My child, 2 cousins and at least a half a dozen co-workers kids have attended this daycare all with positive results. They do follow the requirements (VPK is allowed a higher ration than 11 to 1 as the first reviewer states), are very caring and concerned with your child's needs. They provide a positive environment for the children and ALL of them treated fairly and equally. Your child will great head start on learning here. If you are looking for place for your child I would highly recommend any of the Sandcastles that are in town. You will not be disappointed.

When I called, either I got cut off or hung up on because their was silence after the person who answered gave her initial greeting and I explained that I wanted a tour. I called back a minute later and it went to voice mail. I then emailed and received a prompt response from the director, "You are welcome to come for a tour anytime Mon-Fri between 9am-4pm. Unfortunately all of our classes are full with a two year waiting list at this time. We can add you to our waiting list if you are interested." I can clearly see they do not need and are not interested in new students. With the initial experience I had, I hope their business stays that way.

We spent 3 1/2 months going back and forth with the daycare about concerns. First, our child was allergic to the diapers they provide. So we provided our own diapers. However there was multiple instances where they would not communicate that to other teachers or simply forget. This would cause red welts & a bad rash on my toddler. When providing diaper rash cream, again there was instances where they would forget they had it or didn't communicate about it. Which caused infections and a crying toddler at pick up. This led to urgent care visits and me physically having to keep my toddler home so that their Rash would heal enough to go to daycare since I couldn't trust them. Two others parents pulled their toddlers during this time and complained about picking up their toddlers to diapers that were about to burst. They also falsified incident reports in our presence.

I didn't really pay any mind to it at first but little by little I saw the controlling/manipulative side of the director. He has a my way or the highway mentality and it just didn't go well with my teaching style! He also came to observe on like my 3rd class!!! I've taught for over 25 years and never had a walk in observation unannounced in my 2nd week of classes!!! That was very tacky on his part. There were discipline problems that weren't addressed and continued to be a real hindrance to my work at this school. I got pretty sick and continued to arrive to teach and only received complaints from the principal, I was really sick! He'd write passive aggressive emails to me and I just realized that this school was not the place for me to teach/coach and bring my family! When I was told to leave the principal eerily left all the lights on at the school and said he'd be watching me on the school cameras as I went back to my classroom to remove my personal belongings!!! Weird experience there, wouldn't recommend the school for kids or for a teaching opportunity!! Not worth it!! Was very disappointed, the community there in Daytona beach is a bit off, people in general are NOT friendly and everyone keeps to themselves, was a very odd time for me!!

Shocked to see how long ago a review was!!…read more This daycare is amazing! I was blessed to stumble across this center, in the knick of time. I go to work worry free everyday, knowing that my baby girl is in great hands. They're clean, sweet, and caring. Every staff member makes you feel welcomed and informed. A special and warm shout out to Ms.Rosie! This lady is everything you could hope for! She's the nicest person I have met in a very long time and my daughter and I love her to bits! My baby girl goes to her with open arms! Even on the mornings it's a bit rough to start the day, you ALWAYS walk in to a "Good morning" and bright smile. She's the best! I also want to shout out Ms.Jenn she's so patient and kind! Let's me know my daughter's progress and how she's doing. I can tell my baby got attached to her as well which is comforting. ALL the YMCA's I've visited have some of the friendliest giving staff members of ANY health club I've visited! I have visited them ALL and as a former ACE Certified trainer, I've worked at ALL of them. The YMCA's commitment to helping families, and I thank them for treating my family great when I worked at Deltona and Orange City. The most important employee position in ANY club....is the front desk! The first point of contact, and the last point of contact exiting the club. When a staff member can call you by your first name... your day should be made! So to all the "Negative Nancy's" "Pauley Pout Pouts" Killing this amazing organization with horrible reviews and photos, that has endured the last economic crash while STILL giving out scholarships for sports and programs they offer for a VERY fair fee... Do take your snootyness up the road to LA, where you're just another account. Why don't I see more reviews on the amazing upgrades in equipment and services? Because the Ormond YMCA facility got updated about 2 years ago and it's been looking better then ever but the port orange YMCA has not ever got an update. 2. Ive been swimming at the port orange YMCA for a couple years now and I am a swimmer and the Port Orange YMCA NEEDS TO GET NEW BLOCKS they are low budget and some are wobbly and have no fin or back piece on the back of the block. 3 The whole building just needs a whole power washing job it looks very dirty. 4. The boys locker room needs a new upgrade the ceiling is literally coming down and the floors are torn up. Also the stalls in there need some work and could use more of them. 5. The tiles in the bathroom also need improvement. 6. The outside deck of the whole outside of the pool needs to be updated because they are also falling apart 7. But overall the people there are nice but just some things need to be updated so it could contend with the Ormond Beach YMCA
