpet Man" on his car. He did real miracle work on the carpet, and got it completely straightened out. This isn't the first time I dealt with this company. A few years ago we purchased a commercial carpet from them. Bought carpet by Mohawk it looked great on the "board" in store. Got it home and it just wasn't to my liking (I panicked!!). Called Sandy/Lawrence and they said to bring it back no problem (WOW). I picked out another Mohawk carpet (a bit nicer) paid the difference. Now I have the carpet that I love (so nice and plush). Thank you so much for a great buying experience. First Sandy one of the owner's is wonderful. She came out and gave me an estimate and I went three time changing from one tile to another and finally made a choice. The whole time she was helpful and understanding. The install was on time and the job looks great! Installer's were clean and supervision was spot on. I will be using them again soon. I was looking to get carpet (in a rush) and came into Sanford carpet after several recommendations from neighbors on the next door app. I was a little overwhelmed by all the choices, but Lynn was so helpful and honest. The owner was also there and spoke to me briefly and was more than willing to work with me with short time constraints. Lynn even called me after work hours to confirm scheduling and fitting me in so my availability would work with theirs. I haven't had the carpet installed yet, but so far they have been amazing to work with and I'm looking forward to the final result. I will update review after installation, but have to say the customer service was exceptional!! read more

We hired Sanford Carpet on 10/13/17 to transfer a stained piece of carpet from our master bedroom to the master bedroom closet and take a similarly sized piece of carpet from the closet and use it to replace the stained area. They completely shredded the stained piece so it couldn't be transferred to the closet where they obtained the piece of carpet to replace the stained area, and the piece they took from the closet was never walked on so the color didn't match the color of the carpet where the stain occurred because the stain was in a high traffic area. So now we have a 16" x 14" piece of carpet in our master bedroom that is much lighter in color than the rest of the carpet in the surrounding area. and we have an 18" x 15" area in our closet where this is no carpet. When I expressed my extreme dissatisfaction with their work, one of the guys said I could put dirt in the carpet and walk on it with dirty shoes and it will eventually blend in. When I asked why I now have no carpet in an area in my closet I was told that's why they told me to pick an inconspicuous spot. When I asked why he didn't simply transfer the stained piece to the closet he said because he shredded it in the process of removing it. My wife had hired Sanford Carpet and wasn't home when they arrived to "fix" our stain problem. When she saw the horrible job she called the owner/manager to complain and was told there was nothing they could do and that nothing like that had ever happened to them before. We decided to put a "stop payment" on the check but they cashed it that same day. They charged me $150 for the privilege of ruining my carpet and now I have to pay $4,000 to re-carpet the bedroom and closet. I will never do business with Sanford Carpet again and I will tell all my friends and family to avoid them as well. Horrible, Horrible Experience! read more

Disappointed. Really wanted to like this place since I'm not a fan of the big box stores, but experienced very poor customer service. Two weeks after they came to measure our space and a week after we selected our flooring, we're still waiting on an estimate, which we were told would come on Monday. When I called to inquire on Wednesday, the woman who answered the phone was quite rude - blaming us for selecting more than one flooring material to quote (that's why the estimate was taking so long). After promising our quote the next day, she basically cut me off and hung up without a goodbye. It's now been two days since that call, and 5 days since we were told we'd receive our estimate, and still nothing. Really unfortunate, because the folks we met at the store were helpful and friendly, but this woman ruined it. We'll be looking somewhere else for our tile work. read more
