But in some ways, it was too much in a bad way. First the good: The birthday party was fun. I like the row of party areas -- you know just where to go when you come for one of these. And as part of the party package, guests can take part in two activities, and this is where Malibu Jack's shines. It has putt putt, a mini roller coaster, go karts, laser tag and more. It beats Main Event on this. So the not so hot: Birthday guests also get $10 game cards. But $10 lasts all of about 15 minutes, and that's if you're stretching it. Most of the games we saw were $2-$3.50 each. And then if you want to reload the cards, you have to put at least $20 on card -- which adds up fast if you're attending with multiple kids. And it felt like the games we did play were stingy with tickets, and when we went to the prize area, even little items cost at least 500-600 tickets. So cue the kiddo meltdowns after having to repeatedly say no, even after they won a few hundred tickets from a claw machine. I saw more than a few tears being shed. I just hosted a birthday party at Main Event (similar to the situation when I wrote my last Malibu Jack's review), so both experiences are fresh in my mind. And it seems to come down to this: If you (like my kids) are all about the games and tickets, go to Main Event. You can play more games for cheaper, and your tickets go further when you cash them in. If you want to do the other activities (like putt putt and go karts), go to Malibu Jack's. Both are fun -- it just depends on what you're into.

When you buy a pass, it's good for all day and you are allowed to leave and come back. Being located in a mall with a food court makes this incredibly awesome. Pause, walk to food, come back, amazing! Also makes coming with multiple family members great cause some can go shop while the others play. For the play areas, there is a smaller toddler area that's awesome. Small slights and things to climb on and this real cool bubble looking structure to climb into. It's big enough to keep them busy for a bit but eventually they'll want to go explore the "big kids" area. Next is an area with chairs to sit and eat snacks, parents to chill while their little play and there is an interactive floor that has a projector on it. You can step on graphics and they blow up. Pretty cool, kind of like a science center. Next is a big ball pit room! It has some crazy slides, TONS of ball, maybe a little deep for toddlers. There is a volcano like tower that normally would blast balls out the top but it's not very powerful and was barely working for us. The slides are pretty steep but very fun! While it's cool there are tons of balls, it's really deep for some of the kids to get out of the stairs part cause it's so deep. After that there is a room with cannons that launch balls at an interactive screen. This would have been the coolest part but the cannons don't shoot hard enough and often get clogged if someone sticks a big ball in it. Last is a slide where you have to get on an inter tube with a hard bottom. The worker sprays soapy water on the bottom and you go down suuuuper fast then immediately STOP! This is because the floor at the bottom is rubber and it stops you way too quick. I watch many kids get whip last from this. I get it, cause there isn't much room if you didn't stop but man it can be rough if you aren't expecting it. Other than that there are corridors with cool parkour type obstacles and things to jump on. Very fun! There are also snacks and waters to buy, the bathroom are in another room with plenty of space and they are family bathrooms. Also a good space that's away from the rest in case a kid is over stimulated. Great place! Great value since it's all day long! Way better priced than similar players in Louisville.

The staff is very nice and accommodating, especially by opening up the colorful tube slide so my kids could enjoy it even though they were short staffed. I appreciated that very much. There is plenty of indoor seating for parents to keep an eye on the littles. As an extra perk they have the riding animals and the kids love going through the mall on them. For a full day of indoor play the price is not bad at all. My only suggestion is that they had free wifi so I could work on my computer. So it caught my attention. Today after having lunch at Ciao with my wife and my youngest daughter who is one we noticed they had there small spray ground going and it wasn't crowded. It was 90 degrees so we pulled over and said "why not, looks like a cool park". The park has some public restrooms, a tiny skate park, a playground, some swings and a little spray ground. My one year old who just started walking a few weeks ago had yet to experience a splash pad or spray ground so this tiny bit crowded concrete one was a perfect introduction. She loved it! She showed no fear or hesitation and she played hard! The playground was pretty updated and nice and we spent some time on that. I didn't have my older daughters with me but I'm sure they would have loved the skate park. It wasn't very big. But it looked cool and there aren't many skate parks in Louisville so it's nice to know about another one that exists. The only downfall to this park I have to put back on the city. The two trash cans in the parking lot were overflowing. And trash was blowing everywhere. It was obvious someone had a birthday party there over the weekend. We visited on a Monday around 130pm so they had ample time to get a crew out there to touch up. I didn't dare walk in the bathrooms to see them after looking at the trash in the parking lot. Overall still this is a super nice and fun park. Kids are in there last week of school so not sure how crowded this place gets. But if it doesn't get too bad I'd like to take my older kids back for the skate park and let my two youngest go wild in The splash park.
