It has been a very long time since I've had TRULY bad food. Some places miss the mark, but most places are at least decent. This is not one of those places!!! It is absolutely horrible!! I've tried to figure out a way to best describe the food and the only thing I can think of is I've never been to a place where EVERYTHING TASTES LIKE NOTHING!!! Bland, purely executed sushi. Chinese food with less flavor than store bought freezer food. I honestly don't know how this place still has a license to serve food! You'd get more flavor grazing on the grass from the golf course! A Sushi Experience to Forget Our family outing to Sancho's turned into a frustrating ordeal. After placing our order, we waited for over an hour without receiving our food. The seaweed salad I ordered never arrived (don't they just scoop this from a bucket in the fridge, not go and harvest fresh weed from the ocean?), and the kids' chicken nuggets and fries seemed lost in the kitchen. As my kids melted down from hunger, we complained to staff and after another 15 minutes their nugs and fries arrived (seriously? 80 minutes for nuggos and fries?!?). After they focused on their food and eventually ate what they would, I realized we were going to have to leave. There's no way these 3 kids under 7 were going to wait patiently for the grownups to finally be served and eat. Grandma kindly offered to wait for the food and deliver it to our room herself, but when it finally arrived to my room (literally 3 hours after we had been seated - no joke), it was just one of two rolls I had ordered and literally a scramble in the to-go container (they must not ever do take out). Of course I devoured it because I was starving, but being generous it was underwhelming. Strongly recommend looking elsewhere. Even if you are staying at the hotel (as we were), you'd save time driving to the nearest sushi place in Ponce and back, you'd enjoy your meal more (I'm guessing but I doubt I'm wrong), and your blood pressure would thank you. read more

Don't bother. We were the only ones there at 7pm on a Thursday and the server seemed bothered by us and also annoyed we didn't understand Spanish. I asked to order Teppanyaki and was told I couldn't because a large party had reservations. Because of that I got to leave without dinner for the night. My friends ordered food and it came out cold and the sushi rice was stale. We ordered a round of drinks and the food came out prior. Just a very disorganized place. read more

Sushi is far from tasty, we had the Rose Roll, spicy tuna and California. All three rolls were very bland in flavor. The spicy tuna had zero spice and did not look fresh. I mean even the wasabi was flavorless and I understand that it's hard to get very fresh ingredients on an island but then the rolls shouldn't be so over priced if they're not going to taste good!Basic rolls were priced between $8-12 and specialty rolls were as much as $15-19! Also the happy hour with Don Q is $4 all day, I asked the waitress if this included all drinks with Don Q, she said yeah, and in the end I was charged $7.50 per mojito. I guess they charge $3.50 for mint and lime wedges! Regardless, I feel the waitress should have let us know of the different pricing, especially after having just asked about the happy hour special. Overall, the sushi quality and taste was similar to poor grocery store sushi. Unless you have no other option, save yourself the trip. read more

The fish and rice quality was low, but worst of all was the 2 hour wait for our food in a restaurant that was mostly empty. There was no oriental menu on Sunday because that chef wasn't there. So we settled for the hibachi. We shared a Teppanyaki dinner. That included a onion soup, house salad, chicken, and fried rice. Was very delicious and very filling. The waiting staff was very polite and very attentive. The drinks were delicious. Enjoyed the Don Q happy hour!!! I am surprised other people gave it such bad reviews. This is my favorite Sushi restaurant! If you love sushi like me I recommend the Emperor Roll as well as the Tuna Kabachi and Spicy Crab Salad. I am also a big fan of their sashimi. It is always super fresh. The tepanyaki is also a must. Their plates are unique and are plated like works of art. I come here every Friday night to get the weekend started with my favorite food. read more

Mediocre chinese/japanese at the Ponce Hilton's golf property. We ordered sushi and standard Chinese dishes. The wait was longer than it should have been, noodles were burnt, and then sushi tasted freezer burnt. The teppanyaki looked good, but we didn't try it. Probably the best in the area, but not up to par if you are accustomed to quality Asian food. read more
