I highly recommend Dr. Lisa Tran at Endodontic Associates Saratoga. A dentist recommended that I see a root canal specialist to see about pain I was having. So I read a lot of reviews about root canal specialists in the San Jose area, and Dr. Lisa Tran was at the top of the list. I have read and heard horror stories about root canals procedures not going well, so I didn't mind the potential of having to pay a higher price for Dr. Tran's services to minimize the chances that I would have to get more work done. At the appointment, Dr. Tran, her assistant, and the administrator/receptionist were all very helpful. Dr. Tran was very thorough by taking multiple panoramic x-rays and performing multiple tests to ensure that the right source of the issue would be found, which was tricky since the pain radiated across my face and the source of pain seemed to change. After a number of tests, she was confident that one tooth needed a root canal and explained why. So I gave her the go-ahead to proceed. Love Dr. Tran. LOVE. My canine tooth was cracked and needed a root canal so I personally sought the best endodontist in the city to have my procedure done. Dr. Tran is well deserving of the 5 star rating that she has gotten across al the platforms. She was amazing at walking me through every procedure from checking to see if my tooth nerves were dead (sadly they were) but then walked me through what would happen after. The first visit is always the most nerve-racking and after mine, I felt really confident. My tooth already felt better after the 1st procedure. Post procedure Dr. Tran is available and she will answer any questions you have afterwards. My 2nd visit was easier, one last clean and then internal bleaching. After my 2nd round of bleaching my tooth looked back to normal. I highly recommend Dr. Tran as she is kind, thorough and does a beautiful job. I really take care of my teeth (no cavities) and to have a cracked tooth (a front one no less) I wanted to make sure i got the procedure done right the first time. Dr.Tran is amazing! My general dentist referred me to Dr. Tran for the need of a possible root canal. Dr.Tran conducted NUMEROUS tests to make sure a root canal was absolutely necessary. She made me feel so comfortable the entire time. Once it was determined I needed a root canal she explained in depth why I needed one. Dr. Tran- where do I begin. I came into her office knowing that I needed a root canal treatment (having had two before I recognized the pain and knew that a Root Canal was going to be necessary). I came in with severe anxiety from a previous root canal treatment that was botched and excruciating and has left me scarred for years. I explained to Dr. Tran my past experience and her bedside manner was incredible. I started to cry telling her how nervous I was (which I was so embarrassed about) and she was so kind and told me that my feelings were completely normal and she promised me that she would make this root canal as pain free as she possibly could. (Which in my head I was thinking - when have I ever had a painless root canal?!) I can tell you with 100% honesty that this root canal was not only virtually painless (aside from the tiny bits of pressure from novocaine), she changed my entire outlook on dental care. She quite literally got rid of my PTSD from the really awful job I had done years ago. She even personally texted me afterwards to make sure I was doing alright! If you want to save your tooth, run to the beautiful & talented Tooth Saver Dr. Lisa Trần. I have a molar tooth that had had 2 root canals more than 20 years, first done by a general dentist, second an endodontist. The specialist did a wonderful job in saving the tooth, but I moved & lost contact of him. More than a month ago, my general dentist, through X-Ray and 3D scan, had found an abscess underneath one molar tooth. She recommended me to consider an extraction and implant. Unfortunately, my insurance does not cover implant and since this abscess is a chronic one, she referred me to a endodontist for a second opinion to see if it could be saved with a root canal. Since it is end of the year, he is so busy and I may not have a chance to have the treatment until next year. In despair, I prayed to God, to my Mom & my Aunt who passed away during the Pandemic. Then I found Dr. Lisa Trần on Yelp. I liked her kind eyes and sporty appearance. I was impressed with her background and expertise, excellent reviews, and proud of her same origin as Vietnamese. I called her office right away and cried for help. The receptionist, Antoinette, was so kind to alert Dr. Lisa and she wanted to see me right away. The office was clean with spaces for social distancing and they strictly followed Covid 19 procedures. The other receptionist, Lisa, took my temperature and kindly assisted me with the forms. Antoinette took my temperature again before submitting me to Dr. Lisa. I felt safe, respected, and cared for. Like an angel, Dr. Lisa held my hands, listened to my story . I could tell she was feeling my pain. While she was examining the 3D scan disk I brought with me, Kaiki, her assistant, gently took X-Ray of the area of my abscessed tooth. Kaiki assured me that I was in good hands. Antoinette let me know that my insurance checked out and I just had to copay for a regular (not urgent) treatment allowable from my insurance. I was so impressed with Antoinette's kindness, transparency, and efficiency. Dr. Lisa thoroughly examined the tooth and other ones around it and found that I also needed urgent care for one of them. She clearly explained to me it had only a successful rate of 50-60%. One of the roots has a post, & the chance of being shattered was high. Luckily, the abscess was from one of the other two roots. I confirmed with her to go ahead with the treatment. She explained she would leave the post alone, & only treat the other two roots. OMG, the surgery went very well. I did not feel any pain. Dr. Lisa explained every single step. She even sang a little when the procedure was almost done :). Kaiki cheered me on with her cute little laughter when I answered Dr. Lisa questions with my thumbs. I felt calm, safe, cared for, and even happy. Next morning, Dr. Lisa texted to check on me. How kind! She even contacted my dentist to ensure the other tooth got urgent care to ensure a quick recovery of the whole area. Five days after the surgery, I was pain free. I had been eating soft food on the other side for more than a month. I felt on cloud nine to be able to chew again, on both sides :). Nothing but LOVE, LOVE, LOVE for Dr. Lisa Trần. To me, Dentists and dental staff are heroes and angels. Medical doctors have the luxury of telemedicine but dentists don't. I had an amazing experience with Dr. Lisa Tran! It is so scary when I heard that I need a root canal. I was so worried about the pain and also the cost!!! My dentist referred me to do it at Compassionate Endodontics. The practice is very clean and pretty. The purple color really calms me down. With my insurance, they paired me with Dr. Tran. She talked me through the whole procedure and how much I need to pay before the procedure to put my mind to ease. My dad's 20 year old root canal on his front tooth got reinfected. His lip was swollen and he was in so much pain. Dr. Tran got him in right away and immediately relieved him from the pain. She retreated the root canal and the swelling went down after a day or two. The second root canal was successful and he has been pain-free since! I cannot express how WONDERFUL Dr. Tran was during my recent root canal. I have major dental phobia and literally have panic attacks at the thought of visiting the dentist for a root canal. Dr. Tran assured me I would be fine and comfortable throughout the process. I remember having horrible experiences receiving novocaine shots and I'm not sure what kind of magic she performed, but I never saw the needle and only felt pressure. No real pain. Once I was fully numb she continued to check in to make sure I had no sensitivity and gave me more novocaine when necessary. I didn't feel much besides pressure and some probing. I was so scared and she really calmed my anxiety. Dr Tran and her assistant were so patient and kind and held my hand during the entire process. It's been 3 days since the procedure and I have no pain or swelling so far. Dr. Tran gave me her number in case I had any questions or concerns but thankfully I have no need to use it. Dr. Tran is the absolute best! I woke up in excruciating pain and found out that I needed an emergency root canal. Dr. Tran was able to fit me in on a Friday and made a seemingly scary procedure calm and almost painless. Amazing!!!! My daughter and I were visiting from Ohio and she started having excruciating tooth pain. I called the office and they scheduled my daughter the same day. My daughter ended up needing a root canal done and Dr. Tran made the entire experience a breeze. She explained everything to myself and my daughter and started the procedure the same day. Luckily, I found Dr Tran online when, after years of having a neglectful dentist, I woke with unbearable pain and swelling throughout my jaws. Dr Tran clearly & concisely explained what was going on in my mouth and discussed my different options for treatment. I needed three root canals and treatment of two abscesses. Throughout all procedures, Dr Tran ensured I was as comfortable as possible before starting, and showed an immense awareness of whether or not I was comfortable during the procedure. She was easy to get in touch with if I had any concerns after treatment. The office was extremely accommodating to having me pop in for follow ups to make sure I was healing ok. For one emergency abscess, Dr Tran was not in and Dr Kaplan cleaned the abcess, doing an excellent job. I was on the verge of losing two teeth, and needing a bone graft on my jaw, and Dr Tran did everything she could to save my teeth, with great success. Dr. Tran is an exceptional endodontist. I had a great experience with her! I decided to pay a visit to Dr. Tran after a poor experience with a previous endodontist. I could immediately tell my experience with Dr. Tran would be an improvement over the previous endodontist. At the previous endodontist, I was rushed through the entire consultation and had essentially no time to ask any questions (they said I could ask the desk staff!). My experience with Dr. Tran was completely different! She met me in the lobby, introduced herself, and took time to get to know me a bit before delving into the details of the procedure. She explained everything clearly and concisely. I had a lot of questions and she was extremely patient with me. I scheduled the procedure immediately after the consultation. The actual procedure (root canal pretreatment) was exceptional. Dr. Tran provided a peaceful environment and was gentle in her work, yet effective. I felt no pain at all during the procedure or the recovery period (I had no need for the medicine she prescribed for pain). She also made herself available via phone call / text message in case I had any questions during my recovery (can I eat X, drink Y, etc.). That was amazing! I highly recommend Dr. Tran! I can't recommend Dr. Tran highly enough. I had never had a root canal before and was extremely nervous. Thanks to her expert, compassionate care, it was an easy, quick, and relatively pain-free experience. Dr. Tran and her dental assistant were the absolute best and I'd recommend them to anyone. I was very uneasy to learn that I needed a root canal during the delicate first trimester of my first pregnancy. Dr. Tran took extra precautions to ensure that she used a novocaine that was safe for pregnancy, lidocaine without epinephrine. The downside of the adjustment is that it's a novocaine that wears off more quickly. Dr. Tran worked swiftly, and when I started to feel slight pain toward the middle of the procedure, she listened to me, stopped immediately, and gave me more novocaine before proceeding. Her staff also did small kind things that helped me feel comfortable, like offering me a blanket. She texted with me the following day to make sure I was managing my swelling and soreness, even though it was her birthday and her one day off!
