We had just moved to the area and I couldn't find the help to find a better school right away. the middle school principal was hands-down the WORST. I kick my daily for not calling the police on him for what he did (a whole traumatic other story). my daughter was in special education support, but in mainstream classes. The Special education teacher at the time was disgusting - she would call and LAUGH that my child was crying in the corner, and then would shout profanities at the children in her class while I was on the phone with her. She would tell them to "Shut up" and "F-ing go back to their seats... I thankfully found a better fit for her and got her out of there. along with the absolute unbelievable parents that would protest daily in the parking lot, over the school trying to be more inclusive to the LGBTQ community, my child was scarred, traumatized, and fell behind in everything. If your child is neurodivergent, or has any kind of special needs, this school is NOT for you. They will only care about the children that don't need extra help, or care.

If you are reading this review you may be wondering (just like we were) about the best place for your child to begin their education. What do you look for? Will your child feel comfortable and welcome ? What can you expect from a Montessori education? This school had everything we were looking for and more. They offer morning and afternoon sessions and they offer both 3-day and 5-day programs. The class sizes are small and social and you likely won't find more caring and passionate educators than Miss Nora and Miss Susan. Plus, the tuition is affordable and some assistance is available. We are almost done with our son's first year and we are planning to enroll him for a second year in the fall. Our daughter will be going there, too - no doubt in my mind. You should know that this is a small school with a close-knit connection between children, teachers and parents and they ask for parents to play an active role in the school if you can spare the time. This isn't the "drop your kid off in the parking lot" kind of place and we love how our son has blossomed in the quiet and challenging environment under the Montessori philosophy practiced at Kinderhaus Montessori. I urge you to take a tour and see for yourself.

The kindergarten teacher has been absolutely fantastic with our child & communicating with us as parents. Her patience, kindness, & character reflect a great example of Godly character to the children in her classroom. Our child has enjoyed school & thrived at this school, so much so that she has her sibling excited to start school next year. We appreciate the small class sizes, but we mostly enjoy seeing the school encourage our child to grow in a firmly rooted relationship with God. There were some changes that happened this last school year; the amazing part has been how the staff, the parents, & even the students pulled together to not just get past the changes but to come out of them with a stronger sense of teamwork, commitment to the school, & focus on God. Foundations Christian Academy has exceeded our expectations for a small Christian school & we would highly recommend that any family looking for a school with a firm Biblical foundation look into this school.

I hesitated writing this review but I feel I am doing a disservice to potential families by not…read moredoing so. We have been at FCS since the school opened until February 2025. Throughout this time, we have seen a lot of growing pains and changes, but this comes with having a brand new school. Bullying was very bad for my son and despite constant communication and concerns on my part, the school ignored it due to the parent being part of the school board. I had to threaten leaving the school for them to even reply to a phone call or email. My daughter then started kindergarten there and at that time, had a wonderful teacher. Then, began 1st grade and was being physically bullied by a boy larger and older than her. Again, nothing done about it besides "talking to the child". No reach out to the parents. Again, I had to threaten leaving the school and contacting the board of education for them to respond to my emails. Bullying is NOT taken care of here. There is a "moms group" here who have basically taken over the school and are on the board so as to control how things are done, despite being unqualified to do so. It is so bad that the founder of the school, Brad, was pushed out by these women due to him suspending one of their kids for derogatory statements, writing, ect. He had to resign immediately due to the growing tension between him and the board/school moms who work there. This group is incredibly cliquey and I often felt looked down on and judged. Bullying will NOT be taken seriously here. Since Brad had been gone, that left the entire 5-8th grade without a qualified teacher and left them with the moms trying to teach them and a Pastor coming in trying to run the school. We also had been told that my son, who is incredibly intelligent, was failing constantly and there were no resources to do any sort of special accommodations for him re: taking tests, breaks, ect. We have finally pulled our kids out this February and are at a new Christian school in the area and my son went from "failing" to ALL A's in every class. Kids need environments where they are uplifted, encouraged, and taught appropriately. This school completely failed my kids and us as parents. Since we have left, there have been at least 6-8 children total who have since left as well, out of 30 something total kids. It is alarming what is going on. I am not the only one - the others just haven't done reviews yet. My son even asked if he could attend chapel one day since they have an open invite to others who want to join- we were just told "no". Obviously now theyre holding grudges against parents who choose to do whats best for their own children. I cant believe this school calls themselves "christian".
