Great food and service what more needs to be said good prices very nice staff have had their fish dinner have had burgers have had sandwiches and I'd love to play keno read more

Cozy little bar&grill. I had the 1/3 burger which had very good ground beef burger patty, and great condiments (lettuce, tomato, pickle, mayo). The fries could be better, they seem like they have some kind of coating on them? Avoid the french dip sandwich - unless you like really salty beef. read more

Sandy's staff is awesome. Drinks are always good, and the food is delicious. The best chicken tortilla soup around. I love the wraps and burgers. And great seasoned fries! read more

Well lit place good vibes and the service is good nice place to meet up with friends and the location is in a good area

The food and service last night was as good as I've experienced over the past twenty cash-only years. But I simply ask other patrons to clean up before they come in. A weekly shower won't hurt! If you smell 10yds away it doesn't matter if the bartender is your friend. Stay home, you stink! read more

Rating this a 5 - based on price and service. This isn't a fancy place, it's a mid-range place with great value for the food. Fits in well with the blue-collar neighborhood in the Detroit area where it is located. Casual dining. It has burgers, fish and chips, french dip, coney dogs - and you might start to think "Uh... nothing is on the healthy side" - BUT - they have a chicken wrap with lettuce and beets as well and some other stuff. Friendly down-to-earth service, low prices. Good selections of drinks. 2 separate rooms with tables; full bar in one of the 2 rooms. read more

We go here pretty frequently. Our favorites are the Club sandwich and Thursday night is tortilla soup. They have a pretty good chili. The waitresses are always great. Don't forget it's cash only. read more

I have wanted to order from here for a long time based off of the name alone. My wife and I ordered today: burger, turkey Reuben, fries, sweet potato fries. By the time I got the food home, the fries were kind of moist but that's my fault. I'm sure they would have been great if we'd eaten there, and they tasted good anyway. Burger was good, turkey Reuben (mine) was very good. Definitely more of a bar inside but I'd be happy to eat there or get takeout again. Good stuff! read more

Cash only!! They do have an atm but it's easier to stop ahead of time. I had 2 draft beers and a sandwich with fries for $21.00 before tip. You'll see lots of locals hanging out here and everyone seems to know everyone else. Food is great, drinks are cold, and I have zero complaints about service. read more

Nice place but they only accept cash. They have some signs up inside but they are rather small signs. We had no idea that credit was not accepted until we given the bills after eating. read more

What a wonderful place! Everything is definitely homemade and in ample supply. Sandy's features daily specials and homemade soup of the day. Sandwiches were fresh and very tasty. This place guarantees a superb and very dependable menu to please all. Highly recommended! read more

They have best burgers. Made to order. Staff are real people, not fake nicey. Beware, Cash only. There is an ATM on site though.

The fish is really excellent. You've gotta get there a little early or you'll have to stand in line for a while. But it's well worth it. The people are really nice. We keep going back. It's a very good place to go. read more

Sandy's by the Beech - Fish and chips !! So good !!! - Bars Near Me - Redford, Michigan

This place is a family owned and operated neighborhood bar with the BEST sloppy Joe's I have ever had. This was a special, so they may not have it every night...but the service made it clear they were glad we were there! If you are down to earth this place is for you! read more

They have the best burgers and sandwiches in town. I love this place, great service too!

Located on Five Mile in a strip mall type complex with a lot of parking. We went on a Friday night, which wasn't super smart. Inside is a slightly divey dim long bar, lots of tables, a side room, and a really nice side patio with great looking brick and roll up thick metal shutters (this is an elevated crime risk area). Pretty good craft beer list, made even better for being located where it is. Pretty good prices. Pretty good food. The staff were nice, and fast. The issue was the patrons. As I said, this was Friday night, but they were pretty jerky. Rude, as in won't move so people can order, saving bar seats for people who aren't there yet, throwing a shoulder in case you may get to the bathroom first. Sort of the worst of the Thursday night college bar scene, only full of union workers who didn't get into the big three. read more

They have the best burgers also their other food is great. I wish they would bring back the sliders. The barmaids & waitresses are very friendly. read more

Absolutely great place best burgers in town Kelly our waitress very friendly great food. Must try this place.

Food is always delicious, service is great and atmosphere is hometown. I go a few times a month! The beer is always cold.

Food was simple but good. Prices were moderate, service good. Low-key friendly atmosphere. Most people at bar were regulars who seemed comfortable. Decor outdated but clean. We will return read more

I have lived near Sandy's for as long as they've been in business but had never eaten there until just recently. Let me tell you there is a reason this place is so popular with the locals. I ordered their basic 1/2 lb cheeseburger and it was delicious, cooked just the way I like it. Service was great as well. I will definitely be coming back. read more

This is a neighborhood bar & grill operation and the long-term staff operates as a well-oiled machine. If you are a regular, they know your name and your favorites. If you are a first-time visitor, you are WELCOME'd. Sandwiches are very good. Daily (price) special is typically a real deal. Their burger is not of the GFS:Sysco variety. Served hot from the grill with crisp toppings. Excellent onion rings. Prompt and attentive service. Hot food hot. Cold food cold. Excellent value. Wish it was closer to home! read more

Great food with a great price. Today (Saturday) they had $1.00 coney dogs and they are some of my favorite coneys in the area. My husband got a grilled cheese which had a little too much butter on the toast (the whole sandwich tasted like butter) and sweet potato fries which were so good. We also split some jalapeño poppers which were delicious! We sat outside on the patio and it was very enjoyable. They do not take credit cards or debt cards and are cash only, which is a rather big drawback, but they do have an ATM you can use (which for most people has a using fee). read more

Sandy's by the Beech - Bars Near Me - Redford, Michigan

Sandy's By The Beech is a perfect personification of Redford. Older, outdated, but they're trying. A couple need-to-know things: it smells funky, like a mix of a house that hasn't been lived in for 15 years and the remnants of the many cigarettes that were smoked here before it was outlawed. They don't take cards (but do have an ATM). If you have the choice of where to sit, absolutely go for the patio if it's open, with the bar area as a second choice and the "other" room as a last resort. Honestly their food and the service are both pretty decent. I do find myself wishing they had a bit more variety on the menu; it consists largely of sandwiches, and some kind of old timey plates. What they do make, they make well and the ingredients seem to be of decent/fresh quality. Overall, I'd recommend their turkey rueben and some fries with an Angry Orchard on the patio in the summer and you won't be disappointed. Redford has a limited number of restaurants so this is about as good as it get read more

Great place for burgers and reubens. Sucks that they don't take credit cards, but you won't be disappointed in the great food and service.

I have been going to this bar off and on for the last 20 years. A great place. It also served drinks and burgers through the pandemic. Please support your local businesses and this is a special place. read more

My second trip to this establishment. On the first I had their hamburger which was quite good. This time I ordered their steak bites with onion rings. Each morsel of steak was deciduous and very tender. Onion rings were excellent! If you want a great dinner at a relaxed place this is it. read more

Good food, decent service, nice outdoor sitting area. I will certainly go back in the future.

Solid really good burgers, some of the best I have had locally and consistently so. Casual and laid back bar atmosphere. Sandy's is one of the places my parents go to periodically that James and I quite enjoy too. Prices are reasonable, waitresses are well seasoned and they have big TVs to watch the games. Burgers are juicy and made to order and for my money are the only thing to get, I recommend the 1/2 pounder but the 1/3 lb will do. You can doctor it up at will from the tray of condiments, pickles and peppers on the table. I like this sort of thing. Fries are standard, hot and crisp. The chili is pretty good too. Not really recommended for vegetarians or health fanatics. read more

I was suprised how good the food is here...We walked in and it feels like you are in a bingo hall, even the tables and chairs are total bingo hall.. being in michigan, there were about 12 TVs in the place, and each one was showing hunting on TV (I always wondered who the F watches that crap...anyway) the service was very good, quick, and friendly..they had those lil rotating things at the center of the table like old school picnic tables which was helpful.. The food was shockingly awesome...i had grilled chicken on texas toast..i have been trying to find that around me, because wow, it was seriously..just..awesome...and bang up job on the fries too.. This place alone has me contemplating appying for jobs at Redford town hall across the street so i can come back here, eat great food, and possibly learn how to hunt read more

Wow, we were impressed! Looks like a basic bar from the outside, from the inside too - we probably would have driven by without a second thought, if not for the consistently good yelp reviews. We split an appetizer basket of mini tacos and burritos, the clam chowder and a pitcher of premium beer. The mini burritos were nothing special, so I'd do just tacos next time... or try a different app. The soup was very, very good - thinner than usual, per our waitress, but delicious all the same. Next up, we both got burgers - I'm pretty sure they were the 1/3rd lb ones, but maybe 1/2lb. In any case, the burger was so juicy the first bite left some grease on both my hands and my chin. Excellent flavor - highly recommended! Our waitress told us that they have daily specials that they are known for (call to find out what's on the board for that evening). $0.50 cent coneys all weekend, with the purchase of a beverage. TVs over the bar. They were packed when we were there, on a weekday evening, with a solid but steady turnover six person wait. CASH ONLY read more
