Very disappointed in the billing practices for this company. They charged me $700 per month for chiropractic services. This is astronomical and I decided I was not interested in being fleeced any longer. When I attempted to cancel, they told me I had a credit of $138. I then discovered they charged my account for $700 for the month of November and when I called to see if that would be refunded, they informed me my $138 credit wasn't a "true credit" and that the doctor would be calling me to explain the charges. When I inquired about what that meant and if I actually was expected to pay them more money, they couldn't give me a straight answer. They said they would have to go through my ledger and reconcile the charges. Say what?! read more

I made a first time appointment to visit this chiropractic center close to my home. I was excited as I needed an adjustment very much and have been in quite a bit of pain. As I am (semi) retired, I waited until my Medicare program went into effect to schedule an appointment. First, I drove around for quite a while as the folks I spoke to on the phone did not tell me that GPS coordinates would not take me to the location properly, and the place is very hard to find. Finally I had to call the office and get directions to the clinic, as the GPS coordinates do not take you exactly to the office. Second, I spent quite a bit of time filling out almost 15 pages of paperwork. Finally, 35 minutes after my scheduled appointment, a person took me back to an examining room and started to question me if I were aware of how much money I would be out of pocket on the visit. She did not bother to introduce herself or to tell me what her capacity was in the clinic, until I finally asked her who she was. She advised that Sandstone would charge me $76 for first visit, $104 (if memory serves) for X-rays, and additional 20% for any adjustment. When I tried to pin her down on final costs to me, she admitted that the one visit might cost hundreds of dollars out of pocket which my Medicare and Supplemental insurance would not cover. When I said that seemed excessive to me for a retired senior citizen, she said that it wasn't up to her to set the policies. I left the clinic without even seeing the chiropractor due to the fact that I had spoken to the staff a couple of times when setting up the appointment, and no one had ever advised me of the (what I consider exorbitant) out-of-pocket costs for which I would be responsible just for an initial visit. Upon making the appointment, the person from the clinic stated that insurance would pay 80% of the costs, but the actual significant additional costs were not disclosed until I was actually in the office for the appointment and had spent considerable time finding the place and then filling out the extensive paperwork they require. When I called back and asked to speak to someone in charge about what had happened, the receptionist said that she would have the chiropractor call me back. The chiropractor did call me back and listened fully to my feedback. He also recommended another chiropractor in the area that he thought might meet my needs. He also said that detailed directions were supposed to have been emailed to me. Although I sent an email several days prior to the appointment confirming date and time, I never received a return email from the clinic. My parents began therapy there. However, from the start they are very cash oriented and all about upfront prepaid (out of pocket) payment packages. Presented over $3,500 program - they paid cash each visit at a higher price bc they could not afford in full. Billing always said they owed more on next visit (sometimes $8 or sometimes $35, etc.) Finally they stopped going. Billing department always confused, opening new franchise-like locations all over. I would look for another place with similar therapy that has more time and is not as confused. read more

I make a point to get on Yelp and review when I find a business exceptional. Sandstone was VERY accommodating! I was able to be seen on an emergency basis. The entire staff was kind and prompt. They were gentle with me as I was in a lot of pain. I was able to start receiving treatment that day to ease some pain before the weekend. They are also very upfront with payment info. I have been a patient at Sandstone Chiropractic for 3 years now. When I started getting treated in 2011, I was in pretty bad shape and I was only 30 years old.
