I have had two root canals at San Jose Endodontics. The first one was with Dr. Kim. She was fast and did a great job. It took one hour and there was no pain after the anastesia wore off, in spite of being told it would hurt for a few days. Dr. Chow did the second root canal, which was more complex and more uncomfortable than the first one. He also did a good job, explaining what he was doing and what to expect as he worked on my tooth. It was painful for a few days afterward and I was worried something was wrong, but on day four the pain disappeared. The office staff is very friendly and helpful. read more

Grateful for Dr. Chow! Got 2 Root Canals done by him and I wouldn't have it any other way! He is very comforting and making sure that he explains every procedure he is doing and he also makes sure that the root canals are done properly. Thank you Mr. Chow and staff read more

Incredible care from my first call (Sophia couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful!) all the way through an emergency root canal. Dr. Chow was so kind and informative throughout my procedure, and I could not be happier with the excellent care I received! Highly recommend! read more

They were efficient & personable. I was able to get seen quickly. I appreciated their thoughtfulness in following up with me.

If I could give 10 stars to Dr. David Chow, I would! The day after Christmas, my tooth was in excruciating pain and I needed an emergency root canal. Unfortunately, everywhere I called was closed due to the holiday but Dr. Chow was willing to come in to see me (I'm pretty sure he was on vacation too). I could tell he really cares about his patients. His bedside manners are exceptional and he's so kind, professional and easy-going. The root canal procedure went so smoothly. I was so nervous but Dr. Chow explained every step he was doing so I knew what sound/pressure/feeling to expect. Before I knew it, the procedure was done! I went back for a consultation for another problematic tooth and Dr. Chow took the time to examine it and explain what I should do since it didn't seem like I needed another root canal. I greatly appreciated his honesty and his expert advice. He's seriously the best in the field and I wish he could be my general dentist since I've had such a hard time finding a good, trustworthy one. I live all the way in SF but the drive down here was definitely worth it to see Dr. Chow. Thank you Dr. Chow and team! read more

I cracked a tooth recently and went to my regular dentist who placed a temporary crown on it. A day later, it still hurt and was even getting worse. I called my dentist and he referred me to Dr. Chow at San Jose Endontics. I called them at 11a on a Friday and they were full for the day, heading into a holiday weekend -- their next available opening was Tuesday. They asked questions about what was going on and determined I should be seen right away. I got there around 11:30 and a half hour later, after a variety of tests, I was getting a much-needed root canal. Everyone knows that root canals are an unpleasant procedure but Dr. Chow and his staff showed incredible skill and care. It was quick, easy, relatively low pain and effective. Highly recommend! read more

The doctor I seen, can't remember his name is very knowledgeable. He takes the time to explain to me and very honest. Not cheap, but I don't mind to go back to him if need to be. I actually would prefer him doing my regular stuffs like cleaning and filing but he doesn't do that. He is specialist for what he love to do and I respect that a lot. Just too bad for me. read more

Incredibly kind, competent and compassionate crew at San Jose Endodontics. I was referred by my dentist for my first-ever root canal and was concerned about the procedure due to claustrophobia. Dr. Chow and his staff were extremely understanding and accommodating, and made me feel at ease. After my mouth refused to numb, Dr. Chow patiently waited and took not two but three tries to see if he could remedy the situation - and he did. It's this type of patience and perseverance that made it possible for me to have the procedure. He and his staff were so informative and comforting, and I could not be more appreciative of my experience. They turned what could have been a stressful experience into one that has me leaving a glowing Yelp review ;) SO much gratitude for these folks. read more

Dr. Chow is the best. It is a long wait to get an appointment but when you get one Dr. chow is very caring and kind. He explained everything and answered any questions you may have. I just completed my root canal retreatment two weeks ago and I feel great now. read more

Had to have an emergency root canal done and was able to schedule it right away. Dr.chow did my procedure and I'm so grateful! He explains everything he's doing step by step I'm usually terrified of the dentist and he made me feel at ease. Normally when they give me shot to numb me I'm in so much pain and this time I couldn't even feel it! When my procedure was done I received a call the next day to make sure everything was ok Best dentist experience I have ever had I definitely would recommend anyone to go here! read more

I fell asleep during my root canal. That's how awesome and skilled Dr. Chow is. The staff is friendly and I really appreciate the details of the procedure and being walked through the process. Dr. Chow was nice enough to explain things as he was doing the procedure which was kind of cool. He even showed some of the root when I asked to see what it looked like. Moral of the story: don't chew ice and floss everyday. If you don't and need a root canal, come see these folks. read more

My daughter had a consultation with Dr. Chow about possibly having to redo her route canal. Dr. Chow was wonderful. He quietly told us what he saw on the x-rays and explained what looks like is happening and what her options are. He suggested she get another consultation with implant specialist before making the final decision. Really a great doctor! read more

Perfect experience! I did my root canal with Dr. Chow yesterday! He was the most caring, efficient, kind, and knowledgeable dentist I have ever seen. Before he starts the operation it took us a whole hour to discuss all the options, he answered all my questions very patiently and kindly! The whole process didn't have "ANY" pain, which doesn't sound like a root canal, but mine was such a complicated case and he handled it very professionally. He is the best Endodontics you can go to! read more

Definitely a 5 star review! Dr. Chow is not only excellent in his work but exceptional in his bedside manners. Best root canal experience ever! Thank you Dr. Chow and team :) read more

Oh, Doctor Chow! I wish I can give more stars. What can I say, he is the utmost professional, intelligent, easy-going doctor in this field (my personal opinion) It doesn't get any better. Dr. Chow explains every step of the way and has the most gentle and precise hand movement, you hardly ever feel anything. I went in so nervous, by the time I sat down and the numbing started I was so relaxed. Hands down, the best! read more

I was seen by Dr Moss about a year to 18 months ago for a root canal. The procedure was handled professionally and he was very nice. However there was some infection and extreme pain afterwards. I called the office and was told Dr Moss wasn't in but I another Dr would see me. This woman was terrible. She took a look for about 1 minute and told me she could see no issues and to take Ibuprofen or tylenol (I cannot remember which). I was in agony for days and finally called again and Dr Moss was available. He had to lance my gums to release the infection. The follow up care here is terrible and leaving a patient in extreme pain for about a week is unconscionable. It is the absolute worst dental experience of my life. read more

Definitely five stars. I have only had two root canals in my 62 years but there can't be anybody today who is better than Dr. David Chow!!!!! Staff support was perfect as well! read more

This review is for Dr. Chow, who is a partner of Dr. Moss at the same location. I was referred to him by my usual endodontist in the east bay, because it was a holiday weekend and I had an emergency situation. I had an abscessed tooth (ie: infected) that was about to explode out of my mouth if I did not have a root canal ASAP. I had already been on 3 kinds of antibiotics for weeks, in order to try to avoid my gums ripping open with pus (yum, right?) and was hoping it would be a quick procedure, as I was in unbearable pain for weeks prior. Unfortunately, it was not. It ended up having to be a 2-part root canal due to the amount of infection in my tooth. He did a large part of the root canal on the first day (scary), packed it with meds, sent me home with his personal cell phone number and an RX for meds and booked me a week later to finish the job. The second appointment was a bit shorter and the job was done. Yay! Can I say it was totally pain-free and relaxing? Hell no. But it was better than most, and just short of my usual endodontist's expertise. Also, this sort of root canal will set you back about 2k in insurance (my entire yearly allotment) and another $300 or so out of pocket. I was expecting it, but beware of the cost when these sort of fun surprises arise. read more

This is my first review, and I am excited to share my experience. I LOVE Dr. Chow and his staff. I am an EXTREMELY NERVOUS patient, due to bad experiences in the past. I had a temporary filling pop out a few years ago, and OF COURSE, I just let it go, because I wasn't in any pain. I went to a dentist back in January, and bless her heart, she tried the best she could, but since my anxiety SKYROCKETS at the dentist, she referred me to this office. Again, I got another temporary filling, and let it go for far too long. It fell out over the weekend, and not only did Dr. Chow and his staff accommodate my immediate need for an exam, they were able to fit me in today to finish the work my original dentist had started. Keep in mind, I am a grown woman, but I turned into a 2 year old at the office, just out of pure nerves. Not only did they make me feel at home, but they went out of their way to calm me down, reassure me I was doing good, and the procedure was pretty fast. I had many panic attacks while it was happening, but Dr Chow and his assistant Maria helped me through it, and now the procedure I have been putting off for several months is DONE. I couldn't have gotten through it without the kindness of Dr. Chow and his staff. I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this office. read more

Dr Chaw did my root canal, I'm so glad I'm in such good hands. He is honest and caring, every thing went so well. And I'm very thankful he squeezed me that day so I didn't have to suffer and wait. If you need a root canal just don't hesitate and go straight to Dr Chaw, he is the man. read more

I've been a patient of Dr. Moss for several years, and I have had two root canals performed by him, most recently in April 2018. Dr. Moss is a life saver. I was in the greatest pain I've experienced and he was swift, responsive, evaluative, pragmatic, friendly, and very very effective. I am so happy with his services. When he told me the bill I responded that I would pay much more than that for such great service. I also appreciated how kind and helpful Maria and Amy at his office were. I highly recommend Dr. Moss! read more

Dr. Moss has seen me for 2 problems. A few years ago, I came in with terrible pain that had been going on for six months. No other dentists could figure out where it was coming from. It was not the tooth I thought, and Dr. Moss found the tooth that actually needed the treatment. The root canal was way easier than the suffering beforehand. After seeing him, I slept through the night without pain medication for the first time in months. Today I went to him again. After previous negative exams, he took the time to be certain about which tooth needed help. I saw Dr. Chow once many years ago--also wonderful. Both have amazing skills, and their assistants, Maria--sorry I forget the other person's name--are also kind/helpful which means a lot. read more

Had to write a review so I didn't forget who to go to! Visited Dr. Moss a few years ago for a root canal and had a great experience. Just had a dental emergency and found out I needed a root canal and had to have the dentist dig up who I used last time. They were able to get me in with San Jose Endodontics and this time I saw Dr. Chow. I didn't realize I'd be seeing someone different until I got to the office and was a little nervous so I went straight to Yelp to look him up and was reassured. He was just as great as Dr. Moss. Loved how he explained exactly what he would be doing. Was very reassuring :) read more

Dr. Moss has done several root canals, the most recent one a few days ago. My experience with him has been 100% positive, including three root canals that were pain-free. It has never been the awful experience that I so often hear about from others. If you need a caring office and a clinician with excellent training and experience, I highly recommend Dr. Moss Cindy Gum 7-5-2013 Just had another root canal on the same tooth but opposite side, drat! Once again Dr. Moss did his magic and I am amazed that even the injections are the beet I've ever experienced. I appreciate his concern that I not be in any pain whatsoever and also his ability to keep me informed as to what he is doing. I am hoping this will not be an annual visit but if so, I have complete confidence in Dr. Moss. read more

Dr. David Chow and his staff are simply wonderful. Not too long ago, I was experiencing excruciating and throbbing pain on my lower right jaw. My dentist referred me to San Jose Endodontics to have the tooth be re-treated with a root canal. From my very first contact with this dental office, I already felt comfortable. The receptionist was very sympathetic and fit me into their schedule as soon as they could. I have had plenty of dental work in my lifetime and was definitely NOT looking forward to another root canal. However, upon meeting Dr. Chow, all of my fears and anxiety quickly went away. I can honestly say that the entire procedure was completely painless. He was personable, thorough, and very gentle. Dr. Chow and his assistant worked seamlessly together to save my hopeless tooth. Thank you so much for all your hard work, Dr. Chow. There isn't a better Endodontist in the Bay Area! You are my hero! read more

I had no idea a root canal can be painless! Dr. Chow is truly an expert and is very informative and thorough. My fear of all dental procedures dissipated as he explained every procedure in detail. The most pleasant dentist visit I've ever had. Dr. Chow was informative, caring and thorough. I was in for a root canal and he was very informative during the whole process explaining what he was doing and why. He went the extra mile to make sure I was comfortable and informed. Before I knew it the procedure was over and I was on my way. I was given pain medication for the next day and even received a phone call the next day to follow up on the procedure and make sure everything was ok and I wasn't in pain. This place is awesome. Yup, I'm reviewing a dentist as officially awesome. I'm also high on vicodin right now as I just got back from here getting a root canal. I'll elaborate later tonight. I'll be super tanked on vicodin, so it should be a good review. If you need to get some roots excavated from your grill, go here. **Edit** OK, so...my experience in a nutshell: I get referred by my new dentist to Dr. Moss because I was in serious need of a root canal. The dental assistants there told me that I'd have fun at Dr. Moss's. Er? Fun? I arrive, and while I'm not nervous, I'm definitely not looking forward to having a root canal. I'm always a bit skeptical when I walk into a Dr.'s office, and am anxious to see how the front desk people will be. 6 times out of 10 they're miserable and yell out the fact that you've been on birth control since high school and are due for a pap smear. The front desk lady was very nice, as was the hygienist. Dr. Moss is super friendly, and talks to you like a person, not a patient. During the procedure, I had a bastard of a canal that wouldn't numb, and it hurt like a bitch. I gasped in pain when he hit the nerve, and he actually cared that it hurt. He stopped what he was doing, told me what was going on, explained what had to be done to numb the damn thing, and asked if I was up to it today. We proceeded, and it didn't hurt a bit. The fact that he explained everything to me and was willing to go at my pace made me more comfortable. All in all, great experience...except for the pain after wards. read more

I had to schedule an emergency root canal as my tooth had been giving me unbearable pain for over a week -- in spite of rounds of antibiotics and vicodin. Miraculously, the office was able to fit me in for an apppointment the day after receiving a referral from my dentist and I was able to see Dr. Chow who is as good as it gets when it comes to surgeons. He is very gentle and takes the time to explain every step of the procedure.
