Watching her learn to read in Spanish has been so rewarding - she was performing well above her peer level and entered kindergarten already ready for first grade. Now our youngest daughter has been in the class for some time too, and we're seeing the same great progress and love for learning. What truly sets this school apart is the teachers. They don't just educate but they genuinely love and care for them as if they were their own family. They are completely dedicated and having two children go through the program has only reinforced how great the environment is. The facility is consistently clean and safe, and we have complete trust in the staff. We feel totally comfortable knowing our kids are in great hands. The Montessori approach combined with Spanish immersion has given both our daughters such a strong foundation. After 4 years with this school, we couldn't be happier with our experience and would highly recommend Guidepost!

DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE!! This place is a fraud…read more Guidepost Montessori at Folsom is a sham and does not even deserve 1 star. They will steal your money. This is not a school, but more like an overpriced and unqualified daycare. When I informed the administration of my complaints, they proceeded to defend their inadequate staff due to nepotism and did not refund my money for the month my kids did not attend due to bullying and poor teaching conditions. The elementary program has one teacher, Ms. Sangeetha, who encourages bullying, shame and treats her students with humiliation, as described by my 6 year old daughter at the time (she is 7 now and has vivid memories and stories of the terrible situation at that school). There is no learning, no homework or evidence that your child is even learning. I also reported Ms Sangeetha's inappropriate behavior of inviting my daughter on field trips without parental consent and not scheduling any meetings with us as parents to review my daughter's progress. My second child was in the toddler children's house with Ms Eva, who from my understanding, is not a Montessori trained teacher but rather simply the mother of another student in Ms Sangeetha's class. I reported Ms Eva and her assistant as being cold and ineffective. My 4 year old son informed us that both teachers left the children alone for long periods of time. He had a horrible experience and felt very neglected. He had a fall and giant knot/bump on his head on his first week there. Ms Eva also was an emotional wreck, who appeared to be crying on a daily basis. The staff that is hired here is questionable. There are "field trips" planned without parent consent or permission slips. My daughter had an accident at school and soiled herself and not one staff member alerted us or helped her. Our experience at this school was horrible and I am considering to take legal action based on the money that was taken from me and the neglect faced by my kids.

I am so glad we did!! My daughter went from not wanting to go to school, to now loves going, and is thriving! We are so thankful for the kind and amazing staff. They teach students music, poetry slam, public speaking, and many more. Not only do they teach STEM and Spanish classes, they also do fun activities like Family school dances where my whole family went and danced together with the other family, teachers and staff. I absolutely love the community aspect of this school. Let's talk about security. This school enforces strict rules regarding pick up and drop offs. A key pad must be entered in order to get in. Don't you want your loved ones to be safe and secure all day? Some bonus points are: Folsom Prep offers fun activities for after school programs, such as cooking and ninja classes. My daughter absolutely loves summer camp here as well. Kona ice has frequently stopped by over the last couple of years during summer camp. Currently my daughter is taking the ninja class on Fridays. You will not be disappointed if you enroll your loved ones here! Message me if you have additional questions :)

I HAD NO KNOWN LOCATIONS FOR MY CHILDREN , THEY'RE FATHER WAS A FLIGHT RISK. I had found out my children were going to this school , I PROVIDED ALL INFORMATION SHOWING I AM THEIR MOTHER AND THEY'VE BEEN IN MY CARE (the father had his girlfriend on all the records for the school claiming she was the children's mother) this school asked for no type of proof , RECORDS, ANYTHING! I informed them they can call law enforcement (I had all proper documentation) just for the school to call their dad to immediately pick them up . This made it so much MORE DIFFICULT TO LOCATE MY CHILDREN AND CONFIRM THEIR SAFETY! This school IS HORRIBLE AND SAFETY IS NOT A PRIORITY AT ALL! The school must realize they were VERY WRONG because I pulled my children out of the school after involving Folsom Police in an effort to locate my children AFTER ALL THIS MESS ! They're fortunate I don't get an attorney and sue the school district for negligence. ANOTHER THING , when I called the school to inform them I have located my children and I HAVE EMERGENCY CUSTODY THE WOMAN IN THE OFFICE HAD THE AUDACITY TO ARGUE WITH ME! THIS SCHOOL IS A MOCKERY !!

The reason why there is a waiting list to get in is because this school makes learning fun. Well, fun is not the right word, I suppose interdisciplinary is more appropriate. My daughter who is in first grade loves school to the point that she doesn't like weekends. I am hoping this attitude continues throughout her scholastic life (it was not the case with me!). Parental involvement is in every aspect of the school, so if you do not wish to get involved with your child's school, then this is not the school for you. At least two hours per week is required in the lower grades and I have been told that as the kids get older, it is not as necessary. Also there is a mandatory monthly parents meeting that averages about 1 - 2 hours. Fieldtrips are about twice a month, sometimes more. Again, parents volunteer to be a part of the fieldtrips as there is not school bus to take kids to the outings. However, the kids absolutely LOVE IT! Orangevale Open (OV) is considered to be a performing arts school. Kids can participate in drama and at one point there was a choir. I don't know if it will be coming back or not. The students are assigned a "buddy" or mentor starting from Kindergarten. Wow. What an interesting concept to learn! And the older kids get to see what it is like to tutor younger kids. Whenever I tell other parents about the school, the first question they ask is, "Is it a private school?". Technically it is not, but we pay on average $60 a month or so for all the field trips and activities. Very inexpensive when you compare to private tuition costs.

Aarti is an EOE nurse whom I communicate with often has made me feel content leaving my baby, Courtney makes me feel comfortable too and she I think is the schools LVN? I could be wrong though but she works with my baby too throughout the day. I also feel even more content when my daughter comes home and tells me about her day and has nothing bad to say. I have called them and talked to them about the issue and the lady on the phone did not take responsibility and acted like she could not sympathize, and the problem continues.
