First- the equipment is hot on your body Second- the interaction is physical and builds heat The floor is flat so where court shoes Dress accordingly We were allowed in groups of 6 Each person gets assigned a color Each person gets a vest with vibration inside Each person plays the hokey-pokey and gets attachments on left wrist, right wrist, left ankle and right ankle so the computer can locate movement Adjustments to each piece may need to be done Then each person gets visor... wear a headband if you have one to gap the visor for airflow Finally- each person gets headphones Verbal WARNING given "The gear is expensive so do not try to take it off yourself" We choose the Zombies, violent and action (?) as the VR experience. I ended up with shotgun (it was that or chainsaw) because I was last to choose. Understand- Zombies have weak spots and usually that spot is the head, dogs attack low, bats attack from the sky Just when you get comfortable- zombies break through the windows or attack you from behind This is truly surround and immersive so do not be stuck trying to watch the screen in front of you. Also- teammates will need a helping hand on the shoulder to revive. Action is constantly going on except when there is a problem and the screen in the visor goes black... relax and deep breath and reload till the game gets started again The experience last for under 30 minutes so give it your all and walk away happy. read more

We did this with the family. Honestly it wasn't that great. We did stranger things. The equipment wasn't that good. Had to stop to adjust which took away from the experience. This seems like old technology. I wouldn't waste my money. It was however, something to do. If I could go back, I would've chosen mini golf instead! read more

BRUH. So much fun!!!!! I have been stalking this on IG so when they said it was coming to stl... I signed up IMMEDIATELY to get notifications. I got an email to sign up for opening day and we got $20 off! I recommend if you are going in a group... max 6 without a private party... have one person buy all the tickets to make it easier. It is located in the food hall to the left in the back. Come 15 min early to sign in and get the gear. IT WILL GET HOT HOT! Like 30 min high-intensity workout ... I was drenched when I left . We did deadwood and it was a scary zombie apocalypse. You get to select your weapon of choice that you keep the whole time and they keep score. We had scene changes and it felt super real!! There are a variety of games but I definitely went for the jugular with a scary one. We thought the whole video gets recorded but it's just segments. Still super super dope videos that you get for free and you end with a dance party. I am OBSESSED!!! You will love it!! read more

Colin was so helpful and mindful! I had some issues with my audio at first and he was very quick to fix it and get me back into the game. He was super personable and clearly knew his stuff. Overall a really fun time. In the future I probably wouldn't go right after eating because it is definitely a work out + a little motion sickness. My arms are still sore the next day! Finally got the chance to visit Sandbox VR and had a great experience! The space is very modern and futuristic. We chose the Squid Game Experience because the other selections that were offered, I've seen offered at different VR places. The headsets worked great and any glitches were fixed at the beginning. The games were fun to play and followed/closely aligned with the actual Squid Games. Going into it, I wish we got more game time, but by the end of it, I was sweating and out of breath (that last game is intense!). So all in all, pricey experience but super fun if you're willing to splurge! read more

This was a tad on the pricey side but very nice, clean, in a cool location at the Foundry - the staff is friendly and we had no wait to play, there are several games to choose from, some more kid friendly than others but a number of fun options. Our kids are home VR gamers and have been wanting to try this, they were not disappointed and really had a great time. Their only complaint is that they wish the game had lasted a little longer. They also enjoyed being able to watch the in-game video after they were done, they send you video clips as well. We are in town for the rest of the week and they are already asking to go back, we definitely would do again. read more

I was super excited to try this place out when my family told me about it. As Kentucky does not have one yet. The staff seemed a little unorganized but were very friendly. I was a little annoyed with the set up of the headset. I was told that I needed to put it where I could see clearly as I was looking in a direction where nothing was visible. So for the first 10 minutes everything was blurry and I couldn't understand why. I started playing with the mask and pushed it down and the vision was clear as can be. But the mask was so low on my face I couldn't breathe out of my nose. Very uncomfortable. We had to stop gameplay 3-5 times for glitching. My family said they did not have that issue the first time they were there. From my understanding this is still kind of a new thing and I understand these things are going to happen. Overall if the glitching didn't happen and I was told about my headset from the start this would have been 5 stars easily. It was a lot of fun when things were going smoothly and we did book to come again. Hopefully I'll have a better review next time! read more

I just paid $60 to have a headset put over my face that said lost tracking over and over, and a gun that would not fire that had to be replaced but still didn't work. Finally I was pulled from the game so the rest of my team could finish. Not offering my Money back immediately is absolutely incredible to me. I had to leave to keep from losing my cool. I don't want a free game. I want to forget about this overpriced terrible experience I got conned into after workin my ass off all day. Take your kids to a activate or something. This place was soo much fun! I would have given them 5 stars if they were better organized! When I booked, I got several emails about being on time/coming in 10-15 minutes before the time of my reservation. We showed up about 20 minutes early. We walked in and checked into our reservation and then were told to take a seat. We did, but then were asked to move and were moved into a corner. We sat there for a bit, eventually someone asked if we checked in. We did and told them our names and then the guy disappeared! We eventually went to go see what was going on, it was past 9 at this point (reservation was for 8:45) and they said they were waiting on 2 more people. They eventually told us how to put on our sensors etc. it was well after 9 at this point and then the other 2 people came. It took an additional amount of time to get them into their system. Eventually prob around 9:30, we were finally put into the room to play our game! The game itself was super fun and more tiring than expected! The game was worth the chaos as it was such a cool experience and we got a free 5 minute video to take home. So I would do this again, but def not arrive early or even worry about being late! I do love how much stuff is popping up in the city foundry! read more

Would give zero stars. Glitched out for more than half of our experience. After 5+ interruptions, battery replacements, etc the experience was over. I was without a headset for more than 5 minutes while the game was stopped while my family members waited. When they resumed the game, he forgot to give me weapons. Three other players also experienced tech issues. We spent half the time waiting around for fixed. Problems happen, we get it but the more egregious part was the terrible customer service afterwards. The manager offered nothing to compensate us for our bad experience. He was not at all friendly. He was barely verbal but managed to say we'd have to contact someone afterward. I've been wanting to try out a VR experience for a while and decided to visit Sandbox for a date night with my partner. I was very nervous not knowing what to expect but we had an amazing time! We were greeted as soon as we walked in and our guide/host came shortly after to prep us for our VR experience. Shoutout to Shawn! He did an amazing job walking through everything, getting our equipment on, and troubleshooting any issues that came up during our experience. The only reason I am giving this review 4 stars is that my partner kept losing visuals during our experience and at one point we had to stop the whole thing because he couldn't see anything anymore. Shawn was great though with giving us tips and was helpful and attentive. In the end, we were able to watch a video of our experience and we were able to access it for free. Overall really fun experience. I recommend wearing light comfy clothing because it did get warm in there from all the movement! If you haven't been I highly recommend grabbing a few friends or your partner and checking it. read more

The staff barely explained anything to us, had difficulty setting up the equipment, and then when we finally got into the game, we had technical difficulties for 15/30 minutes of the game time. Afterwards, they claimed that the issues were not severe enough to warrant a rebooking.
