I could this place zero stars I would.....they are definitely racist against anyone that's not white ....service was terrible watched the waiter Jessica help multiple tables and not come to our table.....the food was horrible cheese sticks tasted old and freezer burnt.....and to top it off I order a shot of 1738. Jessica brought the shot to the table I sip a little and noticed I had a net stuck to my lip gloss. Thinking that maybe the net just landed there I wiped all my lip gloss off so it wouldn't happen again. Started to drink my shot again and noticed four nets in the bottom of my glass. Went to the bar to tell the waitress and she got an attitude. I went back to my table Jessica brought me a refund of my shot and told me and friends to get out and never come back! read more

The White Rhino bills itself as a sports bar, but I have always considered it more of a dive bar type place with a leaning to the ambiance and bibe of the decadent and wild 1980's. I don't mean this in any kind of a negative kind of way. The 1980's were a magnificent time and who doesn't love a dive bar (even one that calls itself a sports bar)? The staff keeps the customers in drinks and leaves them feeling welcome and festive. Is it an illusion? Come on, life is an illusion, but that's what makes it interesting. All on all, I applaud this place and had a great time here. I woukd definitely recommend a visit here. read more

Went there for a lunch break 12:00 aft. Great!!! Bar and Grill. Excellent food and drink, felt like being in a candy store you want one of everything on menu.Settled on The Naked ( no breading just skin ) Rhino Wings ( hot ) and Cajun seasoned Basket of Fries.The wings were plump & delicious accompanied by very fresh celery sticks. Fries were very tasty! awesomely seasoned Moved on to the next level of the experience with the Hangover Burger, it comes with a fried egg and a dollop of peanut butter, their top Chef cooked it medium to perfection!!! Washed it all down with some Elvis Juice beer, 16 ounces of cold 'old black water Our waitress Shannon worked tirelessly to optimize our dining there. Loved the piped in Blues music sound track more than the Rock n Roll but it was ok too. Can't wait to go back. read more

Ken wanted wings for lunch on Labor Day... and I didn't want BW3. He found this place online (it's what appears to be a local chain). I was leery when I saw the pics of the tanned and toned hot waitresses in teeny tiny tank tops, but what the heck. Ken puts up with a lot from me dragging him all over the place... let him have his wings and boobs every so often, I say! I was pleasantly surprised! Our waitress Stacy had the cuteness and cleavage to please Ken, and the menu and booze smarts to please me. OK, I'll admit she was cute and had good cleavage too. The bar was properly dark, had the requisite grizzled and semi-loud regular patrons, tons of TVs and a jukebox with some eclectic choices. It also had some pretty darn good daily food and drink specials. Monday's food special is Hot Dogs, with normal choices, like my Chicago dog, and some fun, funky choices, like the mac and cheese dog or Ken's choice of a corndog topped with coney sauce, bacon and onions. The bun with the corndog was a bit redundant, and I recommend you get it without. Other daily specials are Subs, Burgers, Tex-Mex, Pizzas, all you can eat pasta, etc. Fun!! We tried their Mini Taco app - basic but delicious. Ken tried their breaded Buffalo Wings and liked (but didn't love them) - maybe the Naked Wings next time? We split the 7" Cheese PIzza, adding Pepperoni - tasty. I am looking forward to returning! Not sure how wild and crazy (and young) it gets at night or on weekends, so I'll report back. read more

Oh, Rhino, why do we find so much appeal in you? I just don't understand. Really. Okay, but honestly - The Rhino is a straight up trashy sports bar. But in the endearing way?? There's dozens and dozens of beer choices, and it's actually a price worth paying?? The food is your good, standard, traditional bar food that you want when you've been drinking. Loaded tater tots with chili and cheese? Yes please. The food is total delicious junk food. Some nights there's shot girls, some nights there isn't. Depends who's there. They have a really big turnaround on the girls there. But they're nice and will talk to you if you're alone, make jokes, and flirt with the older guys to make a regular out of them. Ain't no shame, girl, you work those tips. If you're an insecure woman, though, maybe skip this place. But the girls are generally pretty quick to notice who is with a partner and who isn't, and play nicely. I've never seen my boyfriend get flirted with but all of his friends we've gone with have been. They're pretty good about that. I respect those girls, they put up with a lot. There's a nice outdoor smoking area. They used to sell cigars here but I don't think they do that anymore, it's a bit of a bummer. We liked being able to buy a cigar if we hadn't brought any with us that night. The people here are buckwild. There is a wide assortment of the craziest kind of people that if nothing else are pretty entertaining late in the night. I think that's why we go here so much, if just for the entertainment factor of the people. That, and it's cozy, there's decent food, cheap beer, and security so nothing gets too crazy. The one thing I honestly can't stand though. THE DJS. Oh man can we please stop with the awful djs?? The bar is just fine with the jukebox going. As soon as they turn that off and start blasting these terrible remixes - ON THE SAME EXACT PLAYLIST AS THEY WERE A FEW DAYS BEFORE - IN THE SAME ORDER - it gets so bad that I'm ready to leave early. Honestly. At least mix up the songs?? It gets way too loud and tries to act like a nightclub - but everyone is still just trying to socialize and barely anyone dances. I really don't understand the whole nightclub vibe they try and go for on the weekends. Please just keep it casual. But still, at the end of the day, I like the Rhino. I try and articulate why, but at the end of the day, I'm still Downriver born and bred and I just can't shake the comfort of a decent divey bar. read more

White Rhino was our go to place if we wanted a beer and burger without dealing with a crowd. The place has really gone down hill. The last time we went ( month ago) we ordered a pizza. After 40 minutes of waiting our RUDE server said the pizza was dropped on the ground and they were remaking it. I said " are you kidding me". She in her tone said " people make mistakes ", like I didn't know that. Never apologized and stormed away. When second pizza was done she had another girl deliver it to our table. Will NEVER go back. Who knows how they can even stay in business since the place has few people. read more

This is a great dive bar. Food is great, bartenders are friendly. Even the customers are nice generally. They have a lunch box special that is such a good deal they must be losing money every time they sell one. The White Rhino is your typical dive bar. Small, smokey, and dark. It calls itself a sports bar with plenty of TVs (including the restrooms) but they also had Karaoke on Friday night when we were there. I didn't know Karaoke was still popular but apparently it is here. It was pretty entertaining and made me think of a few tunes I need on my iPod. David ordered the Chubby burger and I had (can't remember the proper name) Grilled Mushrooms and Swiss and both were very good and WAY too big to finish. David also got some chili, cheese and bacon fries but it seemed like a lot of toppings with not enough fries to go with it. We also got the Detroit Tiger's take home glasses for $3 with $1.50 refills on draft beer. Service was good at first but then got pretty slow as the place filled up but we weren't in a rush and enjoyed the night out. We'll go back! read more

If you stop by for lunch try one of the box lunches $2.99 actually a great price for what you get. Pizza is king here ... and good. One of the few bars bars in the area you can get a pizza, that doesn't taste like a box. Basically consistency is coming back...may be worth looking at them again. read more

This place is pretty dope for a hole in the wall. The waitresses are super friendly and funny. It's like a ghetto Hooters with better food, amazing ladies night specials (Thursdays), and an ever evolving list of features. Attire is come as you are. The waitresses all wear skimpy outfits and the crowd varies. Outdoor seating with smoke area. Sometimes you catch a local rap artist doing a show, and other nights they have karaoke. This was the worst service ever. Went last Saturday afternoon. There was 2 folks at the bar and I sat at a booth. Shannon was rude and seemed irritated that we were there. I ordered a BLT. I regret not taking a photo. The sandwich had a pile of near black bacon that had clearly been deep fried. It was old and disgusting. It did have a tiny slice of tomato and a flappy piece of old lettuce. I was surprised it was served. When I very politely showed her the greasy heap she didn't say ONE WORD. She walked back to the bar, chucked it in the garbage and never came back. I had to go to the bar to ask for another drink and again when I wanted my bill. Never asked if I waned something else, just didn't give a sh*t. Probably the best bar in Redford (not a huge selection in Redford). Nice bar during the day and great lunch specials. The DJ in the bar is one of the best in the business and always keeps the music good. This bar has a very mixed group of people and therefor the scene changes from time to time. I have had some great times at this bar and some not so great times. When this bar gets busy it is very hard to get service and you have to go to the bar to order your drinks (even that is sometimes difficult). Some of the people that come into this bar can be kind of trashy which I understand, but for the most part not bad. Good security on busy nights which helps prevent a lot of problems. The waitresses are friendly and when it is not real busy give good service. Most of the time they have good drink specials. Bottom line this is a smaller local bar and great if you want to stay local. read more

Yet another stop on our local bar tour. While the rest were more like local dive bars, this place seems more like a chain restaurant. Imagine a scaled down Hooters in a working class neighborhood. Decor was busy and seemed contrived. Staff consisted of mostly young tarts, seemingly working their way through high school. Great liquor and beer selection, but fairly pricey compared to our other stops. Biggest menu that we've seen so far, but nothing much more than typical frozen and fried bar food. Server was young and bubbly, but paid little attention to us after our drink order. Crowd was a mix of young wannabe yuppies and crusty older men who come just to see the scantily clad nubile help. No pool tables, or much room for any. If you're looking for an earthy place to have fun, this isn't it. Sorry, but the next White Rhino we'll visit is at the Zoo. read more

I wouldn't recommend any one going to this bar. Bar staff is only interested in helping and flirting with men. Prices are outrages for what they offer and the area. Food is your typical greasy bar food that tastes old and over fried. Not at all worth the price. read more

One of my favorite places! Nice & local plus great food! but I had a recent HORRIBLE experience with the bartender. Waited 30 minutes at a booth.. no service. Moved to the bar. Waited for 15 more minutes no service. It was steady but not busy. The Manager finally brought us menus. We were patient.. mind you we are bartenders & waitresses ourselves, we get it! We never "talked shit" or said anything about our wait or the bartender. Finally the bartender approached us in a rude manner after the manager asked her to take our order. She took our order & walked away claiming she can't deal with "bitches & hoes talking shit" She slammed my friends limes down to go with her patron shot & said "here's your fucking limes" I never received my drink. We also ordered a two hearted & the keg blew she slammed the inch of foam in front of us. At that point we wanted to leave and pay for the shot. She also wanted us to pay $6 for the inch of foam/beer we never received. I lost my cool when she swore at us but never once did I name call or swear. Just voiced about the crappy rude service. I will be back because of the place I just hope to never see this terrible bartender again read more

Ordered a pound of BBQ wings to go. When I went to pick up my order I ordered a few drinks at the bar and paid for my wings. I got my drinks and asked the bartender how much longer for my wings after waiting there for about 15 additional minutes. She then unprofessionally proceeds to try to tell me I didn't pay for my order when I specifically came in for my food. I just so happen to try and patronize the place by ordering a couple drinks while I waited. The rude and unprofessional female called me a liar in so many words and refused to give me my order. I asked for the manager and the bouncer came over and told the girl when I came in I told him I ordered food so he showed me where to go to pick it up. She tells him if I would have paid for my food she would have had the receipt, it's mighty funny I received my drinks but the unprofessional and probably half drunk bartender conveniently misplaced the receipt for my food. NEVER EVER EVER GO HERE very unprofessional rude and unaccommodating. In the end I walked out with no food however one of the guys gave me two shots of Hennesy for free for my inconvienience. I don't know where they found these seemingly uneducated unprofessional female bar/waitstaff but they need to try again. Better help is definitely needed in this establishment. read more
