Huzzah! Finally a hotel that hits all the marks. Great Bed, Great Pillows (finally), Great Staff, Great Location and Great Lounge. 5 Greats is 5 stars for sure! First, the quality of sleep here was amazeballs. The bed was comfortable but those pillows. ALL FOUR of the pillows in my room were supportive throughout the night. That's a rarity in these days, even across the Marriott brand. I had one for my head, one to hug, and two to put my hands between (I think). I was here for a conference and the staff and amenities at the conference were superb. The food in the conference area was good. I had a tofu pad Thai that was so flavorful! I don't know if it's on the restaurant menu, but I'd consider it if it was. The Executive Lounge (or whatever they call it) was always well stocked with either a carafe of coffee at breakfast or an on-demand coffee machine throughout the day. They also had some snacks and a pretty good breakfast for platinum and above members. It's near a plaza that has a Target and a Whole Foods and some other stuff too that's walkable. There's also a "City Center" type place a little further (still walkable) with a variety of spots (brewery, mediterranean restaurant, etc.) This is what every Marriott Hotel should strive to be like. I'm not talking about Courtyards and Fairfield and such, I know they're different. But for a Marriott proper, this is it! I'd stay here again in a titmouse's heartbeat. read more

Beautiful hotel in a great neighborhood with shops near by. Pros: Bed, pillows, & modern decor were all great. Here's the cons: Horrible cell reception and they charge $14.95 per day or something like that. Worst part: I booked a double queen room but they gave us a single king bed room. Thankfully I'm traveling with a good friend so I don't mind being cozy but I don't think that'll fly with the rest of the group that's traveling here for a conference. I know it's happening to a lot of people in my group (I heard them in passing). They told us there's nothing else available. Shady in my opinion to not provide what I paid for. They have coffee in the lobby but promptly takes it away at 9am and tell you that you'll have to purchase it after 9. Ooooh get this... there's a Fiji water with a price tag of $9. Wow. The room wasn't cleaned till past 3pm and we went back downstairs to give them time to finish cleaning. So overall, great looking and good location for shopping and for an event but the amenity is not up to par. That's too bad. read more

I needed to stay a couple of nights recently in San Ramon, so I chose this. After all, there's only a few legitimate places. I chose this Marriott. It's convenient located next to Target and Whole Foods, a Peets, a Crumbl, a Thai Restaurant, a bagel place, a Chipotle, and a few other places. A little too far of a walk to City Center. First impression, it seems nice. With this, the first process to bring in your bags is a bit of a challenge -- built like a bohemeth hotel, you have to park temporarily, check-in, then come back and park your car kinda far in a parking lot at $16/day. No Valet. Once inside the lobby, it's smaller than I expected. Perhaps good for conference/meeting, but it's a small check-in desk with a small bar/restaurant. Good ratings, but limited hours to just the morning breakfast (for a fee, no gratis), and 5pm in the evening -- no lunch. Coffee is served in the morning only, very basic setup, with just plain creamer. C'mon, give me some Vanilla! Rooms: * Clean as a whistle * Comfortable bed * Recently remodeled * Small coffeemaker and fridge Service: * Friendly and helpful Bottomline, not a deluxe stay, but fine a clean place to zzzzzz. We came here for a sporting event with my wife. It is in a nice location close to a shopping mall. The set up is a little weird. The drop off area is to the left of the main doors. I don't know why they have a revolving door . we used the regular door and often pushed the handicapped assist opener. The parking was 40 bucks a day but if you knew what you were doing you could say you didn't even have a car and park for free. The lot is controlled by parking arms which were up most of the time we were there. We stayed on the weekend. Even if the entry arm was closed the exit arm was open and you could drive right in that way. The guy at the front desk was not very friendly. He kept answering the phones instead of checking us in Very rude. The room was clean but you could hear the noise throughout the hallway. Doors slamming. The bathroom was a little small. I like that it had a fridge that you could use. Also there was a shelf like thing to put your luggage on next to the TV. Plus a lunger that you could throw your stuff onto. Never give you enough towels so we had to ask for more. Still I didn't have any real major problems with the room read more

Decent location in San Ramon for business travelers attending meetings at the Round House or Bishop Ranch offices (within walking distance). Also within walking distance of the shops at bishop ranch / city center, target, etc with lots of restaurant and shopping options. The have a decent size fitness center, outdoor pool, outdoor seating with fire pits, restaurant and bar. Breakfast is not included, but they have an M-club if you have status to access that. Parking is available for a fee. Room is ok. It is fairly large and nice it has wood floors. Bathroom amenities are minimal. They don't have a makeup mirror. The hair dryer is sub-par. Seemed a bit plain, but it was clean and fine for my purpose. Large ballroom was sufficient for a large group of 300. Breakfast and lunch catering was decent, but nothing to brag about. I did have an issue with a charge from the gift shop being posted to my bill while here that I did not incur. I had to call after my stay and file a claim, but they eventually refunded me for it. I'd request to review your bill at checkout before having them email it to you! read more

We booked a room for our Valentine festivities that were happening in the area. So, we only used the room to shower and change in between events. The room was spacious, and clean. It had a cute small balcony that overlooked the pool. Downstairs was an intimate setting full bar, next to a relaxing area full of couches, and comfortable chairs. It would have been nice to stay overnight, or longer to enjoy the setting. I'll just have to go back another day. read more

We stayed here one night. I love the location. It is down the street from Bishop Ranch Center, walkable to Target, and near a shopping area where Wholefoods is located. Anything you need or eatery is close by. We checked in around 2pm. There was about two in front of us. We waited about 10 mins. The person who checked us in wasn't too friendly. He seemed preoccupied and I felt like I was not welcomed. He answered the phone and was talking to the person on the other end. He checked us in gave us our keycard and didn't explain anything. That was it. The room was good. It was clean. I did request extra towels on the app, but there were no extra towels when I arrive or come later. I did request late check out on the app and that was granted for 2pm check out. That was nice. The bed was a little soft. It felt like the bed is a little worn. Probably needs to be replaced. It was squeaking when you move. Walls are not thick; you can hear your neighbor and doors shutting in the halls. Overall, we had a good stay. I would stay here again. read more

I came in an hour early before check in and my room wasn't ready. They had a huge turn around happening because when my room was ready the cleaning products were extremely fresh in scent and walking down the halls to my room had cleaning carts left and right. So I am not shocked that my room was not ready. They have a mini fridge, but no microwave in the room. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash is provided. However I was not a big fan of the scent at all. Actually as talking with other family members who also stayed at the room opted not to use it as well because of the scent. One small annoying thing is the privacy sign. I swear every time I opened the door the sign would fall off. It's not hard to pick up a sign, but I am thinking about those who do have a harder time would find it a challenge. My room was clean and that's what really matters. The front desk was overwhelmed with a line, but I do think the workers were moving quite slow on top of only having two people check in. If they see a long line they should really get more people up front to assist. Check out was a breeze and parking comes with a cost at this hotel. read more

The San Ramon Marriott felt like a luxury stay! I usually stay at the Residence Inn down the street and while those rooms are much bigger because of the kitchen, this property is significantly nicer and such a comfortable and upgraded stay. The property is located right behind the Target. It's close to a ton of restaurants and places to grab a bite. The location is highly convenient and there is adequate parking available (although for a fee). I stayed in a king room that felt modern and new. I loved the chic decor. The room was very comfortable and made for such a relaxing stay. The hotel has all the usual amenities including a gym and pool. The lobby restaurant was very popular and there were lots of folks there grabbing a drink throughout the night. I also appreciated the M Club lounge. During the evening, they had a thai chicken curry available as well as snacks and drinks. For dessert, they had a cheesecake with strawberry puree. The food was tasty and the M Club was large and well taken care of. This is a great property. Such a beautiful space to enjoy! read more

Traveled here for a wedding and stayed for the weekend. We arrived after an 8 hour travel trip. My only disappointment was the availability of the bell carts at 9pm at night. By this time, most individuals would have checked-in. Unfortunately, we had to take multiple trips from the car to the room. What I most appreciated was the ambiance, friendly staff and cleanliness. Housekeeping was prompt when we needed them. The location is perfect and conveniently a walking distance to restaurants, coffee shops, and retail stores. Stayed just one night for a staycation. Pool is heated and within the pool area they had a ping pong table with corn hole and also cabanas available to rent. Plenty of clean towels. After swimming we went to eat at the restaurant and the food was all delicious. Well drinks were made well. Had a wonderful time and staffing was very pleasant and kind. Started my period right as we got to the room and went down to see if I could find any tampons and a wonderful lady at the front desk was a life saver. Came back with 5 in a bag and more in hand if I needed any, her next comment was free of charge. Bless her heart. Awesome time and great stay. read more

I stayed here for one night for a friend's wedding. I hadn't stayed here before but it was the selection of the bride and groom. There is plenty of parking and it's at an additional cost per night. Please call ahead to get the amount. The check in process was a breeze and we were able to get to our room pretty quickly. The room was nice and updated I had no issues there. The issue I had was the service of the hotel. We needed to confirm something about our stay and at one point needed more towels. When I called down to the front desk no one ever answered. This is terrible especially if there was an emergency. I was able to get fresh towels from a cleaning cart in the hallway on my own. As Marriott Bonvoy Members, this is our brand of choice and we will likely choose the brand over others. That said, this location is perfect for work or business in the Bay Area. Centrally located with an easy drive to SF or the East Bay cities. There is a small lake with a walking trail just across the street and a shopping center anchored with a Target store and a Whole Foods a few feet away. The hotel has undergone some updates and our room was spacious, well laid out and modern on the 5th floor. Very large TV with a good number of channel selections. The King bed was so very comfortable it would seem Marriott took a cue after purchasing Weston because the bed feels just as luxurious. Nice shower and spacious bath. We didn't try the on-site restaurant but people were enjoying breakfast and happy hour last evening. read more

I came here for a conference. This is clearly a family-run joint which is fine. I found it easily and was able to park. First issue? I could not get a ticket upon entry. I pressed the button that I was supposed to for help and there was none. Why have parking like this? I'll get back to this later. I forgot to tell them when I checked in. Check-in was easy. I got there late for my event - traffic. The room was nice. We were in an area that I thought was fenced in, but it wasn't. That meant that when a couple, probably from off the street, walked in and started arguing, what I thought was a safe, fenced-off area outside the hotel room wasn't. We had our I meals and I was lucky that there was a Whole Foods practically next door because I could get some gluten-free goods that I could eat. Good thing that I did because the breakfast wasn't great. For my dinner, they made the sin of presenting me with a bowl of fruit. Also, I wish that people would not make everything gluten-free and vegan. They should be separate. Everybody was eating a decadent cheesecake and I was chomping on a bowl of fruit. And presenting it with a flair did not elevate it. The people working there were nice. The only issue was a crush of teens who came in for something and they spent an inordinate amount of time waiting to be checked in or something. It was the same group for a while and they took up a lot of space. We had two sections - a ballroom for our conference and another room for vendors. They had a wine bar at one point and at $15 a glass, I could have gone to Whole Paycheck and bought my own bottle, which I will do next time. Another complaint is that the hallway and ballroom were bitter cold. Since it was cold and rainy outside, coming inside wasn't a relief, it was more of the same. So for the parking lot, at my time to leave, I was fortunate that the gate was up, so my not telling them that I didn't have a ticket didn't matter. But, the mental gymnastics until I saw the open gate was crazy-making. Also, I was hoping that they would fix the button so that if called, someone would actually answer and help the person pushing it. I'm sure we'll be back. The organization that I belong to has a branch that loves to have its events here. It's fine. But if they were to find another place, that would be fine by me. It's not bad, but in the future, I need to go out and suss out a proper place to eat. read more

I'm a fan of this place. Yes, it's pricey. Yes, it's a little dated. But all n' all, it's a very solid and established hotel. Pros: + Location, location, location. Close access to freeway, local shopping, groceries stores, etc. And when I say "close access", I mean CLOSE. Target is on the opposite side of a neighboring fence line. + Friendly and composed staff. They had a complete and total power outage in the neighborhood when I arrived (obviously not Marriott's fault). The staff handled it with composure and professionalism. Zero issues with check-in despite staff/lobby running on battery. + The room was very clean (I like the wood/laminate flooring). Very modern and easier to maintain. + They honored my request on the reservation for a room on the quieter side of the building. They putme in a very nice room at the very end of the second floor (nice!). Two of my walls didn't have neighboring rooms. + Easy checkout process. They even offered a late checkout without additional cost if I wanted that. I can't really think of any issues or reasons to complain. It's just a very solid hotel. read more

It was brought up in A SACK in containers with plastic utensils. You have to be kidding me!!!! Covid is over and I'm SICK of hotels using this excuse to limit maid service and now, room service. Coffee in two styrofoam cups! You can't even bring a pot???? Nothing was hot, it was unappetizing and unappealing. Your room service order sheet should STATE that we will be dropping your food off in a sack; enjoy your 60$ grab and go. I won't return or recommend any hotel pulling this shit. read more

The San Ramon Marriott is a hidden gem, tucked away behind tall redwood trees that block out the freeway noise, creating a surprisingly peaceful setting. Conveniently located behind a Target, it's easy to grab anything you need, especially if there with kids. The hotel features a heated pool open year-round, which is especially nice in the summertime when the weather is always perfect. The rooms are spacious, modern, and updated, with fantastic showers. One thing to note--if you have a lot of luggage, be prepared for a bit of a walk from the parking lot to the entrance, and there are only about three baggage carts available. Parking can also be tricky since there's almost always an event happening, but overall, it's still manageable. The absolute best part of this Marriott is Desiree at the front desk. She is incredibly helpful, kind, and makes sure you're happy with your room and stay. She's also super sweet to kids, she has even given my daughter little goodie bags at check-in, which adds such a personal touch. Service overall is great, but I've had less-than-stellar experiences with one Indian gentleman and another woman (Marcella, I think?) at the front desk--they've been quite rude. However, the restaurant is excellent, and despite the minor inconveniences, I'd still recommend this hotel--especially if you're here for a wedding or event or just a staycation as I always do. The peaceful setting, great rooms, and outstanding service from Desiree make it worth it. There's also the lot across the street, with movies, restaurants and shops. read more

She clearly explained that one charge was from the restaurant/bar and confirmed that there were no erroneous additional charges to my room. I have been to a few marriotts and this one was extremely pleasant. Clean rooms, beautiful area, close proximity to the shopping center and a lake to walk around. Service requests were granted and check in was easy. You have to pay to park which is a bummer but it's an easy lot to park in. Only downside is that the cleaners were super loud next door when I was trying to sleep (constantly slamming the door). Otherwise super nice. the pool looked nice but I didn't try it. read more

Check-in was a breeze. I received notification before the actual check-in time that my room was ready. Upon arrival, I was able to bypass the counter and go straight to my room using keyless entry. There was a welcome notification on the TV Screen. The room was nice and spacious. It appeared clean as well, although I sanitize myself and have disposable bedding. The room didn't have carpet and I actually like that. I only stayed for one night and didn't dine or order room service. There were 2 bottles of complimentary water. You can request room service for breakfast the following morning if you place the order on the doorknob by 2:00am. There was a sleep spray that you can spray in the pillow for a good nights sleep. If you do t have any cash to leave a tip, there's a QR code you can scan to leave one. There's a shopping area with Target near by in case there's something you forgot. read more

I absolutely love the San Ramon Marriott! To start off with the service at this location, is probably the best service at any Marriott we've stayed in. They were always super friendly and incredibly helpful every time we stayed with them. This Marriott doesn't charge for package pickup, and is right next door to Target and a short walk away from Whole Foods, Starbucks, Philz, and a small shopping mall. The pool is quite large and has lovely seat cabanas. It was usually almost totally empty during all of our visits. And although they recently started (and at this point have probably completed) construction on the rooms and the lounge (now an M Club downstairs) we loved the previous view from the top floor lounge and always found the space stocked and the attendant friendly. A couple neutrals are that the in room fridges aren't cold enough for frozen items and they don't have safes in the room. But otherwise, we absolutely loved this location! Something related to this Marriott's location is also that there is a huge coworking facility near the gorgeous Annabel Lake. If you cross the street as you would exit the hotel there's a path to it. The honey would frequently take his computer and work there because the space is decked out with desks and work areas, and the cafeteria serves great food for a relatively inexpensive price. Annabel Lake in general is a really beautiful area to walk in if you're staying at this hotel. All in all, we absolutely loved this Marriott location and would highly recommend staying there if you're in the area! read more

The signage is poor or nonexistent at this hotel. First of all, you CANNOT drive up to the front entrance of the hotel as in other hotels where staff can greet you and help you with bags. You have to park first, but there is no signage that tells you that so I drove around in circles looking for the front entrance. I finally realized that you have to WALK to the front entrance and there is no assistance with luggage. This is not a problem if there were signs that indicate you have to park and follow the walking path to the hotel. The room is decent. The food at the restaurant downstairs was actually pretty good. But again communication was poor on the check out process. When I checked in, I was informed that my key card would get me in and out of the parking lot. But what I was NOT told was that you need your key card to leave the hotel parking lot AFTER you check out. Why would anyone think to take their key card with them when they check out? I left them in the room as in most hotels I've stayed in but then found that there is no way to leave the parking lot so I had to repark and run back into the hotel to get another key card just to leave. It felt a little like Percy Jackson and the Lightening Thief where the hotel plans to keep you there forever! read more

The deal we received ($150 for one night), was a decent deal. Some rooms have bath tubs. Wifi speed is decent enough to stream videos on phone. A/C kept room cool. CONS: small bath tubs. thin walls (you can hear people in the hall and/or next door). Hidden fees such as the additional $100 for a pet deposit. Chaos from a wedding at hotel (kids were sprinting back and forth down the halls screaming and giggling). People constantly slam their doors as they leave their rooms. My poor dog was barking every few seconds due to a door being slammed or some brats running down the hall. You can hear the pipes each time anyone uses their sink or bath. We packed up, left, and received a refund. We didn't receive our $100 pet deposit back, but it was better than suffering the entire night amongst the chaos. read more

Family guests usually stay at the San Ramon Marriott when visiting. It is convenient, right next to the freeway on/off ramp and 2 strip malls packed for both high-end and more prosaic shopping needs. Despite being close to these high traffic areas, the hotel feels secluded, surrounded by tall redwood trees that muffle sound. The hotel itself is nondescript. While nothing was egregiously wrong, it was obviously old architecture under a cosmetic upgrade. My brother and his family are visiting from the East Coast. Their stay this week is their first since before the pandemic. He said their room is compact but newly remodeled. The fridge seemed smaller than the average dorm room fridge. Low ceilings made it feel a bit claustrophobic and with 2 adults and 1 child, no space to do anything but be a place to keep the luggage and sleep. Parking can also be a bit difficult to find in the afternoon when everyone has checked in. My nephew enjoyed the pool but my sister-in-law said the water was a bit chilly despite the 90+ degree weather. She was more positive about the gym that had a nice array of equipment and a space for floor exercises. 3.25 stars: We'll continue to recommend this hotel to our guests for the convenient location and walkability score, as long as they also temper their expectations. read more

Worst Marriott staff - manager cancelled our second room thinking it was a duplicate room even though we confirmed we had 3 rooms. Assistant manager said she would reinstate at discounted rate and actually raised the rate to a higher price than what was on our confirmation. They also say if your a BONVOY member and booked online it doesn't translate to their system as they are different. WHAT WAIT. Avoid this Marriot other better options in the area. * Trina the manager did reach out to me regarding the issues encountered during my check in and check out and resolved the pricing errors. She was apologetic and professional. We plan to give this hotel another try as it is conveniently located, has been recently remodeled, ans is clean. We visit this area a few times a year. read more

We had a pretty mediocre experience at the San Ramon Marriott. The service was pretty disappointing, our room was nothing special, and the breakfast buffet was pretty average. The heated pool was the highlight of our visit. Check in was very disappointing. The first room we were given had a rumpled bed that looked like someone had just slept in it. We had to go back and request a new room. The staff was apologetic, but didn't do anything special to try to make up for this unacceptable experience. In addition, I was not told at check in about my free breakfast benefit as a Titanium Elite with Marriott Bonvoy. It was only when I went back to the front desk after check in to inquire that I was told that we were entitled to 2 free breakfast buffets due to my status (the breakfast buffet is priced at $25 each, so this is a meaningful benefit). I was quite disappointed I had to ask in order to be told about this benefit. Our room was clean and pleasant, though nothing special. The beds were softer than we would have liked. The in-room coffee was surprisingly good. The Concierge Lounge, which we would have had access to as Titanium Elites, is closed on the weekends, which was disappointing. The heated pool was the highlight of our stay - I came with my 4 year old daughter for a staycation. The pool is a good size, and the water was warm and very pleasant. Unfortunately, there is no hot tub (we really wished they had one!). The breakfast buffet was decent, and included eggs, sausage, bacon, pancakes, cut fruit, breads, pastries, and yogurt. I was disappointed that there was no "official" option to be seated outdoors (we are not yet comfortable dining indoors due to Covid, as we have a young child who is not yet eligible for vaccination). We had to take our food out to tables by the cabana area and request coffee to go. No one waited on us or cleared our table. I was also disappointed by how my take out dinner order was handled. I specifically asked the front desk to send my food delivery person up to my room, and they said they would. They never did and our food was sitting in the lobby for 30 minutes before I called down and realized it was there. If they weren't able to send food delivery folks up, I wish they had simply told me that when I asked, so I knew to come down. I did appreciate the fact that all staff at this property were masked - the fact they are continuing to take Covid precautions is great. Great location, clean looking facility. Did it follow preferences/requests. I have two preferences on my account as I'm a frequent traveler: 1- close to an elevator (cause I can't walk far) and 2- feather free (I have a serious allergy). Arrived and used the instant room key, headed straight up. Got to the room - furthest from an elevator, rough rough rough but I made it. Got in, laid in bed and...sneeze sneeze sneeze. Noooo! I messaged the front desk asking if the room was feather free and they said yes. I opened the pillow cases and the tags all say made with duck feathers. They said there were foam pillows in the closet. Checked those, duck too. They gave me free points for my trouble but dang!!! read more
