Watching her learn to read in Spanish has been so rewarding - she was performing well above her peer level and entered kindergarten already ready for first grade. Now our youngest daughter has been in the class for some time too, and we're seeing the same great progress and love for learning. What truly sets this school apart is the teachers. They don't just educate but they genuinely love and care for them as if they were their own family. They are completely dedicated and having two children go through the program has only reinforced how great the environment is. The facility is consistently clean and safe, and we have complete trust in the staff. We feel totally comfortable knowing our kids are in great hands. The Montessori approach combined with Spanish immersion has given both our daughters such a strong foundation. After 4 years with this school, we couldn't be happier with our experience and would highly recommend Guidepost!

DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE!! This place is a fraud…read more Guidepost Montessori at Folsom is a sham and does not even deserve 1 star. They will steal your money. This is not a school, but more like an overpriced and unqualified daycare. When I informed the administration of my complaints, they proceeded to defend their inadequate staff due to nepotism and did not refund my money for the month my kids did not attend due to bullying and poor teaching conditions. The elementary program has one teacher, Ms. Sangeetha, who encourages bullying, shame and treats her students with humiliation, as described by my 6 year old daughter at the time (she is 7 now and has vivid memories and stories of the terrible situation at that school). There is no learning, no homework or evidence that your child is even learning. I also reported Ms Sangeetha's inappropriate behavior of inviting my daughter on field trips without parental consent and not scheduling any meetings with us as parents to review my daughter's progress. My second child was in the toddler children's house with Ms Eva, who from my understanding, is not a Montessori trained teacher but rather simply the mother of another student in Ms Sangeetha's class. I reported Ms Eva and her assistant as being cold and ineffective. My 4 year old son informed us that both teachers left the children alone for long periods of time. He had a horrible experience and felt very neglected. He had a fall and giant knot/bump on his head on his first week there. Ms Eva also was an emotional wreck, who appeared to be crying on a daily basis. The staff that is hired here is questionable. There are "field trips" planned without parent consent or permission slips. My daughter had an accident at school and soiled herself and not one staff member alerted us or helped her. Our experience at this school was horrible and I am considering to take legal action based on the money that was taken from me and the neglect faced by my kids.

The best part about this school is the staff working. All of the coaches and volunteers working in this FOLSOM community are phenomenal. They all are fantastic with children. They work really hard to be as patient and helpful as possible- with all the different personalities and ages of each child. They all understand the energy and compassion that each individual needs. Most main stage speaker sessions occurred at the Jill Solberg Performing Arts Center theater for everyone including students/athletes, with the separate individual breakout sessions for coaches/parents/administrators happening in one of the two-story classroom buildings (I believe the two classrooms I visited were typically used for World History and Geography), and continental breakfast and sandwich lunch in the multipurpose room/cafeteria area. The theater was big, about 700 person capacity, comfortable seating, and an impressive lights/sound system for the stage. #whatsyourwhy

First of all for me personally, it is very important that a school has high education standards, especially when it's a paid school, you want to pick best for the future of your child. This school serves Kindergarten through Grade 8. All their teachers are simply amazing - I personally met them & love their professional approach, but the most important individual approach to each child. When I meet with the teacher of my child, they go into details & know my kid very well. Safety of school was always a worry of mine, & this particular school provides great facilities with amazing playgrounds different ages, the facility is equipped with video cameras in classes & on the property, this makes accountability a priority. They have lots of clubs after school, sports, creative arts, music, engineering, etc. Also as part of the school, they have a professional choir that performs 3-5 times a year @ different events. Different field trips provide many educational opportunities. But most of all, their individual approach to each child, every moment of their school day - is what sets this school apart from many others in the area. This school will not just give a great education to your child, it will become part of your family.
