Mahli's bit at Dogtopia March 2026

My dog was bit at the facility. The center did not want to take any responsibility until I shared my qualification to manage the terms of their contract that are indeed were in conflict with Florida law. BE AWARE your dog can get bit and the facility won't give your readdress without a strong push. Nor will they share the offending dogs name. Not to mention bad billing and record keeping.

My puppy Addison had the best time at Doptopia! She went in for a grooming appointment. The whitening shampoo and oatmeal conditioning made her coat silky-smooth, while the blueberry facial had her smelling like a dream. They gave her ears and teeth gentle cleaning and brushing. The brush out helped with her summer shedding and got to come home with a new a bow! We didn't utilize their boarding service but they offer half day, full day and doggy daycare all inside which is great for the summer.

This review is long over due but important. An unvetted dog attacked my dog while he was in the care of Dogtopia Beach.

i wanted to put this review out because it's important to know daycares have these issues. Yes there are lots of happy photos but this is what you don't see. This could happen to anyones fur baby. An unvetted dog attacked my dog while he was in the care of Dogtopia Beach. The staff lacked training and they could not keep their staff long enough to have them trained to be efficient. While there, I observed 5 or 6 different people hired and quit just at the front desk. My dog was badly injured because untrained staff did not know how to handle the situation.

    Happy pup!

The earliest I could book a meet and greet is 8:30 AM on August 5. I have to be at the Mayo Clinic by 8:30 AM. Is it possible to do a meet and greet by 7:30 AM on Monday, August 5?

We will be able to have your pup come in at 7:30. In the event that we do not have a sufficient number of dogs for the meet and greet, we will need to keep her in a suite until we have a sufficient number of dogs. see you on MOnday,

I was gone for three days and got to watch them on the puppy cams and the whole time they seemed relaxed and happy... Weekend Boarding and PM Staff at Happy Hound Dog Resorts (HHDR) at Beach Boulevard is HORRIBLE and NOT recommended for SPECIAL NEEDS DOGS! CAUTION: Personnel is inexperienced with no compassion, patience, knowledge or education to care for special needs dogs despite website advertisement. HHDR is NOT suited for dogs with special needs such as separation anxiety. WARNING: Worker's performance resembles unsuccessful daycare employees who decided to change career paths. Entry level employees with little to no experience caring for animals would not accept responsibility for their neglect, inadequate training and inability to care for multiple dogs. The customer, your special needs pet or other dogs in their care are blamed for any and all incidents. CAUTION: Read waiver thoroughly before signing and leaving your vulnerable furry family member! WHY? As stated, Happy Hounds Dog Resorts (HHDS) accepts ANY dog that is not sick with requested vaccinations. HHDS is NOT responsible for any injury to your dog even when management, employees, volunteers or contractors are liable. WARNING: AGGRESSIVE dogs are placed with anxiety and non-aggressive dogs by SIZE! Due to staff lack of experience and knowledge, King was harassed repeatedly by aggressive dogs (watched one incident on camera). A worker (white pregnant female) placed King "in time out" because he defended himself after an antagonistic dog repeatedly kept trying to "hump him" according to her statement on Saturday, October 26, 2024. Common sense care is limited to verbal conversations. Oncoming staff as next shift will NOT read chart/paperwork/computerized records to determine special needs. Instead, rough play as pack initiation "all day" is permitted. Apparently, their responsibility is limited to feeding and cleaning the area while observing activities. Weekend tech was adamant, defensive, oblivious regarding her error and unwilling to accept responsibility for her actions and decisions. During our conversation, reciting her statements back to her several times was required until she understood care was negligent. Conversations similar to parent speaking to a pre-k daycare assistant who proudly abused discretion without justification. The entire conversation was strange and horrifying with no idea what would occur until I arrived almost 48 hours later. On Saturday, October 26, 2024, King was placed in a "10x10 room to play with toys alone with a bowl of water." I specifically asked, "was King injured?" Her response was "no." We agreed (and requested) that King remain separated from other dogs until pick-up for his safety and "prevent injury". Upon arrival on Monday, October 28, 2024, King was in front area (entrance) with larger dogs that were "his size". Perhaps, this was the only way to protect him from the "back-end" employees and dogs. At home, more horror was discovered. After bathing and grooming, his body and mouth were checked. King's lip and two teeth were bloody and swollen. His right eye is constantly secreting yellow mucus. His mouth was sore to touch on right side. He couldn't eat. His appearance and countenance resembled a child that was mentally broken, neglected, beaten or punched or kicked and abused. He looks fragile from weight lost or dehydration. NOTE: 12 cans of dog food were provided, Beach boulevard facility was contacted immediately. Daytime employee suggested King hurt himself by purportedly "chewing on kennel and bruised his nose and lip" as a common reaction to anxiety. However, she "don't know what happened on the back-end" and she was "not present yesterday [Sunday]. Furthermore, his nose is fine. Separation anxiety usually accompanies an inability to socialize amongst aggressive dogs. King's limitations were previously disclosed in WRITING and verbally communicated to the manager and two AM workers on Friday (October 25, 2024). Management not present weekends. Inexperienced staffers run the entire operation with little to no compassion, training and resources to accommodate animals with special needs. Addressing concerns via telephone and website email caused King to be subjected to abuse and neglect. Yes, he was "happy" on Friday when left with management. When I returned on Monday, October 28th, King had a swollen lip with two bloody teeth, right eye secreting mucus from injuries and a broken spirit. He won't respond as himself, he's distant and constantly pulls away when attempting to touch him ... Similar to a child subjected to abuse and returned to the parent as alleged abuser(s) blame the child and parent.

She will send photo updates throughout the day so I can see our little Emmy having fun with the other dogs. Amanda's space is clean, safe, and spacious for all dog sizes. At the time I was looking for a dedicated and educated dog lover who could dog sit for me while I travel. However I ended up finding just that and more! During my consult I felt like working with TFTJ would be a rewarding and positive experience so I signed my dogs up for the 6 week training program. Both of my dogs are adult aged but I like keeping them up to date on training and working on their proper mannerism and behavior. Both of my dogs need work on building confidence, impulse control, and general manners. I also have a dog with kanine OCD. Alyssa is very good at focusing on those specifics and working on them in our sessions. We are about half way through the program and it has been a great experience. My dogs love when they see their trainer Alyssa. They are overjoyed and having fun when they train with her. They've been able to work on training inside our home plus in the real world/public spaces. Not only are they learning but I am learning too. Training has also made me closer to my dogs, it's a bonding experience. My dogs are mentally stimulated and worn out after training because of all the stimulation and fun they're having. Both of my dogs have done great on social settings like at the mall, they watch people go by with no reaction. They both think before they act now, such as decreased door dashing and excessive barking. TFTJ is very dedicated to shaping your training to your needs. They're very flexible in scheduling and even offer payment plans. I am very happy to have met Alyssa and have enjoyed working with TFTJ.

Beach St Johns Animal Hospital - Office's response to my asking why a vet needs to see my driver's license. Not over the top at all!!

My pup needs a dental cleaning and these are performed on days surgeries are done. The woman on the phone says she isn't sure which days are for surgery. Ok, maybe she's new. She asks for a call back number. 4 hours pass by. I call back. She answers. I identify myself and she says she's alone and doesn't have the information yet but she would call back. This is odd. Is this a new establishment? I don't ask but say ok. Next day I call and a new woman answers. I identify myself and explain everything. She says she sees a note left by the other woman. I ask the woman in the phone if she has the surgery dates and I ask if I can schedule something. She says she isn't able to schedule anything and she doesn't have the pertinent information. I ask if there's anyone else i can speak to and she says no. I'll have to wait until the other woman is back to the office the next day. So, 2 business days in a row and I can't get any information or schedule an appointment with this vet. Next day, I call back and reached the initial woman I spoke to and get a lot of information. GREAT! I get a form sent via email that they need filled and to send it back. Great! No problem. I send the form, my pup's vaccination records, medical history. They then ask for a copy of my driver's license. This is unprecedented. I ask multiple friends and family if they've ever accounted this (as I haven't) and nobody has ever been asked for their driver's license at a vet's office. So, via email (see photo attached), I ask the office why they need my license as this is irregular. They could have responded saying it's just their protocol. They could have responded with a string of bad incidents with clients. Instead, the office seems offended! In 30 years of being in operation no client has ever asked such a thing! So, instead of simply answering the question I get what seems to be a nuclear response. I'm to blame and how dare I question them! Who am I to ask?! What nerve! They informed me that my appointment has been cancelled and my pup's records have been shredded. I've never in my life!!!! Read the office's response in the attached photo.
