This Filipino bakery is located inside the Island Pacific supermarket. It is a small space however I can tell you there was an extensive selection of bakery goods. There were all types of different bakery goods and they were all packaged very neatly and conveniently for grab and go. I was just absolutely fascinated by all the choices. I wouldn't even know where to start to try any of these items. I think I will have to make friends with somebody who's Filipino just to give me a tour of this bakery. It is such a fun adventure. San Honore Panaderia, is a small Filipino bakery inside of Island Pacific immediately to your right as you enter. They make their own breads, pastries, dessert onsite. Service is quick and easy. What we buy here; 1) Pok asado siopao - the meat is good but we think the bread part of it is too dense and thick throwing off the ratio. 2) Empanada - we love their empanada here. The meat is tender, juicy and well flavored. The size of the empanada is good too. 3) Ube hopia - one of my kids are crazy for this one. 4) Hopia baboy - I like this flavor a lot. 5) Pan de sal - so good 6) Cheese ensaymada 7) Taho - OMG so good. They make this fresh and I get it while it is still nice and hot. It's not overly sweet like some places I have ordered this from. We love this bakery and are so glad that they are here in South OC. You can also collect points from your purchases here for discounts. We haven't purchased or tried everything that they have to offer just yet, but what we have tasted has been delicious. I always love eating the Nutella bread here and ube. A must have for anyone with a sweet tooth. I always get a fast service and the place has tables on the side if you want to eat there. I think it's clean for a small side business and I'm happy it's doing well to keep baking them goods. read more

Customers were waiting for some delicious to be taken out of the bakery oven. Very inviting panaderia - everything looks and smells so good. We purchased some sweets and had the opportunity to taste some of the different variations of cultural sweetbreads. I especially like the coconut ones ! They had Good prices and fast service too. Pan de sal was the reason for this 8 am early visit. Warm and fresh baked. It's served in a white paper bag with a spare plastic bag for later storage. I ate one within minutes as I did when I grew up in Laguna, Philippines. Just the aroma is a time travel machine to my Lola's hometown bakery! Enjoy! read more

On my first occasion I bought ube halaya & ensaymada. Both items were very good, and comparable to other Flip chain bakeries. The cashiers are friendly, and they offer the same rewards program as the market: Just key in your phone number. In addition, you can enjoy your items in the same casual seating area as Phil House. Make it a trifecta when you visit Island Pacific like we did. We had a meal at Phil House, bought some groceries at IP, and then bought some sweets at San Honore on the way out. My girlfriend and I came into store August 31st and made some purchases at the market and decided to shop here on the way out as well. We bought a Ube marble loaf that they had displayed on counter near register. All of them were labeled 5.99. We checked out and went to car and my girlfriend said we were overcharged and showed me receipt. We were charged 7.99. She insisted I went back in to have them correct it so I went back inside with her and kindly let them know we were overcharged and showed them receipt and price tag labeled on the package. The lady was rude and told me "no its 7.99" as if I am retarded and can't read numbers so I showed her the tag and this time she looked at it and then came around the counter to find them on the main shelf and said "see? They are 7.99" this lady picked up a completely different item to compare... so then we, once again, showed her the tag on item we purchased AND also showed her the display of the actual item we bought which were ALL labeled 5.99. Every single item. She was upset so called her manager to explain and complain in non English (my girlfriend understands) the manager apologized and said the items were mislabeled by his employees. I told him I understand and that happens as I have been a grocery manager for 14 years and have had to deal with same issues regularly. It happens. So they refunded money and that was it. We still wanted the loaf but they wouldn't sell it for labeled price and walked away from us making us feel oushed away and proceeded to put the product we walked out with BACK on the shelf... I have been in grocery for 20 years... you CAN'T put food that a customer walked out with and returned back on shelf for resell. People tamper with food and health codes are broken. This place needs to learn what good customer service is and basic health codes in regards to dealing with food. Anywhere else this would have happened, including my own stores, would have simply taken care of customer and charged them for the labeled price and fixed the others on the shelf afterwards. Simple. Instead, we were insulted and walked away with nothing to try from this bakery except for a terrible experience. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more

Nice surprise! This little bakery on the right side just as you enter Island Pacific had 3 terrific bread options my friends and family absolutely enjoyed. What a treat for all! I haven't had super fresh pandesal (like from Betsy's) since I was a kid. The ones here are squarish, super soft, tasty and quite large. The cheese bomb bread had just the right balance of sweetness and unsweetened cream cheese filing, it's almost like you put a big scoop of Philadelphia cream cheese and put it inside a warm lightly sugared (on top) pandesal but the cheese didn't melt. Had the nicest experience! I'm not well versed in Filipino sweets. Thankfully there were samples! I the worker told me what was what and I tasted both and the coconut and egg pies. The coconut was a little too sweet so I bought the egg pie. Tastes like egg tarts you find at dim sum places but only $11. Not only that she gave me not one hot fresh roll but 6 of them for free! This is a bakery inside the new island pacific in Granada hills. Looks clean. Expensive bakery with subpar items. Pandesal is good and fluffy otherwise I would skip if you want other bread offerings. IMO the only one I would buy again. Siopao - super fluffy and soft with very little filling. Chunks of pork fat, I mean chunks probably a quarter worth of the little filling it has inside. Taho - the roughest silken tofu drink I've ever get had in my life PERIOD! Super pass!!!! Cheese roll - 6 small pieces for 8.99, if you have the money maybe ok, taste is ok. But again IMO way overpriced. I'm on the fence about this! Service is ok, they're nice. read more

Island Pacific opened a location in SOC! Hooray! Inside the grocery store, is San Honore, a bakery that serves Filipino baked goods, and Taho (warm sweet soft tofu drink).   On my first visit, I tried their TAHO, EMPANADAS, and SIOPAO. The Taho tasted like crap, the Empanadas were mediocre, but their Siopao was great!    I had been craving Taho for the longest time, but I haven't found one that's nearly as good as the ones they sell at the dirty smelly streets in the Philippines.  Those are the best!  It is almost worth the trip.   The Empanadas weren't good at all.  It had way too much dry meat filling. It was tasty, but it was too much which made it overwhelmingly meaty.   The Siopao though, was delicious!  The bun was super soft, and the Pork Asado filling was just the right amount.  My favorite part was the bread bun; it was thick, moist, and with a slight hint of sweetness.    On my second visit, I got their UBE ROLL.  It just came fresh out of the oven, super soft, and steamy hot.  It was so good!  I almost ate the entire roll, but thankfully my son grabbed it away from me and devoured the rest of it.  This roll is not too sweet.  In fact, "sweet-tooths", won't probably appreciate the lightness of this pastry.   I'm so thankful for this small bakery shop inside Island Pacific.  I will definitely keep going back to taste more of their other baked goods. read more

Bread a little bit on the dry side, went here to try the dim sum, both shumai 4pcs for 4.99, size is decent larger than chowkings, price wise I would go for Won Kok in Chinatown for the amount, will try the taho next time, just buy here for convenience, but if you're around Auntie Dee's in Eagle Rock just go there, service is courteous with some free samples in the morning, place was decent since it is inside with Island Pacific grocery and other related establishments that share the same program rewards. read more

The lady who served us (name on receipt is Eileen U) shouldn't be working here. No smile, no greeting, just rushed, unpleasant service. Put us off. We wanted to buy more but she wasn't in the mood to serve anyone at all. This staff is ruining your business, she wasn't on uniform until about 930am where she wore a uniform & hairnet. Not buying anything from this place when this staff is on. Just the poorest service experience we've had. Will tell our family and friends too. read more

Just moved to the Laguna area from the Bay Area, and we are so glad we found this bakery.Bonus that it's in island pacific and next to Phil House.If this bakery was in the Bay, it would definitely be busy all the time. The food is so good, fresh, and I love that they give free samples.The samples I taste, I end up buying the product.We tried the "cheese bomb," bought one, then came back later and bought two more containers of it.We have also had the taho, kababayan bread, cheese pimiento bread, and bonette. I haven't tried the bonette one yet, but I will update on that.The taho is good but needs more of the syrup and less of the taho, especially drinking it with a straw versus with a spoon. The kababayan bread I has just the right amount of sweetness , and is spongy. The cheese bomb bread has some sugary sweetness on the top and cream cheese inside.I can honestly eat just the top like a sweet pan de sal. I love the cheese pimiento bread, although the pimiento pieces are chunkier or bigger than I'm used to.The staff is nice and the prices aren't too bad either.The portions for each product are great too. read more

First off, the staff is extreme friendly and helpful. I go there one or twice a week and they are consistently great with their customers. Okay so just a warning: I'm writing this review only for the Taho. I'm just gonna rant. I mentioned how often I go. Only once was I ever completely satisfied with the Taho I got. And I always get 2 just in case one isn't sweet enough (I use more syrup from the second one). Typically, they will always give you too little syrup and too much tofu. And if that wasn't bad enough, the slices of tofu are too thick (literal huge chunks). I know it must be a pain to slice them thin correctly, but I will GLADLY wait another minute or two for my $5 Taho to be done right. I guess it just depends on who is making it for you. It doesn't seem like they have standard instructions for it because it always tastes different every time. I'm sad because this is the closest place I can get Taho and I make special trips here just for it. I got some today and it was the worst batch. I got 2 as usual but I could only eat about 1/4 of each cup because there was barely any syrup. I implore you guys to please improve the Taho. I'm starting to get discouraged from going back at all, but I keep wanting to give them another chance. I guess we'll see. read more

I was walking out of Island Pacific when I saw the ube loaf breads in the oven at San Honoré. It smelled really good, so I stopped by and bought a loaf along with two chicken empanadas. I couldn't resist the freshly baked ube loaf, so I ate some of it as soon as I got in my car. It was to die for! Better than Goldilocks and Red Ribbon in my opinion. I'm ready to go back tomorrow to get fresh pandesal and siopao ... and of course another ube loaf bread. read more

I came to this place for the first time on a Sunday. The girl at the counter had this grouchy face and demeanor that was very unwelcoming. I was almost afraid to order but I was in a good mood that day and hungry. I ordered a dozen empanadas, 4 pork siopao, ube loaf and 2 taho. The empanada filling was proportional to the dough but chicken was a bit dry and hard to swallow or chew. Empanada taste was just okay, it can use less raisin for a hefty price of 3.25 each. Red Ribbon's has better tasting empanada. The siopao is a good size for $5.25 each and taste good even without sauce. The ube loaf was good too but not enough ube filling. The taho is not as good as in the picture because they put the very small sago instead of the standard size as pictured. The caramel sauce was very watery and not like syrup enough. I was very surprised that everything totalled $81.50 because I thought the girl added them wrong. I asked for the price of each one and it was added correctly but I also asked for a price list for future reference and they don't have one. I would come back here just for the siopao and nothing else. It was not a good experience and would not recommend. read more
