I visited here recently and received a decent pedicure. Here's the low-down:
-the place is small but clean and the tools are all sanitized and individually sealed for one-time use before being sterilized again. The pedi tubs have plastic tub sealers, too. Very hygienic and clean.
-there are tons of different polishes to choose from; however, they are all scattered about the salon and not all kept together. Polish displays are on different walls and tons of individual bottles were placed on every counter surface throughout the place.
-the pedi chair was great, with its massage features. (I love that!).
-my pedi tech was quiet and didn't speak at all.
-the pedi itself was fine if but perfunctory. Minimal leg massage with a warming cream. Zero leg massage with an exfoliating lotion (perhaps they don't do that here in Montreal. I'm used to a citrus exfoliating massage in Vancouver and Seattle salons). The tech used a pumice on my heels and the balls of my feet. Usually I'm ticklish and squeamish during this process but this part of the pedi lasted just a few minutes - so fast! - so it didn't bother me at all. Meanwhile, that night when I checked my feet, my heels were still calloused with rough skin, so the tech didn't really do a thorough job at all in this area. (The entire pedi was over really fast).
-good job doing my cuticles and nails, and nice polish job, too (but they didn't put on a top coat).
-one thing I disliked: when drying my toe polish, they sat me by the front door, with my toes in a portable machine to dry them. It was freezing cold out, a wintery and stormy day, and every time the front door was open (which was frequently, as people came and went), a huge draft came in, right on me. I was freezing. (There was nowhere else for me to go, as I waited for my toes to dry). Not the best set-up.
All in all, if one wants a basic and quick pedi, this is a fine salon to go to. If you want some pampering, I might go elsewhere. read more
