Arches National Park - View at the garden of Eden (not shown are the expansive distant views around the garden too, it's stunning!)

Stunning! Absolutely stunning!…read moreI've traveled on four continents and this is easily one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. Park Avenue was my favorite, then the Delicate Arch, but holy heavens, around literally every turn there was another absolute stunner of a view. I took easily 100 pictures during my relatively short time in the park. Then, when you drive back out, you see all the same stunning views, but at different angles, and you experience those things in a brand new way. This was easily the highlight of my 3,600 mile, 12-day, 9-state road trip. You have to come here, it is nearly unbelievable how beautiful it is. You have to experience it for yourself. Absolutely one of the most beautiful places in the US, without question!

This park's hikes follow one long main road that ends around a campsite area that goes to several arches including Broken Arch. I drove out their first and did this hike which is really more of a long trail. The arch was MUCH bigger than I'd expected, and it was cool to see! The weather wasn't the best -- scattered light showers creeping in but thankfully it never rained too heavily, and despite the trails being all sand/sandy dirt, my shoes stayed fairly dry and it didn't get too muddy. Along this trail are some other arches e.g. tapestry arch (there's three of them connected together). The trail is pretty flat and manageable for almost anyone, just a few areas that are a little more uphill than most but no scrambling or anything. Other cool hikes are the delicate arch trail (even if you just do the short viewpoint one, which I did), the sand dune arch, and the double arch/north window arch (more of a long walk than a hike). The skyline arch is also a nice easy pull off pic (or short walk to get closer), and the Park avenue and Garden of Eden viewpoints (+- other early viewpoints in the park) are absolutely stunning. If you're in the area, I would absolutely rec a trip to Arches NP! If you only have time to do one park in the area my personal pref would be Canyonlands rather than arches, but you can certainly see near all of arches within a day (or even a few hours if you just want to hit some of the major spots) whereas Canyonlands is MASSIVE and some areas require AWD/high clearance so Arches is much more accessible. If you really just want to hit the highlights in both, you can do it in one day (that's what I did -- left around 7a to go to mesa arch and grand overlook viewpoints @Canyonlands, then drove to arches and hit all those short trails/viewpoints mentioned above. Was done by about 6p the same day).

The scenery was breathtaking, but what truly made the experience unforgettable was our guide Shaun. Shaun was absolutely outstanding. He was incredibly knowledgeable, not only about the river, but also the history, geology, wildlife, and the entire surrounding area. Every question we asked was met with an interesting answer, and his passion for what he does really shines through. Beyond that, Shaun was kind, funny, smart, and made everyone feel comfortable and welcome from the moment we launched. He struck the perfect balance between keeping us safe, sharing fascinating information, and making sure we were having an amazing time. By the end of the trip, it felt like we had spent the day with a friend. We can't wait to come back to Moab and do it again! When we do, we will absolutely be requesting Shaun as our guide. If you're considering a rafting trip, don't hesitate - you'll make incredible memories, and if you're lucky enough to get Shaun, you're in for an unforgettable adventure!

I was super nervous about the rapids but it was honestly not bad at all. We even got in the water and floated thru the rapids at "swimmers rapids" and took some splashes in the face but it was still a ton of fun! It was warm out so getting splashed and in the water was refreshing! The smaller 6 person boats were the perfect size that you still got some bumps as you went thru the rapids vs the really huge boats some other companies had and it kept it to our family of 5.

Location A+ I want to share the good first, so I will continue with that. The staff were friendly and helpful. It was quiet at night, everyone respected the quiet and guests were respectful. All the RV spots are pull through so no fighting with your spouse on backing up your camper. - haha. It was nice to have a pool (although they should really extend their hours and stay open later-8pm pool close is too early when the sun is still cooking. Now for the not so good- where to start :( The staff was never around when folks seemed to need them- I always saw people looking for someone who worked there. The women's bathroom was just unreal how gross it was. I truly think the only thing the staff did daily was empty the trash and refill toilet paper and one of the two paper towel dispensers. Never once cleaned or attempted to clean any of the three showers, sinks or toilet's. The little store they have closed nightly at 7, sometimes sooner. Which really wasn't convenient if you wanted a treat after dinner like an ice cream or adult beverage. You really have to plan ahead. We just went to town, but would have rather supported the camp ground and stayed there. Overall - this could be an AMAZING place. Just needs more staff, and a little more TLC- We would go back if we heard of improvements.

We planned a fun trip to Moab to see the National Parks and wanted to make it affordable. We are…read morecampers and came across Up the Creek Campground on a web search. It was cheaper than getting a hotel in town and sounded more adventurous. We were sold on having a bathhouse with a shower and flush toilets. There is also a sink to do dishes in and outlets to charge your electrical devices. The nice thing is that the campground is right off the main road through town if you need to pick up anything or want to eat out instead of cooking your own food. Up the Creek Campground has 16 tent-only sites that are nestled within a grove of large shaded trees. If you want to cook your own food here at the campground, there are grilling stations. There are also patio games like Corn Hole near the community area. I was a little worried about noise because this place is a few blocks from the main road. But everything was surprisingly very peaceful for us. The best part about this place was being a short drive from both Arches and Canyonlands National Parks. The only bummer during our time here was a major rainstorm that passed by one day. It rained hard for hours that day. Up the Creek Campground offers sensible weather coverage per day if it rains over 1.5 mm per hour for over 2 hours during daytime hours. I appreciated the refund for that day because we had to take shelter in our tent most of the day. Great place if you don't mind camping. You can walk up or book ahead of time.

The 3rd Grill was across camp in another person area at 9:30pm. Meals ruined now. Have fun finding food at this hour. Shouldn't mention a Creek that you can't see or access. Couldn't believe how many Triggers I got attacked by! Moved down by the Colorado River, didn't have that issue? The table that is Covered in Tree Ooze, that they can't seem to just move to eliminate the issue. Or maybe as they text me about the Propane issue; they will get to it tomorrow. Not a Happy Camper! Especially since I got charged for a night I wasn't there! At least there was a Shower? And the other Travelers! That's it!

Don't waste your time!…read more I booked my stay at Wander Camp over a month ago. A few days before my trip... I got a text message from Jeremy that they were canceling the reservations for the remainder of the month. Only a few days notice?! Finding a place to stay last minute in Moab is nearly impossible... Let alone at a reasonable price. Without a place to stay, I had to turn to Airbnb and spend a ludicrous amount of money to book a place. Wander Camp wasn't even apologetic. I had to beg for an email confirmation of the cancelation along with a refund receipt. I still haven't received that even though Jeremy promised it would be sent. Don't waste your time with Wander Camp. Book your visit at nearby Under Canvas. That operation is legitimate and knows how to take care of their guests.

Let's start by saying we came with a group of 8 and rented out 5 of their tents. This was a gift to…read moreour friends who had just gotten married so we thought we'd have them decompress at a relaxing new glamping spot one hour outside of Moab. This stay was anything but relaxing. The idea behind wander camp is a decent one if the website and description was accurate. Unfortunately, it's not. First of all, it's an hour drive away from Moab in a field of shrubs with the view of a porta potty or some stranger in another tent. The biggest issue is that on their website they advertise campfires, but they don't let you have one. Not sure what people like to do when they're camping but if there's no campfire you're essentially just sitting in the dark freezing your toes off. I don't know about you but I tend to not have to pay for that kind of experience. It gets absolutely freezing at night so you have to retreat to your "tent" which somehow is even colder. Luckily they have portable heaters for rent- oh but not enough for each tent. At the time we stayed, they had 5 heaters for 13 tents. I was one of the "lucky" guests and my reservation came with a heater so I got the last one. My friends weren't so lucky. There were none left. So if you're coming make sure you reserve ahead of time otherwise you won't get one, and honestly you might not get one anyways. The temp dropped down to 12 degrees at one point. Those evasive little heaters also last about 4 hours max if you put them on low heat, so they don't actually do much for heat coverage, so also bring your own propane tank to refill. Also, be prepared to bring your warmest gear/blankets/ towels because you're essentially camping but without a fire. Oh and they do have solar powered lights, but some just don't work. They also don't have back up batteries, so just bring your own flashlight to be safe. Some of the beds are comfortable and some are not at all, and there's no price difference, just bed roulette in which ones are actually nice. The comforters were not warm enough. There are zero towels for the showers so bring your own and expect it to take 5-10 min to warm up and then to not stay warm throughout. I will say they did have their customer service try to help make our stay better by agreeing that it was weird the website stated they had campfires and fire pits but then didn't allow them. Long story short, you're paying hotel room prices to camp in the cold and dark where you have to bring your own sleeping bag, extra layers, blankets, towels, lights, heater, and propane tanks. Save your money and just go pitch a tent off the side of the road. Would recommend this place if the sole purpose of your stay is to take a photo inside a tent with a bed that has a boho pillow from Amazon on it. Save yourself the trouble and just prime it to your house.
