Our toddler split her lip open pretty badly, and I felt more comfortable with her seeing a pediatrician over an urgent care doctor. They saw her within an hour! I love that they also help treat new moms with post partum care. They seem to generally care that mom is doing okay with the new baby and even help with questions about self care, or direct you to where you can get help. It's so great to feel like they care about family wellness overall. Highly recommend this office and trust them with both of my children.

More recently, they moved to a new location from Truxtun Ave. They are now on Stockdale Highway. The office has definitely changed since she left. We were avid fans of Dr. Lagunda. By far, she had been the best, most attentive pediatrician we've had. However, her new location is far from us, so we've decided to stay at Kern Medical Pediatrics. There were a couple times we visited other offices, such as Stockdale Pediatrics and Brimhall Pediatrics, but those places didn't do it for me. Recently, we've had Dr. Bekarev. She is just amazing. She shows compassion and actually talks to you without feeling like you're being rushed. She listens and treats the kids very kindly. I also appreciate that they don't try to nickel and dime you like Brimhall Pediatrics does. KM is very accommodating, especially if you're running behind. My only issue is that they can be difficult to get a hold of when you try to call them. Sometimes they won't answer and an answering service will take the call instead. But overall, I am pleased with this office.

After finding it just about impossible to find a Dr that will take new patients, I had to take my oldest back to Dr Okezie's office. All I've been trying to do is get my daughter a referral but it has proven to be extremely difficult with this Dr. I was informed on the phone that they had moved locations so when I pulled up I was excited to see the new place. I really didn't like the Mercy Southwest location at all, so this was refreshing. The front office staff was friendly as were the nurses we'd encountered before seeing the Dr. After we'd left the exam room I got to speak to the referral nurse regarding my daughters needs and she was very helpful. My daughter ended up seeing the nurse practitioner instead of Dr Okezie and she was way friendlier and more attentive to her needs. She actually looked at my daughter and asked her questions whereas Okezie never even touched her or seemed interested much at all. Overall this was a much better experience and if we are given the option I would choose to deal with the FNP over the Dr. We finally got the referral and made an appointment so all is good.

The front office staff was consistently rude, unprofessional, and seemed unwilling to help. I even had to call them back myself just to get the text message link they wanted me to use to complete my paperwork. The lack of organization and poor customer service was extremely frustrating. When patients take time off work and wait weeks for appointments, the least a medical office can do is communicate properly and treat people with respect. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. Save yourself the headache and look elsewhere.
