Dr. Bissell has been my dog's vet for several years now. He opened his own practice less than a year ago leaving a clinic we went to. His office is worth the drive but may be near you. Here is my story. My dog Sophie was up in years and was unable to get up due to hip dysplasia, I tried a variety of things recommended at the clinic after he left and she wasn't getting any better, even a specialty group. So I called him, explained she could barely get up and after treatments there was nothing left could he help me even if it meant putting her down. Dr. Zack, Bissell went the extra mile. He called and emailed other veterinarians, colleagues, and veterinarian colleges. One of his former classmates sent him a video of a shot he used on his dog who was in the same dire situation as mine, mobility issues. There was a shot that could inhibit the pain by bypassing signals to the brain and was made available recently in the USA. "What a game changer!" Dr. B., called and said to come in on Sunday, he had something to talk to me about and something to try. He saved Sophie's life. The shot is monthly and my dog has full freedom to be a dog. I can not thank him and his staff enough for this complete turnaround. Any amount of time I have with her is a blessing. For now, I have my Sophie. We now are permanent clients for both check-ups and boarding. If you are looking for a wonderful Veterinarian and delightful staff, here ya go! https://www.sandbridge.vet/ Ask for Melissa if you need daycare or boarding. She is caring, and delightful, and will take care of your pet's needs. Please tell them Deb A. sent you.

I found Just Like Home on a google search and called the owners. They were very accommodating and let me come by immediately for a meet and greet. Paul and Katie were very friendly and reassuring. My dogs took to them and had a blast during the short encounter. So, I boarded my dogs with them for a night the next day. Some things I'd like to highlight is that they have a spacious fenced in yard and a doggie door so the dogs can come and go as they please. My little brats could learn how to be dogs in a pack. Food is included and provided. They provide high quality grain free food that my dogs love and they leave it out so the dogs can graze. This is good if your dog eats when it's hungry. However, my dogs, being puggles, ate non-stop and Paul and Katie had to put the food up. They just fed my dogs like pigeons throughout the day instead. This is something you might want to consider if your dog has special dietary needs and will eat everything in sight. But apart from one of my dogs overeating till his all you can eat buffet was thwarted, all is good. Oh Katie is a nurse and she's able to put eye drops or whatever your dog needs. My dogs are fine, but it's something you might want to consider when picking a boarding place for your dogs. Best part about Just Like Home is that the dogs can go on the furniture and sleep with humans. My dogs lay on Paul and Katie and watched tv and slept with Paul at night. (Sorry, Paul, I know my dogs are walking heat packs.) I'm relieved that my dogs can get the human contact and attention that they crave. I don't have to feel bad that they are crying in a suite at some other boarding place. When I went to pick the dogs up, one of them came up to greet me, then ran back off to play with his friends. He didn't want to leave. The other one is a total momma's boy, so he stayed by me while we tried let the first one know that it was time to go home. Also, the rates here are very reasonable. I'll definitely take my dogs there again if I need to board them while I'm in Jacksonville.

I did a 'get acquainted visit' and my pups were greeted with love by Katie, Paul and they gang'. The true test was leaving them for an overnight. I picked them up this evening and they were too 'busy' playing with the other pups and following Katie around! (Guess they didn't exactly miss mom!). Katie helped my little almost blind AnnieRose learn to use a doggie door and navigate some little steps into the house. Katie is a nurse and she was fabulous about making sure AnnieRose got her eye drops faithfully. I don't think there is a more loving place to leave my little ones. Thank you Katie and Paul - They WILL be back because it is Just Like Home!

I am in Jax for extended stay, but still a temporary visit, and I wanted my dog to have some sense of normalcy by continuing to go to daycare like she does at home. The owner talked me through the forms to sign, which is on me for not reading it myself, because she did not at all mention that I was signed up for auto-billing so I was shocked to see a $428 charge for daycare when my dog didn't go to daycare once on the initial 1 month package I signed up for. The fact that I had to reach out multiple times before getting any acknowledgement is a super disappointing experience given how friendly and "transparent" the owner is to prospective customers. I will note the reason I didn't end up taking my dog there even though I had purchased a package is because it is standard at all Dogtopia's that dogs are crated for a 2 hour window everyday, and the place I take her at our permanent home is a crate-free environment so two hours in a crate every day would not be a good experience for her.

First let me begin with the positive, - [ ] Dr. Dawn Stewart- So sweet, compassionate and caring. Most of all professional and knowledgeable. What a loss for this practice! - [ ] Dr. Ashley- Assisted with transitioning my Hank across the rainbow bridge. Patient, kind and caring. She is the reason I stayed a little longer with this clinic. - [ ] Brandi- Assistant that always helped me and I could tell her true love for my pets by her enthusiasm when she saw us. Now for the negative events that have led me to my decision that it is time for a change. On September 14, 2024, I requested a refill on my dog's Heartgard. The office told me I would have to bring her in for a blood test prior to the refill. I explained my financial considerations and wanted to keep my dog protected. I first requested to set up the appointment on my next payday in 2 weeks and refill the prescription and that was declined. I then asked could they waive the $80 office visit to help me get her in sooner since I would be paying for bloodwork and an exam. They told me they would speak to Dr. Hill and call me back. There was never a callback. This facility has gone corporate. This veterinarian does not care about a lifelong client. I should have left long ago but stayed.  I absolutely cannot return to this practice.   After 22 years of being a client, with multiple pets, I have literally spent thousands of dollars at your clinic. But I get treated so poorly. No customer loyalty or compassion for my situation. Therefore, it is well past time I move on. I understand a big corporation has acquired the practice and only is interested in money, I can certainly see that with just the increase of the price of an office visit.  I will give this advice, people want a constant perception of caring and consideration. It is good public relations. This notice will also be posted on the reviews of your clinic. Like other reviews, it's about $$$$ not customer service. I was told there would be a callback after speaking to Dr. Hill concerning my requests but nothing. Due to No response from your office concerning considerations and requests- at least call me back when you say you will. I hope you and your corporation are happy together.
