My hair is long and indecisive - super curly here, semi curly there. So a cookie cutter haircut does not do. Andrea literally frees every curl and cuts them one by one. I've been to her TWICE, which is a record for me in Portland (I've probably tried every salon with good curl reviews on Yelp). Andrea also has an easygoing personality, and the time flies in her thrown. Oh, and I also referred a best friend and her very picky 5-year-old with Shirley Temple hair. They both love Andrea too :)

This was my first time at this salon and a few things: for a first timer - it's a HOUSE. Yes. It's not in a strip mall. It's a HOUSE. You don't need to knock, or ring a doorbell though. Just step on in!! It's SO cute inside. And while some salons have that BUSY and SUPER loud gossipy environment, this spot does NOT. It's so cute. Very chill vibe inside. Pretty decor. Everything is so well appointed. I only missed that I didn't get a sparkling water or glass of wine. Those are always nice and I should have asked!!

The consultation can't be the same day as your appointment and must be in-person. I contacted them twice within 24 hours of my appointment to ask about the possibility of rescheduling. They never responded and just charged me a $50 late cancel fee. I would hope that a business would offer a little flexibility for a 15-minute appointment, especially when most salons offer free consults the same day as your appointment. At the very least, they could've communicated with me in good faith to let me know that rescheduling was not an option and to clarify their late cancel policy. This is just too many hoops to jump through, terrible communication and poor business ethic. Thankfully, Portland has so many other talented stylists and reputable salons - find someone else!

The first photo was the filter color I came to her with and the second is how it turned out (I'm a brunette naturally.). Oh ALSO my hair was a little dead but I wanted to keep the length. Originally she had booked me for a haircut in case that's what I wanted but she ended up recommending just a blunt cut across the back as opposed to a haircut, just charged me for a bangs cut, and did a deep conditioning on my hair.
