One of our favorite hotels on our Italy trip. They welcomed us with strawberries and champagne and chocolates in our room, which was big and had a beautiful view of the duomo, and was centrally located. Our kitchenette was cute and had a minibar where everything was free except alcohol. This included some sodas and snacks. They have a happy hour in the afternoon with wine and water for guests, but no sodas. Their spa, however, was very disappointing. It's basically a room in their basement with a couple rickety massage tables, some cushioned lounge chairs, a sauna, and a hot tub. The massages my husband and I got were not very good (lots of hard rubbing without enough oil). I would not recommend getting a massage here, even if it's a good offer in combination with the hotel room, which is how they got us. The hotel, however, I would recommend.

We stayed at San Firenze from March 18-21 as a family of 4. We were in the suite. If we go back to Florence, this is where we will stay. Their service is EXCEPTIONAL. Every single staff member was great. Courteous, polite, helpful, responsive... I cant say enough good things about them. They made all restaurant reservations for us, even for other cities we were travelling to. They made transport arrangements with an excellent company. The location is FABULOUS. Its literally 10-15 minutes from all major attractions. Pros: STAFF, Breakfast Spread, Locations Cons: The electrical outlets in the bedroom of our suite were no compatible with the adapters. The ones in the bathroom worked better. They should also invest in some USB ports. The second area of improvement were the beds in the bedroom. They were oddly lumpy and gave us back pain.

My wife and I spent several days at San Firenze Suites recently and were extremely happy with the quality of the accommodations and particularly with the service we received from the staff. I made reservations on line directly with the hotel and was very happy with the quality of the responses I received. I immediately received a detailed confirmation and was able to arrange a pickup at the airport on our arrival and a drop off on departure. The staff were very helpful in making a variety of arrangements for us including reservations (necessary) at the Uffizi and a personal guide who showed us Florence as well as the gallery. The staff also made some excellent suggestions for nearby restaurants and helped us with reservations, called for cabs, helped with train tickets for a trip we made to Lucca etc. The room was quiet and luxurious and very comfortable. The location can't be beat it is on Piazza San Firenze which is a few short steps from the Uffizi, Palazzo Vechio and many other attractions. There are many relatively non-touristy restaurants near by (see my other reviews). The breakfast was very good. San Firenze Suites is a boutique hotel not a budget hotel but I have found that in touristy cities like Florence it is worth having a very nice hotel so that one can escape from the crowds for a while. I highly recommend the San Firenze Suites and would definitely return.

My wife and I stayed 3 nights as part of our honeymoon. There couldn't be a better location in the heart of Florence and on top of that the hotel is beautiful, clean, and full of great service. The room wasn't large and comfortable. Breakfast was incredible - a great spread and they make you fresh espresso or cappuccinos too. Staff was amazing the entire stay. The only constructive feedback i have is that the marble shower floor was too high so the water ran over and out of the shower so we had to soak it up with a towel after a shower, but still a 5 star and I'd stay here again and recommend it to anyone going to Florence.

The hotel was centrally located, and it's one of the more modern, elegant hotels we've stayed at during our trip. The Duomo and Piazza Santa Maria Novella were steps away from the hotel, and it's a less than 10 minute taxi to the train station. Their complimentary breakfast was amazing. They offered a huge variety of items including hot food, tortes, cereals, fruit, cheeses, parfaits, quiches, etc. I enjoyed a latte every morning with them. Our room at Hotel Spadai was excellent. Very spacious with tall ceilings and had plenty of room for us to lay out 2 large pieces of luggage and 2 small carry-ons. The bathroom was big as well, but the shower was disproportionate to it. The shower felt so much smaller, and what's weird was its two double doors. The doors met at the corner of the shower and didn't close all the way, so water could easily escape to the floor. Other than that, I would 1000% stay at this hotel again next time I'm in Florence.

The room and bathroom were spacious, luxurious, and beautifully designed. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and every detail of the experience felt thoughtful and elevated. The amenities were fantastic -- especially the unexpected happy hour at the bar, which was such a lovely touch. And the breakfast buffet? Truly unmatched. I'm convinced every future hotel breakfast will pale in comparison. I still think about the incredibly fresh raspberries and strawberries I had every morning! I also loved the robes and slippers provided in the room, which made the stay feel even more comfortable and indulgent. The location is perfect -- close to everything and just steps from the Duomo, yet surprisingly peaceful and not overly noisy. The hotel itself smells amazing and is decorated in such a beautiful, modern style. I honestly can't say enough wonderful things about this hotel. It was worth every penny, and I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

It was built in the 6th century AD by the Byzantines as part of the "newer" city walls to augment the older Roman ones and protect the city during the Gothic War. The circular shape, which was rare in the Middle Ages, reflects ancient Roman building techniques. The tower rests on a circular wall that surrounded a swimming pool or Roman thermal bath. In the basement there is a calidarium, with brick floor channels for heat, which would have been used for steam baths. According to our guide, Roberta, it was used as a women's prison in the 12th century. Pagliazza references the straw mat bedding upon which the inmates slept. Later on, it was converted into the bell tower of a church. Eventually it was acquired as a private residence. Today it is home to a luxury hotel with a small museum and restaurants. The museum showcases artifacts from excavations dating back to the Roman and medieval times. Although we didn't stay here, the history of the Pagliazza Tower is very interesting.

Checking in was easy with an accommodating staff. The rooms are nice, but not fabulous, The elevator system confuses everyone! The breakfast (complementary for us) was quite good. While the location is fabulous and the staff quite nice, I expected a slightly nicer room for the price, but as they say, location, location, location.

We were starving, it was rainy and just got off the train from Rome so we even had our luggage. The service was impeccable, they took care of our coats and luggage right away and seated us. The restaurant was peaceful and gorgeous. I still remember thinking "oh awkward we are underdressed for this!" I usually don't get impressed by decors of restaurants but the color and the elements and the layout of the restaurant somehow just gave me the relaxation I needed. We loved our entire experience but the highlight was the food. Every single dish was beautifully prepared and so so delicious. We fell in love with truffle here. And don't think we have had truffle that blew our mind elsewhere after (including Michelin two and three stars). I can taste the chefs mastery of the ingredients. No dish was overly complicated but each ingredient and sauce just complemented each other perfectly. You feel like you are in the forest where the food comes from. It's one of the meals I remember the most vividly, even after 4 years. Even on our culinary journey throughout Italy, this was a clear highlight. My only regret is we didn't purchase the truffle products here. I highly recommend this restaurant!
