This is a lot of fun. We went here for a birthday party yesterday and it was a lot of fun and we played games. My youngest really enjoyed it. My oldest really enjoyed it. I really enjoyed it. We all had a great time. They have a lot of different varieties of games and activities to play basketball ring toss had lasers all kinds of fun stuff. We will definitely be back.

Activate Games is a new age style arcade experience that involves a very hands on and physical and super fun experience. This location is in Lousiville off hurstbourne lane. I recently attended a birthday party here for my daughters friends and it looked fun so I paid my own way to join in on the activities. So you get a wrist bands and pay $25 and get like a little over an hour of time to participate. They give you wrist bands and you register your name to an email to create a player account. They have 11 rooms with different themes (could be a target shooting and lazer dodge, basketball hoops, throw ball at target, wall climbing, hide and seek, etc). Each room has 4 diffrent style games for that area. You choose the one you want and choose a 1-10 level. 1 being easiest. All rooms are kind of a team building Setup and you can have as many as 5 people in a room. The rooms all have names to them and you walk up to a device on the wall and scan your wrist band and your name will pop on the screen. All players wanting to participate will scan the badge. The screen will have your 4 game styles along with a small how to play description. You have your 1-10 levels at the bottom and once all is selected you press start. If nobody is in the doors will pop open. If the room is occupied you will wait a moment until they are done. All games are timed and uses lights or colors as prompts. Usually green is what you can step on or climb on or can go. Red is bad and blue is a target to try and hit Depending on each game. All games are timed and only a min or so per level. If you fail level you get zero points. If you pass level you get points and as long as nobody is waiting behind you then you can hit a button on the wall to try the next level. Your time only comes off from actual game play time. So go at own pace. But once the doors open your time starts quick so you have to get through the doors quick. I will say participating here was some of the most fun I've had In a long time. Me and my kids loved this. Our personal favorite was the "seek" room where we played a game where you have an eye on each of the 4 walls with with buttons underneath all over. In the center of the Room is a wall column. So the goal in this is to hit all the lit up buttons and count in order up to 15. All the buttons light up and have numbers above them and spread out over all 4 walls. Every few seconds you will have a warning about the eye opening up and shooting a laser out. You have to get behind the column and avoid the laser and strategize who is going for the next available numbers when the eye shuts back off. It was a blast but so was all the other rooms as well. As you complete levels you earns stars. You have a kiosk out in main lobby to check your status. They have a reward programs as you level up based on earned stars where you get prizes. For instance we reached level two which means when we checked out we got "activate" water bottles. The cool thing is when you get the prize you don't start over on the next visit. You just work your way to the next prize track. So you can eventually earn all prizes. I believe the final level prize is 50 percent off for life. So pretty cool perks system. Part of the admission is you do get a personalized locker to put your stuff in for safe keeping. You can also go to a photo area in the center of the lobby and scan your wrist band to get a free special photo emailed to the attached email You registered with. Overall this was an amazing experience and we had so much fun. We absolutely will be back and back often. Such a cool, innovative and fun experience. Glad we have one here in Lousiville.

Needed a fun activity to do while my sister came to visit. Man, we enjoyed ourselves! This place can definitely replace your cardio. We sure got us a good workout in! We had to find a good food spot afterwards! Highly recommend!

After being lucky enough to enjoy Activate at a Yelp event, I brought back my family of boys and best friend. Activate was gracious about moving our reservation (as promised) when I decided a Saturday would be better than a weeknight. The games are interactive and I wasn't sure I'd have the energy after work/school. We booked for Saturday at 2p. The team also was great about adding my best friend to our group. He originally went to the website but when it appeared he had to book a minimum of 3 people, it was easier to call. Activate also accepts walk ins but they do limit the number of players at any one time. Bookings are $25 pp for 75 minutes. You can buy 30 additional minutes for $10. Bracelets are worn and scanned for lockers and gaming. Before you leave the bracelets can be turned in. Work out clothes are your best choice. Your heart rate will rise and you'll sweat. Be smart about shoes too - remember, it's a work out! Water fountains are by the restrooms and they have a filling station for water bottles. I also appreciate the hand sanitizer located in a few spots. Games require a minimum of 3 people and max of 5. Each run 1-3 minutes. If no one is waiting in line to play your team will be invited to do an instant replay. When selecting your game and level the screen will offer a small set of rules but some games are tough and confusing. You'll have to play a few times to understand. Don't get frustrated! Plus the workers outside the room can offer advice. Everyone is so friendly. Age of players is recommended as 10+ but if a parent is playing that's flexible. Know your kid and their level of frustration with games designed as brain teasers. For those under 15 years a parent needs to be present although not required to play. What to expect with games: shooting targets, avoiding lasers, shooting hoops, climbing rock walls, running around the room to step on floor squares, throwing balls to light up sequences and more.

Ages late 30's early 40's We had a blast. Very challenging physically and mentally. Groupon had a discount offer and that was a bonus. Great location, restaurants to eat at and shops, plenty of parking, there's lockers available good size and included in the cost of admission. I did not see the restrooms.

They have a rewards program now!

We had a party of eight that they accommodated. Among other large parties we saw. The ambience of the place is so nice so retro. There are about 3 to 4 separate corridors within the building that hold different rooms. Two of them are JUST games. One is half tables half games and then one is just bar and tables. In the summer they have a window that lifts up where you can sit on their patio too. I got a house margarita which I ordered two of because the first one was so good. It was a celebration for my mother-in-law's birthday so she just got a regular beer, but the service was still good amongst all opinions . The bartenders were in good moods and the staff was still super nice and kind even though they were swamped. ----- The FOOD. UNMATCHED! To be THAT busy and push out food of the quality we received is mind blowing!! Good job! I've been here before but no one else had. Note! They only have tater tots. No fries. So I got the Always Sunny Totchos. HALF ORDER Their tots with queso (amazing) & SHREDDED STEAK, GRILLED ONIONS & PEPPERS To dieeee for! So delicious. Then I got wings to go; sauce on the side. COOKED TO Perfection! Buffalo, bourbon bbq, and ranch. My husband got the Mikey Likey burger and he said it was great. (ITALIAN SEASONED PATTY, WARM MARINARA, MELTED MOZZARELLA, PEPPERONI & BANANA PEPPERS) His sister got the "it's a wrap" and she enjoyed it. His mom got the "cougar bait tacos" and loved them. Can't remember what everyone else got because I was on the other side of the table, but everyone enjoyed it. Overall fantastic food! really interesting items. There are so many things on their menu I want to try. I just would probably go on a day they are not so busy. ---- Last notes, their games operate off of tokens that they have machines for that take $1, $5, $10, $20 & it's 25c for each token technically. During my visit, both were out of order so the hostess said that you have to go to the bar and you can swipe your debit card in exchange for tokens, which is a little inconvenient so we didn't do that. But no biggie. I had 4 tokens because it took $1 so she got to play Pac-Man twice and she was happy lol Additionally parking is a little rough when they are busy. Overall great place. Be patient. And maybe try a Thursday instead haha

We did add an order of garlic bread which had the consistency of a crouton but was still pretty good. No complaints about the food at all. Where I am going to complain is the $54.99 unlimited play. My son has passed and this would have been his fourth birthday. Every year we have gone to this location on his birthday and tried to win as many tickets as we can and then pass them along to a kid. Generally we do pretty well and it makes the kids day. With the unlimited play option we were under the impression we could play for 90 minutes any game which we hoped we give us the opportunity to win lots of tickets. The server didn't tell us anything else other than that was an option. Once we tried swiping the card, we learned that not only were we limited to certain games we could play with the card but it capped us off at 1500 tickets which completely defeated the purpose of why we were there. I actually hit a 1000 ticket jackpot on a game but because I was near my max I only got 2 tickets and that's when we realized what was going on. Also, It didn't take anywhere near 90 minutes to hit that max. We wish we would have had the unlimited play explained to us better because we would not have chose that option at all since it didn't fit our needs and I would have spent the extra money to get the 900 credits for $120.

The bad? Not much support from the kitchen. No-one's food came out at the same time. Some were literally finishing their dinner when others were just being served. It shouldn't be so hard to get 10 orders of burgers & fries to come out at the same time. My wife ordered Elotes Cauliflower and a side of crisps & guacamole. They were served last. And the cauliflower came out ice cold. To her credit, Mia went straight to the kitchen and the kitchen manager came out to apologize and remade the order. Wings are on special this month on Thursdays. 20 for $20. I went with 10 Nashville and 10 Lemon Pepper. I didn't realize the Nashville wings were sauced. I prefer dry rub, like the lemon pepper. Still, both flavors were pretty darn good. Just a little messy. Thankfully, wet wipes came with the wings. The wings were on the small side, but at that price, a bargain. The ranch dressing that came with the wings? Thin with Zero flavor. It barely "stuck" to the celery sticks. Overall, everyone enjoyed their meal. And the kids had fun in the game area. The restaurant, game room and restrooms were very clean. A little better coordination in the kitchen would have turned a good night into a great night.
