The curriculum is very challenging and the school hold the kids to very high standards academically and morally. We have felt that it is a school that requires a lot of family involvement whether it is volunteering in the classroom, sporting events, in the cafeteria or putting on enriching activities for the kids. The school is very diverse and everyone is invited to pitch in. I really love that the kids go through middle school in the same elementary environment. It is a very nurturing and caring environment yet it does not caudal kids. I would highly recommend San Jose Catholic school!

On more than one occasion, I witnessed a tone that felt harsh and intimidating toward students, including yelling. As a parent, it is painful to watch children being spoken to in a way that can embarrass them or make them feel afraid. I also felt disrespected as a parent during communication. Instead of calm, professional conversation, I experienced dismissive responses and a tone that did not reflect patience, empathy, or partnership with families. When parents raise concerns, we should feel heard--not talked down to. Another concern was what appeared to be favoritism, where certain children received gentler treatment while others were corrected in a more aggressive way. In a school environment--especially a Christian school--every child should feel equally valued, protected, and treated with dignity. I truly hope the administration takes parent concerns seriously and improves accountability and communication moving forward. She has beautiful handwriting, a good attitude, a great vocabulary, and she understands self-governance and the virtues being taught there. Her education is well rounded. I would humbly submit that the also deliver even more than one could ask for. Additionally, they are regularly offering events, onsite and offsite that you can participate in. The onsite events are not expensive if you choose to do a Spirit night and support a local business it's not too expensive. The new gym, the Hangar (Jet themed of course) is complete, athletics are coming along nicely, they will have more Arts offerings, clubs are happening.... If you refuse to be pleased here I don't know what to tell you. They're responsive. I have not had one experience that made me feel like no one cares. Are they perfect? Not too sure if I cared for that my daughters last two teachers were very approachable and were more sociable and got the opportunity to know myself and my child a bit better. She's very closed off and honestly a bit odd but does educate my child. The teacher was very by the book and kept me informed of all activities in a timely fashion. However, not sure if is the school or the teacher but it seems her other school had parents more involved. My mother and I used to volunteer between two and five days a week I sign a form at the beginning of the year to come in very 2 weeks and do art history lessons to the class and I was never contacted. As well as I have offered several times to volunteer and was never contacted. I also wish there was more clarification on release of parent information. The teacher gave my info to the room mother someone I didn't know and she "accidentally" attached me to an email ad for some kind of diet pill she was selling! Told the teacher no apology from them but emails stopped. Recently I started receiving emails from another parent....that's frustrating!! Besides these quirks the school it self is very nice, clean, great staff. She's only in second grade so here's to 3 more years!!
