I instantly fell in love with this adorable botique! The owner, Susan is so sweet! She was so cordial and welcoming, made us feel very at home. You won't get that stuffy feeling where you feel uncomfortable just browsing around. The merchandise is gorgeous! Wish I had an endless bank account - I could have easily went on a shopping spree here! The clothing items, clocks, and children's section all have wonderful offerings. In addition, in the very back is a caged area with a few small alligators --for the kids (and tourists) to marvel at. They do have a few tee shirts at a bargain price, but most things you will want to buy are about $25 and up. There were a few band shirts that would have been good Christmas gifts... but not at the prices listed. In any case, for those of us at a certain age, it's a nostalgia trip to smell the incense and walk through an homage to those head shops that used to dot every corner...

There is also a small cage at the back of the store that has two baby alligators; you can hold one of them at your own risk & get a photo with one for the low low price of ten dollars. (No thanks.) The store also sells some classic vinyl records & some colorful cardboard ornamental displays (roosters, birds, etc.) of different sizes that can be purchased & then assembled in just moments. This Key Largo for God's sake! It's not Miami! My first visit to the store and it was 9am Thursday morning. I was looking thru the moisturizers, creams and shampoos. The shelves were a complete mess. It was impossible to look for anything specific. I thought I would quickly look thru jeans and those were also a jumble. I gave up without purchasing. As I was about to leave, the loss prevention officer was checking the receipt against the purchases a family had just made at the cashiers about 10 feet away. Crazy! Unbelievably helpful even though the store was about to close for normal business hours. She did a great job helping me determine what selections to make. They had a great selection of merchandise based on the store size and, as usual, the quality was what you have come to expect from Orvis. I would love to go back and buy more but my wife would probably string me up.
