Here is proof of their expertise - my sister has flat feet and has to wear insoles and this was one of the first shoe shops that my mother tried for Hush Puppie style shoes that would be high enough at the sides and comfortable for her. Even though we now live the other side of Manchester entirely. Bypass Manchester town centre, Clarks and the lot of them and try A & B. So, a great little old fashioned shoe shop that, as with many others on High Street West, has stood the test of time due to the excellent reputation they have carved out for themselves. Firstly, the shoes are sorted by size, so all you have to do is go straight to the aisle for your shoe size and can see at a glance if they have your size. Also, the store is really spacious, so there's lots of room to move around. They stock matching bags and other accessories too. In addition, they offer a wide selection of branded footwear as well as cheaper items. On the downside, there's not a lot of seating areas to try shoes on, and the staff aren't very approachable.
