The space has a sort of mountain lodge feel, but without being in the mountains. It's a large, open room that can be transformed to hold events such as family reunions, wedding receptions, large group dinners, etc. I can't speak to the price, since I was just a guest and not hosting the event, but I'd imagine that it would be fairly reasonable since it's at a park. We visited the West Valley Skate Park this Sunday afternoon and it was very busy. There must have been over a hundred skaters enjoying the great September weather. People of all ages were enjoying the skate park on skateboards, bikes, and scooters. Near the West Valley Skate Park they recently installed a small bike park that consists of two pump tracks. There is a larger, more advanced pump track, and a smaller track that's more suitable for kids. Our four year old son absolutely loves the Draper Cycle Park and we visit it regularly. This afternoon we came out to West Valley City specifically to test out the new bike park and had a great time. The two pump tracks are constructed of a black, synthetic, wood-like structure that's rubberized with a grippy surface. The track is surrounded by bark mulch and some small plants and trees. Our son was cruising around the pump track on his bike right away and having a great time! Although it was busy, the other kids were courteous and slowed down to avoid crowding each other or crashing. Unlike the Draper Cycle Park, which is all dirt and results in dusty bikes and dusty kids, the West Valley Skate Park is very clean, which I appreciated. There is also lots of lawn nearby, which was great for setting up a blanket for my wife and the baby to relax, while our older son rode his bike. Overall I'm impressed by the West Valley Skate Park and will be going back soon for another visit. Next time I'll bring my bike and join in the fun!

There is also water fountain and a path for children to ride bicycles on. Next time you go on a local picnic with your children, try Golden Hills Park. I honestly wasn't planning to do much at Murray City Park (I just stopped by to stretch my legs for…read morea bit) but it ended up being way nicer than you expect a quick stop to be. When you enter, you're greeted by a huge wooden Chief Wasatch sculpture at the entrance. It's kind of hard to miss and gives the whole place a bit of character before you even step onto the paths. From there, it opens up into this really clean, green space that just feels well cared for. And clean is the big thing here that matters. It feels like the park is well maintained. The grass is lush, the landscaping is especially pretty in the summer months, and there are tons of mature trees that give you shade without making the place feel closed in. It strikes a nice balance between open space and cozy, private areas. The walking paths are another highlight. They're easy, flat, and perfect if you're just trying to clear your head or, like me, take a quick break and stretch your legs. You've also got little views of water here and there that add to the calm vibe without turning it into a full-on destination park. What's kind of impressive is how much is packed into one place. There's an amphitheater, sports fields for pretty much everything, a pool, even an outdoor ice rink when it's in season. The park has playgrounds, picnic areas, and pavilions, too. The park is open year-round and is clearly a local favorite because it's always buy, but the crowds never felt overwhelming when I was there. There's enough space to spread out, which helps. Overall, this park is not trying to be anything flashy, just a really solid, well-kept community park. Easy to walk, nice to look at, and surprisingly relaxing for a quick stop. Definitely one of those spots you end up appreciating more than you expected.

It doesn't, but man, its 50 acres is so abundant that you'll need to drive from point to point to take advantage of it all. Let me lay it down for you: An expandable-heading Skate Park (no bikes allowed); five baseball diamonds; four softball fields; tennis courts; two playgrounds; a large (reservable) pavilion with electricity and water hookups; six smaller (first come, first serve) pavilions; several multi-purpose football/soccer-sized fields; twelve (that's right TWELVE!) horseshoe pits; a sand volleyball court; BBQ grills all around; and a partridge in a pear tree. Okay, not that last one, but AN ABUNDANCE of stuff. And, unlike any park I've ever reviewed, an EQUESTRIAN ARENA. Yeah, you heard that right ... bring your horse. Of course, you can't bring your dog, which dings it a bit, but man, there's so much to do here. It also has the great advantage of being in the same complex as South Jordan's community, fitness, and aquatic center. If you live in South Jordan, you don't just have a City Park ... you have a center of activity!
