I took my first Pilates Reformer class at the Yoga Sanctuary this morning and it was FANTASTIC! Leslie V. Is a wonderful teacher. She's knowledgeable, kind and helpful. I've been a Yoga member at YS for years and I feel like it is my home away from home. This is already the premiere Yoga studio in LV and I'm certain it will become the premiere Pilates studio in town as well. Especially sine their Pilates instructor line up is as good as their Yoga instructor line up. I am looking forward to my next Pilates class. Normally I wouldn't write a review after taking just one class, but I was so moved by it that I feel obligated to spread the word. Through ClassPass, I signed up for a Friday night Slow Flow & Yin Sound Bath with Polly Whittaker. It was one of the best yoga classes I've ever taken. I cried. Let me be clear: I'm picky about virtually everything in an exercise class. From sequences and pacing to the music, lighting and (most importantly) the instructor's approach, I am the opposite of chill -- because why would I pay to exercise outside of my house when I could do it at home for free? If the instructor gives too much or too little direction, makes me feel rushed, isn't trauma-informed / doesn't make the class accessible for all, has a voice or a vibe that doesn't sit right with me, emphasizes "working out" over mindfulness and connection, uses vocabulary I find grating (the word "yummy" to describe a stretch is a big offender) ... you get it -- I'm checked out. (Yes, I know this is a character flaw; yes, I am working on it!) To my immense joy, Yoga Sanctuary hit it out of the park for me on every level. Polly is such a gifted guide. Every word felt intentional, grounded and thoughtfully paced. I could have mistaken her instruction for one of the pre-recorded, meticulously edited guided meditations I listen to; she was that good. But what I really appreciated was how balanced the class felt. Nothing was totally riffed or overly structured. There was deep stretching and light strength-building, but there were also moments of deep connection and presence threaded throughout the 75-minute session. The sound bath and yoga nidra elements toward the end were just dreamy. Some people might prefer a more vigorous experience, but for me, this was exactly how a yoga class should feel. Props to the studio itself, too. The front desk staff were welcoming and helpful. Dim lighting and candles in the room set a soothing tone, and there were plenty of props to go around and space to spread out. I came here expecting to stretch and breathe for an hour. I left transformed, feeling connected to myself and the world around me again, nourished from the inside out. What a gift. I can't wait to return again and again. read more

So far I've only tried Pilates reformer classes, but I've had such a lovely time so far! I'm new to Pilates, having only taken a few reformer classes before, and I find these classes to be so helpful in building up my comfort and confidence with the machines. Leslie and Carla have been amazing instructors and the workouts themselves have been perfect for my active recovery days. In the studio, it's very clean and serene, and the music is kept low so you feel a real person-person presence rather than that more anonymous vibe you get in the pumping-beats type places. Oh my gosh, this place is amazing. It's a hidden gem. The quality of their yoga classes are exceptional. And I love the fact that it is not a heated studio. It caters to all age groups. For me that's very important to see a lot of different age grouping and I never feel out of place. They also have included a Pilates studio. You've gotta check this out. Sweet yoga studio in a busy area. The instructors have been great. I've tried 3 classes so far and loved each one of them. Whether you want a deep stretch, sweat class or a relax with music, they have it all. The instructors also provide variations for levels of needed. These new Pilates classes are absolutely amazing!!! Energizing and uplifting for my whole body! The two instructors I have experienced, Leslie and Frances, are amazing and take the time to know each person individually and also keep the class going. The classes are refreshing in body and mind.​ I take my 15-year-old granddaughter because she plays high school soccer and a mixed indoor boys and girls soccer team, and swims laps daily. I really wanted to love this studio but the overall the vibe is anything but warm or welcoming. The owner comes across as snooty and dismissive which sets the tone for the entire space. Instead of felling supported or inspired, I left feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome. Yoga should be about openness and kindness, this studio misses that completely. read more

I walked in on a Groupon and after my month was up, I joined, and now attend class daily. The warm and friendly teachers, Noe, Angela, Jessica, Jamie, Rachel, Kelly, Joshua, along with the new owner Jessie are just a breath of fresh air to be welcomed in by and be around. Every other Friday evenings at 6 PM, they have live music, the great Tim Catching singing on his guitar, this attracts a-lot of classmates. If anyone is looking to start yoga, this is the place. Very nice and clean large studio, high ceilings with fans for great ventilation, always clean bathrooms and the entry way is full of goodies to view and purchase with the smell of burning incense. I love this place! Very clean with an awesome reception area. The front desk employees are very courteous and helpful. I love that during the class you don't hear any outside noises from the reception area. This is a BIG plus for me as my last 2 studios were quite noisy. For being in a modern business park area- the studio feels like it has been in that location for a long time- maybe it's just the set up of the studio, colors, and lighting,etc. The lobby/reception area is very tiny and it can get uncomfortably cramped with the coming and goings of students. It has a few stools to sit on while you wait for your class. They sell books, apparel, and other yoga related items as well. I do very much appreciate all of the flyers that are in the lobby that give times, prices, and descriptions of upcoming classes and events. There are 2 rooms in which to take a class. I like the fact that the name of the class, time, and name of the instructor are outside the door- no confusion there. :) This is a place I like to go to (thanks to ClassPass) on a Sunday afternoon when I just want to get ready for the week ahead. I laugh and say this is my 'old people' yoga studio. It's very calm and tranquil here at Sherry's. Not a lot of fancy showers or other amenities. The crowd seems to be mostly older folks that are focused only on their practice and not how hot they look in their workout gear. I have taken Zen Zone and Vinyasa Flow here. Browsing their schedule will give you a better idea of the variety of times and classes they offer for all levels. Today was my first class and everyone was so nice, and I don't just mean the ppl who worked there I mean EVERYONE! The place had a great vibe to it, it was clean and smelled great! They had extra mats and plenty of equipment. The class started and ended ON TIME (which was great) lol. The temperature was comfortable and I literally felt at home. I purchased a Groupon for 10 classes and so far it's the best decision I've made all 2020 . For anyone concerned about diversity, my meditation class has about 8-10 ppl in there, there was one male, and I was the only African American female, 4 ppl were over the age of 50, and the rest was younger women 20-40. I absolutely cannot wait till next class! *Tip before showing up, make an account on their website to look at class schedule and book your classes in advance! Spent 1 month doing yoga here. Reasons why I would never recommend Yoga Sanctuary to any friends: -Owner is extremely rude. I called to ask a question about coming to class. He put me on hold. Then, he hung up on me. I called again and as soon as he heard me say hello he hung up again. -You will literally get turned away if you are more than 10 min late to class. Another mandate of the owner. People work, things happen. Ridiculous. There's plenty of places to go in Vegas. Don't bother with this one. read more

I took Sherry's class on a Wednesday morning (10:00-11:30) Pros: love a 90 minute option. It's hard to find an all encompassing yoga class now a-days. Most are a 60 minute in and out calorie burn. Sherry is a wise and very educated instructor. She is not a 25 year old 200RYT newbie. It is so refreshing to have a senior instructor whose classes are full of a spectrum of students. There was an array of ages and abilities in her class and she was so loving and kind - offering various kramas for each asana. You can tell her following adores her and are consistent practitioners of hers. Cons: It would be great if the studio offered higher quality mats for rent. I travel a ton and am always so happy to have high quality mats that don't slip and slide all over the place. Also, there is no water refill station. I brought my reusable bottle and asked for water to fill and was handed a complimentary plastic water bottle. Overall a nice studio and when in Vegas I will be back. read more

I've been going to yoga sanctuary on a class pass for about 3-4 months now. I've gone to other studios but never really stuck with it or connected with the studio in anyway. That's changed though since going to YS, I love the studio. I've taken gentle yoga, vinyasa classes, russels vinyasa vibes and an amazing yin type class with noe where a guy played live guitar. All have been awesome. Every instructor I've taken (I've seen about 6 diff ones, like Rachel and robin and two who's names escape me currently) makes you feel comfortable. Whenever im new to a teacher they ask my name and immediately may a connection. I highly recommend this place and ive brought a few friends here already. Because it is really hard to find a non-hot yoga studio in Las Vegas, I finally had to try out Yoga Sanctuary. I always had my eye on this studio because it seemed like my scene (small, nonheated, lots of yin classes). I never signed up because the membership price was outrageous ($120 per month!!). However, now that the offer a student discount, I am able to afford a membership at $69 per month (hallelujah!!). Pros- great instructors, active Instagram account with updates and reminders about events, small class sizes, not hot (some classes are lightly heated, no humidity added), friendly students. Cons- no mid-afternoon classes, small bathroom, credit card processing fees, classes often start a few minutes late (not a big deal for me as someone who always arrives just in time) Nicki and Eric are really the reason I decided to get a membership. They are amazing instructors. Their classes are challenging, yet not over the top. Nicki is really good at reading her students and adjusting to what we need. Sadly, Eric moved away and no longer teaches here. There are other amazing teachers, such as Rachael, Angela, and Jennifer.
