It was better than laser tag and paintball. The three employees there were incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and--most importantly--fun and obviously loved their jobs. The 7 boys enjoyed a full hour of different games with Nerf Rival shooters, including Capture the Flag. The place is huge and has many great hiding/attack spots for participants. It was clean, safe (everyone is required to wear safety goggles and can wear helmets if they choose), refs ensure that everyone is honest (these boys did a great job on their own), and it kept them active and entertained the entire time. The staff aptly explained the rules and demonstrated how to load and shoot the blasters. Did I mention how nice the employees are? One of them even jumped in to even the teams after one had a winning streak. The balls didn't hurt at all, despite getting pelted with them many times as I was taking pictures. I thought I heard faint cries of "That's for making me clean my room," but I'm certain they were accidental hits. :) Booking online was so very easy and their online waiver made it super easy for parents to sign it before we arrived. They asked each of us why we'd were taking the class and genuinely tried to tailor the experience and instructions to meet as many people's requests and needs as possible which I greatly appreciated. They went above and beyond to make us feel special and took time to answer all of our food and kitchen related questions, even if it didn't relate to sushi. We have tried making sushi at home before but always felt like something was missing or we would struggle with certain aspects of the process. However, many of the people in the course had never made sushi before so this was a great class for beginners of all skill levels! Besides the sushi rice & tempura shrimp tails being pre made and some of the sauce ingredients being pre-portioned out, we made all of the other filling ingredients! We started by learning the best way to julienne a cucumber for sushi rolls & then how to slice up an avocado. Once that was done, we made a marinade for each of our fresh tuna steaks and were able to sear them to our liking! Once all of our ingredients were prepped, we rolled two different sushi rolls, one with shrimp & one with tuna and both were so tasty. What I truly loved was that everyone had their own ingredients to make their own two rolls. This allowed each of us to not only have an abundance of food at the end, but we also got to test our own skills out and learn from hands on experience. I can't wait to bring these new skills to life in my own kitchen. We also got a miso soup at the end which was amazing. This was money well spent and I'm looking forward to more classes in the future!

Both models were 2 floors generally nice. I did like this most recent one better because it had a front deck and way better seating areas in my opinion. Staff were nice. The bar/snack options were only okay in my opinion. Very limited to type of drinks they could mix and also a tiny bit of inconsistency depending on who made the drink. The drinks were reasonably priced. The rental package I guess required a meal plan - which chips and salsa and veggie tray were chosen. They also sold a few snacks at the bar (a few typical bar snacks). We were able to use our own device to place music via an aux. It was a 2 hr event, we had so much fun the time went by really fast. When booking a private cruise, it is mandatory to select a food package so keep in mind that the price of the boat you see online does not initially include the total of the food costs and the additional taxes and fees. The staff have always been so nice and really create a fun environment. It always goes by fast because we are all having so much fun! In our ideal world we would have gone 6v6. I think if you go a group of 6-8 is the ideal. While we had fun, I think they do too many games which doesn't give you time to actually complete all of them. They pack 6(?) into an hour which includes some additional challenges. While I understand the challenges are there to get more people involved, I wanted to play the games longer so I do wish you could say ahead of time what things you're interested in vs. not. All in all, it was a fun experience, at just under $40 a person, this is not something we'd do often.
