Then I saw a trouser suit I liked in a brochure, to which I was told, "We'll not be sending for that one for you to try on, because if you don't like it, we'll not get rid of itAt this point I thought they'd not be sending for any for me because I wouldn't shop there because of the attitude I experienced. Their range of designer outfits was very impressive and I was never felt pressurised into buying. Once I had choosen an outfit another appointment was made with the dressmaker to do some minor alterations, again the staff were very helpful, and they made an excellent job. In the children's section they have some nice clothes, especially when there is a sale on! There is a small men's section, again for the older man. The do some nice underwear and nightwear for women and children. The homeware section sells lovely cushions and candles. I have just bought my daughters prom dress from the House of Elegance and have received nothing but professionalism from the moment we first walked through the door. Jayne and Deborah could not have been more helpful if they had tried. My daughter was treated like the first girl to have ever been going to a prom. Dress after dress was given to her to try on until she felt that she had found the right one, at no time did she feel pressured or rushed and at all times had the assistance of Deborah who gave her plenty of expert knowledge. THERE ARE SIGNS UP in the shop about alterations and we were also told that my daughters dress could be altered but would incur an extra cost, a small price to pay for perfection I would think and also please take into consideration the amount of work it takes to painstakingly alter some of these dresses. After returning home with the dress a couple of days later I noticed a mark on it which had not been there when I left the shop. In a mad panic two days away from prom, I rang the shop for advice. I was told to take the dress straight back where as soon as I arrived Jayne dropped everything and went to work on the stain removing it for us. I can't tell you how grateful I was to this wonderful lady. So please do not think for one minute that the house of elegance is there to rip you off they Are most certainly not!!! They simply want to give you the best possible experience and to look simply elegant.

Sadly, he never falls for it. Clever Boy! But I always do it no matter what and it has become a healthy habit I think. Never deprive a girl of her handbags! So this little shop feels like something off Harry Potter inside. Like when Harry gets his first wand and the shop clerk is pulling things out of boxes on shelves. It is just like that. Magical yet cleaner. They are famous for their Radley bags and have some special collector ones in there. They stock Kipling and all sorts of other brands. They have everything you need for luggage or purses. What is special is that if you cannot afford the bag, they reserve it for you and you pay so much off a month. Fantastic for Christmas presents or just for yourself. GO and have a look at this wonderful shop!

i have been a customer at this shop for over 50 years. i have always had great customer service…read morefrom Mr. & Mrs Holloway, and then John and Michael their sons. It has now been taken over as they have retired. I ordered a suitcase , middle of April. i was told it would take a week, so i paid a deposit, and waited, and waited, and waited. every time i phoned the shop, was told it would be another week, and another, and another. I contacted Samsonite directly in mid July, and was told that the actual suitcase i had ordered had long been discontinued. i phoned Holloways and told him, and he said "yes, i have just found out they have not got any more". I went into the shop (by this time I had been in the shop a dozen times, trying to find out where it was), and picked a different case, which I was told was definitely in stock, and would be in within the week. That was 2 weeks ago. I asked for a refund in this time, and I have also been waiting for THAT for 2 1/2 weeks!!! Anyway, the suitcase still hasn't arrived, I am due to go on holiday in the next couple of weeks, and wanted this case especially for this particular holiday. The customer service at this shop SUCKS!! He has had my phone number all the time, and hasn't once called to tell me why I still haven't received the case. I have phoned him 3 times a day for the last 5 working days, and he won't even pick up the phone. not very good when you are running a business. I am done with this shop now. Don't buy anything from there, unless it is in stock in the shop...you will wait forever!!! I am sure John and Michael would be horrified to hear what is happening, especially when the shop has retained the good name of Holloways. I have had to get the credit card services involved now, to get my deposit (£200) back. Not happy at all.....
