I am usually able to find a last minute outfit when needed and they always have a great variety of shoes available from their recent range. One thing I will say however is that the store can be slightly messy and their sale rack is usually a nightmare! Other than that I have relied on this store on many occasion.

Prices start from £2ish and the staff are lovely and very helpful. This is a nice shop and well worth a look if you are passing, you will be sure to find something nice.

This Debenhams store is located in Oldham town centre, on the lower floor of Spindells mall, one thing I've noticed is that for a Debenhams store it is a little small, which can be expected for a degree in comparison to the stores in larger cities such as Manchester and Liverpool, who have much better stores. The store throughout doesn't seem modern at all, it is quite old-fashioned, and reminds me of an old department store, considering this is located in a shopping mall which was built in the 80's/90's, it still feels like the unit hasn't changed too much in that time. The staff seemed friendly enough and the location does have a small cafe. 2* - A nice brand to have in Oldham, despite being old-fashioned it isn't terrible and I do feel it would be a huge disadvantage to the town, without this store.

I live in the US now and Debenhams reminds me of a mini Macy's. As a petite lady, I love that they have petite sections, especially their own Collection brand and the Dorothy Perkins brand. British fashions are way more appealing to me than their US counterparts. Typical department store set up with men's, women's, children, home, fragrances, shoes, accessories and the like. I like the cafe too. Debenhams was my first job out of high school (a couple decades ago) so some sentimental nostalgia and happiness that it is still here! :) If you need something quick for self, home or gift, Debenhams offers nice and good quality merchandise, just limited selection compared to some of stores in bigger cities.

Choosing tactfully to go on a Sunday at opening time, it was a wise move as I was in and out of the Traff in less than two hours. It was THE perfect visit and Banana Republic had a bit part to play in that. The store is decent sized, light and airy (mens is on the ground floor with womens upstairs - which was refreshing as we usually have to trek upstairs, ladies!). They're owned by Gap Inc but it has a more upscale image. The clothes are all nicely displayed, all the sizes are there and the friendly staff on-hand to help. One of them kindly offered to pop the few things I'd picked to try in one of the fitting rooms whilst I perused the rest of the shop (a sales ploy most likely, but it was still appreciated). I felt like I was in one of those expensive shops you see celebs in on Rodeo Drive, with a personal shopper and staff who know what you want before you say anything. The Duncan Street store has a funky boutique feel about it - it looks so cool, that I needed a bit of dutch courage even to take a wander in. The clothes in there are the sort you'd find in the menswear department of Harvey Nics and Selfridges. At a similar price. But on a smaller scale. The treatment you get from staff is much different and tailored towards your individual needs, which is always a bonus for this plastic-flashing fashion enthusiast. The range of denim on offer is amazing - when you consider what's on offer in much bigger stores - with exclusive Japanese selvage the pick of the crop.

The general look is high quality and carefully designed with attention to detail - simple checked shirts, polo shirts, child-like striped sweatshirts and understaded but thoughtfully cut jeans. For the ethical shoppers they also stock Veja trainers which are fair-trade and use organic cotton and wild Amazonian rubber. The shop has a clean, spacious quality feel to it and the staff are helpful and knowledgeable, seeming passionate about the products. Prices here are not average high street (ranging from about £70 to nearing £200 for a pair of jeans)but this is not an average high street shop and clothing is generally of superior quality and design, and sometimes rare - several products are sold in few other places worldwide.

They also do ear piercing you can see the kids sitting in the window getting it done. The staff in here are very friendly and helpful often dressed in goodies from the shop!

The store is down the walkway at the side of kirkgate market which makes it very accessible and smack bang in the middle of town. There isnt a huge selection of clothes but they are always changing so that is good. The store is nice and clean and the staff are very friendly. The prices are decent if not on the dear side, but, not too dear.

However where Peacocks wins on the adult clothing I think for pure range available next door is better for chidlren and infants clothing. The store is well designed with a nice layout although they've taken the zoning approach dedicating clusters of space to each potential customer type (i.e womans, men's etc) and sometimes this actually works against the customer as sometimes you have trouble moving between the displays and even more so should you have a buggy with you) It's bright, well lit and tidy with nice window displays and a centrally located payment area. The staff are attentive, helpful and efficient.
