I returned with my family for Mother's Day. This was my first experience booking the visit and it was easy. After visiting the website I chose the location, date, and time. A credit card is needed for the reservation. You have 3 hours ahead of time to cancel for a full refund: Five minutes before our reservation, I got a text to head to our course. Makayla set up our team and the ball assignment. We had a great time competing. The opportunity to win and lose points kept the top scores changing. Puttshack is great if you're looking for the putt-putt experience. Outside of that, it's a super casual atmosphere serving up food that is mediocre at best and slow service even in their down time. Had a nice time on a Sunday afternoon. Go as soon as they open to avoid the crowds. It's worth it to just get the "all you can play" package because a round of 9 only takes about 10 minutes. It would be nice if the courses were a bit more different as a lot of the holes are the same with only 1-2 unique on each course. We didn't try the food. It's nice that they have a cocktail waitress option. I'd come back with more people. read more

This is one of the most strangest experiences I ever had. My friend and I booked online to make reservations. By the time we got there for our reservations for mini golf. We were there for first time. However it was Saturday evening and it was pretty much busy and I didn't expect to see that many kids and families around. It is nothing wrong. I thought it was only for 21+ for this place and maybe it was the after-hours. Anyway, we check in at the kiosk and told us where to go. We went to the spot and found out that we are going to stand in the line and wait to check in again for our balls to play. It was quite difficult because we spend a lot of time standing and waiting before we could play next courses. After the first course, we decided to end it early and get the money back because we didn't know what to except. Unfortunately they do not give the money back but they give you free game to come back in other time when it is not too busy which we will definitely do that. One other thing is when you buy beer. You will have to move away from the bar because it was reservation for people who sit at the bar. I find it odd. But I guess that what it is. I didnt make sense to me about the reservation for play because I felt that it was too many people at that point. I would come back when it is not too busy. read more

A fun outing with family & friends! We were able to walk in around 5:30 on a Friday night. Easy check in for our 9 hole game. Bar service was quick & efficient with very decent old fashioned orders. This is such a fun place! I went for an event and had to go through the putt game fairly quickly, but it's such a cool concept. Several putt courses that each have individual games or themes, making it even more fun! While I didn't eat or drink while I was there, they have a fully stocked bar and delicious looking bites that I plan to come back and check out. Putt-putt has come a long way since I was a kid. What happened to the windmill and allligator's mouth. With multiple courses and nine holes at each this was fun and frustrating all at the same time. The different challenges tested your accuracy and pretend golf skills. The leaderboard lets everyone know that you're a pro in your own mind. The restaurant and bar has everything PGA hopefuls desire especially drinks wise to help you forget that a 6 year old just ran the score up on you. And they have an ice team sundae that is not for the weak. This was a great spur of the moment idea. read more

I was really excited when Puttshack opened. But when we finally got a chance to try it out my expectations were set too high. This is an arcade style experience. Very often you will get the hole in one or two shots. You are more so going after the "game" of the hole. Some have trivia, some have little games. It's a cool concept but each person is only playing this hole for a couple minutes at most. The experience just seems very short. The drinks were ok, maybe a little on the water down side so maybe your mileage may very. Very awesome atmosphere however, every thing is built really well and the bar area is very awesome. Not a place I plan on going to often but maybe with a group of people it would heighten the experience. read more

Decent idea, poor execution. It is an interesting idea to have a technologically enhanced putt putt course and the course ideas are great. But, this came at the cost of it actually working the whole time. In 9 holes my group had to exchange their balls for new ones over 5 times as the trackers would not work. They had to fix the course sensor once because it wouldn't sense any of the balls. Most importantly, some of the courses are straight up impossible for a lefty. I couldn't stand of the. purse and hit the ball. I had to hit right handed which was worse than just standing off the course and hitting normally. This one course sold my game because I physically couldn't hit the ball normally. If I wanted to hit it lefty/normally I had to stand off the course and one leg around the wall so I had to hit it righty which was extremely harder. Another issue is that they placed a giant number marker directly behind where you must place your ball. You have to place your ball here or else it doesn't count because it won't track it. But this giant number marker makes it so you cannot bring the putter back far enough to hit a ball with decent power. It's like this on only some holes. Also the main bar does not have a lot of their drinks. They only had one bartender, on top of this, to get a root beer they had to go to their bar jon the back which took them a long time. (Around 10+ minutes) The idea is overall good but needs some major tweaks to make it great. They need to think about lefties and some courses had lefties at a disadvantages. I like the idea though a lot and think some people should try it. In summary, great ideas but needs polishing because it doesn't work well. I did enjoy most holes and the experience but there was just too many issues. It is also incredibly hot inside. Outside it was freezing and snowing but inside I was burning. Depending on the person that can either be good or bad. But for me it was the experience a lot worse as I was constantly overheating. Edit: We just played another home one of the holes is so broken that if you hit it in one of the holes it takes your ball and you have to get a new one. This place feels like a half thought. We lost two balls in a row. They just had to shut down the hole we were on. ‍ So many errors and mistakes. There are holes that if you hit your ball into is a guaranteed hole in one but even those didn't work some of the time. read more

Stopped in for a cocktail and a visit with a friend as well as a quick walk around the venue. Appreciated the very noticeable security staff on the premises and meet-and-greet screening at the entry door. Times we're living in and all .... Restrooms are clean and appear well maintained. This was a Friday night at 9 PM, so a DJ was in the front booth amping up the atmosphere with a moderate sound level of music. It was still possible to have a usual volume conversation. I sat at the large rectangular bar near the front entry and it was a great view of the action. Bartenders were all very pleasant and welcoming. My first choice was for a cold brew espresso martini; however, the bartender told me there was no coffee and to please make another selection. My second choice was a "peach tea on peach tree". It was okay, nothing phenomenal. My visit was short and sweet. I might revisit if I happen to be in the area, but not likely to view it as a specific destination. read more

Great place for both kids and adults. When you first come in, you check in at their kiosks. Then you go to the area where you collect your ball. Someone will be there to get you going. Your ball will be registered to your name. So you should see your name on the screen once you place the ball in the put area. They also have a nice size bar and dining area. No Food ~I stopped in to have 'The Spiced Pineapple Mezcal Margarita " I had this drink last year and the bartender then was fantastic great ~ suggested this Drink made it perfectly I cannot recall his name. At the time they were out of the drink mix to make me another he even checked with the mgr and I checked in several times while in the area they were still out of it. I come in today and the bartender Stacy extremely rude ~ to everything asked for ~ asked for light ice I get less drink .... Very condescending as I expressed my prior visit went nothing like this !!! Of course she didn't care. For $16.96 you can provide a full drink as I had received previously needless to say I don't want any service from her ever again! I don't care about how many nights you work here 5 days ~ I have referred my friends to come try this drink however my recommendation NOT from this rude condescending bartender. I have seen indoor putt putt places all over other cities and always wanted to be able to have one near me, so you best believe that I was super excited to hear about Puttshack!! For starters, I was pretty impressed with how easy it was to make day-of reservations for a Saturday, both for golf and dining. I had assumed they would have been booked only being open a little over a month now. The vibe of this place is so fun. Colorful, quirky and zany mini golf holes decorated in all kinds of fun ways - truly different than any other place I have been! You can do just 9 holes or add on an additional 9 to make a full 18 hole game. Visiting on a Saturday, it was packed as expected. We did have to wait in a bit of a line throughout the course, however it didn't take too long and you can order drinks at any point while playing. All of the staff here were so friendly and eager to provide a great experience. Dining here is alright, we shared a couple of appetizers and ordered drinks. While the lamb skewers were fantastic, I was pretty disappointed in their tiny appearance and only receiving three. The buffalo chicken dip was a much better appetizer option, and came with the option to add in italian sausage and bleu cheese. I also loved the fun cocktails on their menu! The service was really slow, but again, it was a Saturday night. I'm so happy to have Puttshack in town and definitely plan on coming back to try the other courses! read more

This review is strictly based on my experience playing mini-golf and not based on the quality of food/service. I'm always looking for something fun to do or to take my wife and I out for a date and tonight I decided that we would check out the newest mini/golf venue in Louisville, Puttshack. Puttshack is an indoor mini-golf place that offers a full service bar along with food and appetizers. On this particular visit we decided only to check out their mini-golf offerings and we were not at all disappointing. You can either book your reservation online via their website or you can purchase a round of golf on site at one of their various kiosks. Prices for a round of golf on this visit was $14 per person and I didn't see if there was any discounts for groups of three or more since this was just myself and my wife. Once you check-in you are told a particular course to go to and play. There are three different courses Amber, Emerald and Ruby which is further back in the venue. The one thing I noticed upon check-in is that you do not get your pick of which course to select as each of the three courses have different types of holes to play however, after our first round of golf we asked an employee if we could switch and they let us do if you do want to play a different course just ask if you can switch. How this type of mini golf works is that you check in and you are given a ball that is tied to each player where each player has to tap their own name and they are given their own ball. The golf balls themselves each use a smart tracking feature built into the ball that is able to track every time you take a shot and also each hole has a monitor that tells you how many points each player in your group has (or just yourself if you decided to play alone) and also keeps track of when it's you're turn to take your shot. The one problem myself and others encountered was that, at times, the tracking software didn't track when you'd hit your ball at the tee so you'd have to take your turn again if so. This did happen to us a few times but it wasn't that much of an annoyance. The only other thing you'll have is waiting for a party in front of you to take a turn and especially if it happens to be a busy evening such as this visit where it was a Saturday night around 10pm. Each course has 9 holes and each hole has various challenges such as. Super tube you can try and hit which essentially gives you a hole-in-one and there are also holes that have either true or false or category based and to answer you have to hit your ball to a particular point on the hole and you get bonus points. Games take about 15-20 minutes to play depending on your group size and how busy the venue happens to be. Other than that, Puttshack also provides a DJ on the weekends, lots of seating and various food offerings. I absolutely would come back here especially with friends and Puttshack makes for a great place to take a date as well as a great way to break the ice with someone you're meeting. read more

Fun time for a date or a group to visit. Three or four indoor nine hole putt putt courses. Full bar and restaurant area as well. Service the two times I've been there and sat at the bar has been less than optimal. The staff greeting you at the door explaining the golf and the people at the courses were all more than helpful. Located on the backside of Oxmoor mall. We parked near Top Golf and had no issues locating Puttshack. My husband booked our reservation before our arrival. Our only issue was some people in our party were unable to change their name on the website. Thankfully when we got to our course staff assisted with changing our names. I was shocked at how huge the space was! Two bars, a kitchen and four 9 hole courses. The first course we played was a little congested so we played out our order. You are able to play out of order but can only play 9 last as it takes your ball. There are QR codes along the course and staff walking around to take drink orders. We had so much fun that we booked to stay and play a second game. I'm new to the golf world and really enjoyed playing... didn't feel that it took "skill" to do well. The music did not bother me as others have complained. My husband and I ordered an old fashioned cocktail. Our drink tasted great and we liked the stamped ice cube! We will definitely be back and look forward to trying food on our next visit. read more

I enjoyed Puttshack. All of the staff was really friendly. I walked in the door and at least 2 people greeted me with friendly faces. I had the opportunity to sit at the bar while I waited for friends to arrive. The bartenders were friendly and my drink the peach tea on Peachtree was really good. We went on a weekday and was able to play the ruby course easily. However, I can see how if there was a large party or a weekend it may get a little congested. We were able to enjoy our drinks on the course and they have staff that can bring you drinks as well. There is even a table by each hole to place your drink on . We also enjoyed the food there. I appreciated their menu not being the standard gameplay menu (burgers, chicken tenders, pizza, and fries). Their men u included the standard gameplay menu plus Korean Bao Buns, Empandas, and Mediterranean lamb. We had to leave before 8, because a member in our party was under 21. Will definitely be returning after 8 to turn up with the adults. read more

3.5 star rating Puttshack in Louisville has recently opened and our family went for a 9-hole round. It's located in Oxmoor Mall near Top Golf. Booking is easy online, adults are $14 and kids under a certain age are $9. It's for a 9-hole course. Instructions said to arrive 15 minutes early but when we arrived they made us wait outside in the cold. When we were allowed to enter you had to check in with your reservation number on a very short screen. Staff then pointed you past the restaurant and bars areas to your location. As someone who has never been before it was a bit confusing to find the right course. When we arrived staff went over a few ground rules and sent us on our way. Each person is assigned a ball and each person must finish hole before next person can start. The course includes a lot of hole-in-one possibilities and was a pretty easy course. Scoring is different too - you want to have the highest score. You get bonus points along the way. The first hole was pretty easy and even my kids made a hole-in-one and the last hole you just putt once for a final score. The restaurant and course look really cool but it's way overpriced for what you get. For a family of four it cost $46 for a 20 or so minute game. We did have bar service but by the time drinks came we were almost finished with the round. It's worth a stop by to check it out, but the mini golf isn't very challenging and holes are relatively short for the price. read more

The computerized aspect, the scoring bonus points as opposed to straight strokes to get the ball in the hole, and the ability to take your drink around the course made this a tremendous experience. We got beers at the big bar and was able to drink them while playing. The workers were really nice explaining how the games work. That was the first thing that I have to say is we were jampacked didn't really know where to go trying to figure out what to do but once we got in the rhythm, we figured it out. It went pretty smooth. There's only nine holes That you play when you go and they go pretty quickly I must say the longest part in the lines. But it was cool first interactive putt putt thing I've ever done before. The atmosphere was pretty neat. It was a little pricey for nine hoes, but I get it because it's all interactive and, it's just a nice little gimmick they have. I will go back. read more

My husband and I had a reservation for this past Friday night after having some issues with booking. Friday, the snow was piling up, so as we approached our reservation time, we called twice and waited on hold for multiple minutes trying to verify if Putt Shack was still open. No one ever picked up. We made the choice to try to drive there because we still wanted to play that night, and the roads were awful. We had never been to Putt Shack, and Google maps showed that it was located in the Oxmoor Center. We eventually made it to the Oxmoor Center parking lot, which was covered in snow, and started trying the doors. All doors were locked. We called again and no one picked up the phone. A reasonable person would look at all these factors and assume that Putt Shack was closed due to the weather. We called yesterday to see about getting a refund since it appeared that Putt Shack was closed. We were informed that they actually were open and that only a manager could issue a refund to us. We got ahold of the manager today and she informed us because we didn't do our due diligence, she would not be issuing us a refund. When asked if it was an issue of whether she can't or won't issue a refund, she stated she won't do it. I don't know about the average person, but I think calling an establishment multiple times for no one to answer the phone, driving through multiple inches of snow and ice, and arriving at where google maps says a business is located just for doors to be locked seems to be "due diligence" in trying to make it to our reservation. It is disappointing because we really wanted to try out Putt Shack as we love mini golf and we thought this would be really fun. But after all of this, especially the rude interactions we have had with the staff, we will not be going to Putt Shack, and we will be informing our friends to not go there either. I hope other people who have issues are met with more respect and understanding than my husband and I were met with. read more

I was pleasantly surprised with this place. Sometimes big chain event places like this can be a letdown when it comes to food and drinks or feeling like you've overpaid for an experience, but my friends and I had a very solid first experience at Puttshack. We played two rounds of putt-putt. The course we were supposed to start on was a little congested, but an employee quickly switched us over to a less crowded course. My one issue with the golf is it is very loud, so I could not hear the instructions from the employee (however, if noise is an issue, they do have sensory bags available which is great). Each hole has a table to put drinks and belongings on which I liked, and servers came around and took cocktail orders. I got the porn star martini, which was so delicious and a whole experience with the server pouring smoked champagne onto the drink. The rounds are only nine holes, so I recommend playing two or it feels a little too short. We ate at the restaurant as well, which is roomy and open and had a fun menu with better food than I expected. It's nothing spectacular and perhaps a little pricey but better than your average burgers and chicken fingers. We loved the Thai chicken appetizer and I had some pretty good poutine as well. The Korean bbq bao buns with jackfruit were a bit of a negative for me as they didn't have a lot of bbq flavor and I didn't expect them to be cold. This is was a fun experience that you can do in about two hours and I'll definitely be back. I would say, I would not try to play golf in a big group. The courses are small and there is not a lot of room to stand around. If you have a big group coming, I'd split up and then come back together for drinks and food in the dining area. Enjoyed a kids birthday here the other day. It's definitely a creative way to repurpose a big chunk of the mall. What I appreciated was that the various courses were varied and challenging but not too hard. It's a little cramped when there are crowds or if people are moving slowly ahead of you. Each round is for 9 holes, which only takes 30min, so either plan to play several or plan to do something else - either eat there or explore the mall. The server for the birthday group was extremely attentive and wanted to make sure the kids were happy and taken care of during and before golf. Not an easy group and she was all smiles. The pizza was pretty generic so I would not have high expectations for the food. But, the overall experience was fun and we will likely be back. read more

Puttshack is my new favorite find. It is a technologically advanced version of mini golf. I think they utilize a microprocessor but as a result, they pair your mini golf ball with you and help keep track of your score as you go through the course. We reserved a spot a few days in advance and came in to find that there were different courses depending on the color you were assigned. Each course had nine holes and at the end of it you got to see who was the winner. In the process, you have some fun cocktails that you also get to enjoy And afterwards you can enjoy some food. I & my friends went on a Monday evening, it was quiet & not busy! Looking at the dining half you would not guess that there's Fun located towards the back. The dining half looks so fancy! The employees took the time to thoroughly explain how check-in works for the putt putt half. We were seated. Our waitress & food arrival was timely! As noted with the photo, I ordered 2 shareables for myself! The Shiitake mushroom potstickers, the peach dipping sauce was fantastic paired with it! So much flavor in such little bites! By far my fav favorite of the two! The Persian chicken skewers were delicious as well especially with that lemon squeezed over top. I didn't realize that it would come with some flatbread, it probably said so in the description & I just didn't see it. A good surprise! As for playing putt putt, it was explained thoroughly, rules were easy to understand & follow. We were on the Amber course, it was easy to follow & each hole was self-explanatory! Our experience here on Thursday was a bummer. We booked a party of eight in advance for a specific time slot. We synchronized everybody's schedule and arrived in six different vehicles. We all love mini-golf and the business concept here seems really cool. We weren't able to start on time due to some technological issues Puttshack unexpectedly ran into. They asked our group to wait around, and we did so patiently. After an hour, they explained that the systems were just down and we'd have to reschedule and come back some other time. Tough luck everyone and see you later. Now, I don't mind that the systems were down. I'm sure Puttshack did their very best and the systems' issue was beyond their control. What was within their control, though, was how they handled the customer service side of the equation. And at this, they unfortunately failed. When you have eight people pre-paid, who set aside several hours of their day to commute to you and then they all wait around for an hour to be turned away, most businesses will feel some sense of responsibility and endeavor to make things right. Our party cumulatively wasted about 16 hours of time and invested over 100 miles of pointless driving. Puttshack could have at least said, "Hey guys, I'm so sorry we let you down today. We'd love for you to come back. We'll gladly give you 50% off of your next visit if you'll reschedule and give us another try." Easy, right? And so much better than the shrug and actionless apology we received. read more
