***Addendum - I wanted to come back on here and add that on Monday and Tuesday the following week…read moreafter all this happened, I received several calls and emails from Menards. They made a special trip to another store (several miles away) to get the pavers I ordered and brought them back to the store I was supposed to pick them up from to begin with. They informed me they would be held (so no one else buys them) at the customer pick up desk in the yard. They informed me there would be no charge so I wanted to come on here and change my rating (from 1 to 3 stars) and inform yelpers that Menards did attempt and followed through making this experience much more pleasant than it was last Thursday. For that, I thank them... ################## Ordered pavers online. Said they had 40 of them. Email told me to "Hurry, my order is ready to be picked up" so I rush in.... After searching their yard for an hour trying to locate pavers I had ordered I asked fork lift driver to help me find. Off he goes circling yard for 20 minutes to come back and say.... "I can't find them either"... Contacted their "customer service" to see if they were willing to acknowledge their screw up and make it right. (Since I drove 30 miles to get there, 30 miles back, took 1/2 day off work). NOPE, not a word. Not a we're sorry we led you on a goose chase, not even an acknowledgement I existed...... I wouldn't treat an enemy as poorly as this company seems to treat their customers.

Two out of three items I purchased rang up a dollar more than the shelf price. Not a lot of money but the fact that it wasn't a one off mistake means you have to pay attention.

However, upon checking the listing shortly afterward, the same product appeared to be available in significant quantity only at a higher price, approximately $2-3 more per bag. From a consumer standpoint, this raises serious concerns about order fulfillment practices and pricing integrity canceling a confirmed order under the pretext of lack of inventory, while continuing to offer the same product at a higher price may constitute a form of bait and switch conduct or at minimum of failure to honor a completed transaction in good faith at best. This reflects poor inventory management and lack of transparency at worst. It suggests deliberate refusal to honor a valid purchase due to unfavorable pricing on the retailer's end. I would strongly encourage the business to review its policies regarding online order acceptance, inventory accuracy and pricing commitments, customers should be able to rely on confirmed orders being fulfilled as agreed until this is addressed, I would advise others to proceed with caution when ordering online from this location.

Bob, Jake, and Mike are very helpful and knowledgeable if you are looking for a hardwood lumber…read moresupplier in this area they are it. They carry marine plywood and most woods for your boating needs as well. I have been a loyal customer for 7 years now with absolutely no complaints.

My…read morecontract said I would get a random assortment of 2' - 8' length planks 4-4 1/2 weeks from payment and approved shop drawings. I was told that they are running late. I had to delay the cabinet maker and the contractor for an additional 8 weeks beyond the 4-4 1/2 weeks on my contract. I finally received my flooring on April 27th. There were no 8' lengths. None. Not a single one. I contacted Homestead Hardwoods to let them know that I was missing the 8' lengths in the order, and they told me that I have the entire order and that they didn't promise 8' lengths because it says "random" and random may or may not include it. I suppose I should be relieved because with that thinking I could have received all 2' lengths. I think I received the 500 sq feet I ordered, but all in smaller pieces between 2-7', which looks quite different from the floor I am trying to match. Emily, the owner's daughter agreed that she also thought if it said 2'-8' that I should have received at least some 8' planks. She sounded like she was going to make good on the contract and send me the missing 8' lengths, but instead, I received an order form for 8' lengths with a higher price than when I ordered the 2-8' lengths in February. She offered to pay for the shipping and crating, which I appreciate, but wants to charge me today's rate for lumber that I already expected to have from the original order. Today's price is now 36% more than when I actually ordered the 8' planks. I'm willing to pay for the shipping and handling, but I'm not placing a new order, and at a higher rate for something I already ordered and didn't get. Even if they pay for the shipping and handling, it's still more expensive than when I ordered in February. Over $6400 later, I think I'm done with this company and I'm pretty sad about it. I love supporting family businesses, but this experience tells me that they do not honor a good faith agreement. A word of advice: do not allow them to write the word "random" on your agreement. For this company it means that you get what you get, and you don't throw a fit. Another life lesson learned. It's just one more foot in length, so maybe it's not that big of a deal? I'm mostly sad that I didn't get what I thought I paid for. Is the wood nice, you ask? Yes, it's nice. It wasn't exactly the same thickness as my original wood so there's a big 'old bump, and the lengths are much shorter than my original floor as I mentioned. We need to adjust our plan because of it, but it is nice enough and this is the only company that tries to match my flooring, which was discontinued in the 80's. Do these folks keep you updated on your order? Not really, but eventually they will email you if you call a few times.
