This was an awesome experience. We had a blast. We went for a friends birthday party. They had a virtual birthday party for him on the game, complete with singing and a birthday cake. I absolutely love VR and have experienced VR on multiple platforms. One of the best features of Sandbox VR is that you have a vest that provides feedback and you have wrist and ankle monitors. This allows you to play games without having a controller in your hand which is great for games like Squid Games and Seekers of the Shard, where you use your non weapon hand to throw magic. Even though the rooms look massive, reduce each wall by about 2 feet or so and that's the boundaries of the VR box. It is still a lot of room, but it becomes crowded with 6. I'd prefer to have 3-4 people as this is the sweet spot. You WILL be moving around and the space adds to the immersion. Some of the games require you to reach out and touch other players to "revive" them but you don't actually have to touch each other, just get your hand close enough. It's a really cool mechanism but could be awkward when playing with people you don't know well enough. Overall a very good experience despite us having some initial issues with lagging in some of our groups headsets, but the staff fixed them quickly and the game is paused when this happens so you don't lose too much of the experience as long as you report it quickly. I was a bit nervous about the idea of VR because I didn't want to have things flying at me but the experience much more approachable! We did the squid games version because we wanted more games than violence and it was competitive and easy to follow. The staff is amazing, Kristin helped get us all set up and she was friendly and helpful. Watching the video back was so funny too. Perfect for a group of 5-6! read more

We had an amazing time at Sandbox VR! I've used PlayStation VR and Oculus before, but never in a full group setting. This took things to a whole new level. Once we were geared up, it truly felt like stepping into another world. They offered several adventures, but we chose Seekers of the Shard since it lets you hack through enemies with melee combat and cast spells. It was surprisingly active, lots of movement and swinging, so it doubled as a fun little workout! As a bonus, they send you a highlight video of your session at no extra cost, which is such a great keepsake. Can't wait to go back and try the other experiences! read more

We came here for a children's birthday party, the employee Sandra Dee that was in charge of our group was rude to our children the entire party. I confronted her and she was not receptive. I talked to the manager and she apologized and said she was aware and had over heard it all, but she never intervened. I don't recommend. read more

So. Much. Fun. We got to experience this cool place tonight at a Yelp! Elite event. My friend and I arrived somewhat early and got to be in the first group to have an experience. Thankfully I was able to get the others in our group to NOT do a zombie related experience so we agreed on Squid Game! They gave us anklets and bracelets to strap on and a vest that rumbled / vibrated at times. Then a VR mask that fit over my glasses and a headset over that. The instructions were clear and our room host was Kristen. She helped us get setup and settled in with the rules. Then let the games begin! 40-45 minutes of almost an aerobic workout punching and grabbing and ducking and swatting and laughing and dying before coming back to do more. There was even a great breeze in the room to keep us cool. I'm just surprised how sweaty I was after! So much fun! Afterwards, you get to cool off (from the workout) and watch a video of your scores and actions in the lobby area. It was Hilarious. I've since looked up the pricing and at ~$60 + tax per person, this would be a great group activity for a bachelor or bachelorette party for folks who don't drink, a birthday party, youth group, or family get-together/reunion. Def recommend this experience. They do have a family/children friendly experience to choose from too. read more

5-5. Such a fun experience. I didn't know what to expect but the VR is so lifelike and you feel like you're actually in the game. We did Squid Game and while the engine was a bit clunky the game was so much fun. I would like to go back and try the zombie games as I think that might be both scary and fun. My experience at Sandbox was really good overall. It's such a cool, singular experience. Very fun, often scary (at least, for the game I was playing). Very immersive and state of the art. I had an enormous amount of fun playing a zombie game with my group of six. On the flip side, several people in my group (not me, fortunately) experienced minor technical difficulties and the game had to be paused while it was worked out. Nothing crazy though. Additionally, it's a very pricey experience - over 50 bucks. But, honestly, felt satisfied. And it was very warm in there, it's an exercise playing these games and it would've been nice to have a/c turned on. The place offers you three videos of your experience which is nice, however they're poorly edited and very brief. Maybe a minute of random clips of your in-gameplay / real life experience. I would've appreciated access to more footage of us playing the game. I also would've appreciated more intentional editing - perhaps instead of showing the video immediately following the game play, the video could be edited and sent out to the provided emails a week following the event. That would be alright. read more

I was really pumped up about shooting some zombies. So, they only had four rooms, and two of the rooms were down. They said they were having technical issues, and we're really backed up and couldn't probably get us in until 4 hours later. Just warning that some other reviews stated technical issues, so if you go, it may not be available. Hopefully, they can get it together. It looks really nice in there, and I look forward to trying them sometime in the future. One more thing that was strange when first walked in I had to walk towards the back to find a worker. There was no employee at the entrance. When found, they were very nice and attentive. I know nowadays that it's hard to get workers, but I just thought there would at least be someone in the front for people who walk in. But like I stated, hopefully, they will get it together because it's different and would like to see it be around for a long time. read more

I paid online for my wife and I to try it out and when we showed for my appointment the manager hadn't showed up that day and was completely understaffed on a Saturday night. No one spoke to us for 45 min until we called corporate for a refund. The coroporate guy in charge of refunds then refunded the money to someone else's card and said he couldn't do anything about it. I've called everyone I can and still have yet to get a refund. It's crazy! read more

The VR experience itself? Super fun (provided your gear is working). The logistics and administration? Complete disaster. I held my birthday here on 13 January 2024 and brought 25 guests, representing more than $1000 of revenue for the business. I was adamant that everyone arrive on time as the facility includes a lot of warnings about the inability to maintain timeslots if your group is late. Every single one of my 25 guests was ready 20 minutes early (waivers signed), for pre-paid reservations ranging from 5:15 PM to 6:00 PM. I was told on arrival that the facility was running 20-30 minutes behind, and asked if that was okay. I let the employee know I had dinner reservations at 7:00 PM so a small delay would not be catastrophic but it was essential that we get people in and out as quickly as possible. The last session BEGAN their experience at 8:00 PM, and approximately half of my 25-person group completely missed my birthday dinner despite the fact that I had reserved 2.5 hours (7:00 PM - 9:30 PM) at a nearby establishment. It's not hard to see why everything got so delayed; in my session alone, we waited easily 20 minutes from ultimately failed attempts to fix a headset (at some point I said we just have to proceed, you can't keep trying to fix this), and the session had to be stopped at least three times because one of the sensors on a participant's gun failed and showed the gun pointing backwards constantly. I was absolutely humiliated in front of all my friends and family - several of whom drove two hours or more to pay $100+, wait in a mall for 2.5 hours for an error-ridden experience, then skip my birthday dinner and say goodbye. What a debacle. Shooting zombies was really fun when it worked. Update: After reaching out to corporate regarding my experience, I'm pleased to say they responded and refunded my entire experience. Things go wrong in any business; a great business distinguishes itself by making things right when they can. Thanks! read more

Came in last minute for a bachelor party and had an absolute blast. There was one employee named Lex who helped my group throughout our experience and she was incredibly friendly and helpful, so much so that my group and I continued to talk about how enjoyable she made the experience after we had left. I will definitely be back here because it was a really awesome experience getting to be in a video game with my friends, and I will definitely ask for Lex too because she was awesome! read more

DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY! The equipment doesn't work! It happened to many different groups over the last couple of months. They are understaffed and cannot manage the many different issues that happen in each room. They also will not give refunds, only credit...why would I want to come back for another bad experience? read more
