There is no dedicated parking structure, at least that we could find! There is plenty of street parking on surrounding blocks, but pay attention to signage, as some is permit only parking! The space itself is adorable: a small lobby with refreshments, updated gender neutral private toilet spaces, and a theater that boasts the most intimate setting to get lost in the show. Now, I would say there isn't a bad seat in the house because it's so intimate BUT the way the upper balcony seats are arranged, if you get a spot against the wall, you will have an almost entirely obstructed view by others seated in front of you. These tickets are noted on the website as obstructed, and I usually roll the dice since they are cheaper, but I'd say avoid at all costs unless you are seven feet tall ;) The acoustics were brilliantly clear for an older space and even in the side balcony, I felt like the actors were right in front of me! I was probably lucky to get a spot in the parking lot on a busy Saturday. It is a bit divey, but the bathrooms were clean. I was there for one of the post-spelling bee bands, so it was too late to try the pizza, and I was driving so I limited myself to ginger ale. One free refill for designated drivers is nice. For future reference, I noticed they had some unique cocktails and lots of THC gummy brands to choose from. I don't smoke and November isn't the greatest time to be on the patio, but I did make a trip to get off my feet for a bit and they had a firepit going. It's true there is no cover, but the night I was there, they had a Band Tip pitcher. I wish I'd had more cash with me. Sound was decent considering the small narrow room; I was still able to get video that I felt OK posting on YouTube. Located just steps away from the light rail in North Loop, The Fillmore is one of the newer Livenation venues that has 2 floors, a box office just outside, and expensive drinks. Note that if there's a show you want to go to, buying at the box office is cheaper than online with Ticketmaster. Saved $10 with a Troyboi ticket that way. Also as I said, the Filmore has some of the most expensive drinks in Minneapolis for no damn reason. $23+ for a mixed drink is a robbery. The sound is okay but not amazing, I think other venues actually have better sound especially since the layout of the building doesn't let the bass reverberate well. Overall it's an okay venue but I feel like it's potential was kneecapped by these issues.

We couldn't really afford the tickets as it was, but the company tricked us into buying the expensive tickets that don't have an extra perk or anything! The worst part is the experience ended early due to a gas leak issue and we still couldn't get that refund.

However, I came to Oya Arts with my Education Evolving team and I truly enjoyed making art thanks to Karen and the way she supported us and encouraged our creativity. It was probably my favorite team building event ever in along history of team building events. We created our art surrounded by her beautiful and inspiring works and in the presence of her incredible kindness. You will not find a better way to build team connection.
