The Great Working with my lawyer Janel Cisneros has been fantastic. She is professional, punctual, keeps her word, and follows up on everything. She was everything I was hoping for in a lawyer, and would I absolutely work with her in the future. Highly recommended! 5/5 The okay The paralegals were very respectful and nice, I'll give them that. But there were some issues with them being asked to make a call or get a form, and then they just don't do it. It was frustrating to say the least, as I had to do a lot of the calling around and legwork in the early parts of the case when I was still recovering. Roswill and Lisa were great, but with the others there were issues. 4/5 The bad Towards the end of my case, I had some legal questions that were not a specialty of my lawyer, so she recommended another lawyer her firm works with named David Don. After calling over a few weeks, so scoffed at me, told me it was unfortunate what happened, but he just didn't want the case. A simple no would of been fine, but this guy just wanted to insult me, and was as rude as possible. This is a BIG red mark on The Husband and Wife Law Firm. Associating with someone who treats your clients like that is very insulting, and makes me question where this law firms morals are. My lawyer apologized later, but still a huge F for both here and Mr. Don. 0/5 Well, after a very long wait I was able to experience working with multiple people in this law firm. Janel was a rockstar, the paralegals have a lot to work with, but need a bit of tweaking on following through (except Roswill and Lisa). The David Don incident was a bad stain on my opinion of this place. But overall I'm giving this place a solid 4/5. I'm putting in 5/5 because yelp giving this place 3 point whatever is way too low, and they honestly deserve something in the 4-5 range. 5/5 range if they stop recommending David Don. Thanks again Janel and say hi to Roswill for me. Enjoy the gift! Edit: I received a call from someone working at the firm to inform me they are no longer recommending Mr. Don, nor are they working with his firm. After the firm's politics led to mass firings apparently, this guy called me to say he was the actual attorney assigned now. I was walking to my doctors office when he called and kept talking after I told him. I was quiet for the first 3 minutes or so listening, unimpressed. His online profile is spotless, BAR license has great reviews but why was his conversation with me bullshit, low energy condescending. As per his "job security" email he sent after the conversation... he lied by omission and left a whole lot out. THIS IS MOST OF THE LONG EMAIL HE SENT Mr. Hicks, Thank you, Mr. Hicks, for talking to me a moment ago. I do apologize that the information shared with you was not to your satisfaction. Being direct in what is happening on a case can often be seen as poor bedside manner - when in fact, it is the hard facts and situation that is at issue. This is a sensitive and personal situation for you, and I understand if you wanted a gentler and encouraging approach. I cannot guarantee an outcome or that things will work out favorably - only my best efforts - which you are getting!... (there was more babbling, there is no room for it on this complaint) ...Again, accept my apologies if the delivery of, or the bad news was not to your liking. I tend to be a straight shooter and having my candid assessment, input, and guidance on the claim is all for your benefit. This new attorney's... attitude, excuses and job security email? Is also troubling. You were recommended by another attorney too after I did my research. As a former paralegal, myself. I have worked with many attorneys, many personalities and spectrum of integrity. The conversation we had, after I told you I was on public transportation and heading to a doctor's appointment. I did not record the conversation, I do hope you did on your end for needed training, constructive criticism or possible dismissal. You blamed the credit and number of years, 20 bragged, between you and the other attorney 2 years, more than once. The implication and wording implying, disdain for the old "guards" on the case. When I mentioned the lack of guard rails and sidewalk not big enough for ADA compliance, your lack of excuses, silence in long thought before the next comment was telling also. Obviously you have moved on, for a quick payout. I'm not the expert of 20 year bragging, reputation worried, new guy. Im the one who was recommended to your firm. I asked who assigned you to the case and you got quite, like I was gonna ask for your manager? No answer... Repeating your credentials and experience. This is not about you or your record of wins. Its about integrity, and doing right by people you never knew till you got assigned and looked at the payout timeline. Your tone and inflection, no matter your excuses of being direct and real world grounded for 20 years, in communication, sucks. As a client, we don't care about internal company politics or your feelings about past fires being implied as to why you need to downplay the work done. Badmouthing the other attorney after I did 60% of the information gathering and working with her, makes the firm look weak and questions how you talk about my mother, myself and others in professionalism. The way you talk about your predecessor. Please assign my mother to an attorney who respects the firm and clients and is not burned out or distant in knowledge about the case to even spell my name right. LOL record all calls. He went straight to his manager and cried... knowing I was coming with receipts and recordings. Got an email from his supervisor, they won't charge us anything and give us all the information on my case. 24 hours later. I now have a different an experienced attorney at a better firm and the attorney is actually ADA certified. When discussing this attorney, Dean Fox with the other firms he worked at... he was not liked either, one lady said she was not surprised by his attitude and entitlement... recorded too.
