We stopped in at La Cabaña by JUAN for an early dinner and had a decent overall experience. One…read morething I appreciated right away was that drinks come in generous pitchers -- great value if you're going with a group. Chips and salsa were brought to the table without having to ask, which is always a welcome touch. Service was attentive considering there was only one server handling the floor. Props to them for keeping things running smoothly. The food was middle-of-the-road -- not the best Mexican I've had, but certainly not the worst either. If you're looking for a solid, no-surprises meal, it'll do the job. The atmosphere is actually one of the highlights. It's a nice bar setting, well-lit, and wasn't overly loud during our early visit -- easy to hold a conversation, which isn't always a given at a bar. Now, the restrooms could use some attention. They're a bit dated and in need of updating. I did get a chuckle out of the handwashing requirement sign posted prominently on the wall -- right next to the one soap dispenser that happened to be completely empty. It makes you wonder how closely that policy is actually enforced. Overall, La Cabaña by JUAN is a fine spot for drinks and a casual bite. Just maybe bring your own hand sanitizer.

If you've read my reviews: service is the lowest priority to me, but this was so bad it really affected the experience. We were seated at 5:25. Our waitress, Daisy, didn't get our food order until 5:45. We didn't get our food until 6:40 (not exaggerating). Then, they gave us the wrong orders. I didn't start eating until 7. Water and drinks were not refilled. Our waitress did not check on us. The place was not packed. Then we waited 30 minutes for our check. We got tired of waiting, so I went to find her. She was in the front goofing off with the other staff. We arrived at 5:25 and didn't leave until 8:45 and it wasn't because we were having such a great time - it's because we were waiting. SO! If you got time to kill and want some decent Mexican food: come here. We ate all the chips and salsa waiting for our food. Then received wrong orders. Oh! If you want chile rellenos: be sure to say "poblanos". Apparently they have a "poblano" dish and then a side of "chile relleno" which is actually just a stuffed bell pepper. Talk about menu confusion. Positives: large space for large parties. Live music. Food was good with good pricing.

Mi Casita is a fairly typical, small town Mexican place aimed at locals. The service was friendly…read moreand the food was average. The salsa was way too garlicky and had zero heat. It also had an odd taste of cucumber. My wife had chile relleno and it a little odd. Rather than a fried stuffed pepper, it was a small sliver of pepper covered in ground beef and melted cheddar. It wasn't the greatest. My cheese enchiladas covered in chicken were fine.

Our hopes were not high. His food allergies make dining out hard. He decided to put his fate in the hands of our server and I took the leap as well. We ended up with two dishes that we shared. The big shrimp burrito and some sort of enchilada with verde sauce. Both dishes tasted so fresh and had so much flavor. We were shocked. This is not what we expect from small town Mexican. Both dishes had been altered from the menu so that my husband could safely eat. Both dishes were amazing. We will be back. Thanks to our server and to whoever was running the kitchen.

Not many other close restaurants nearby, so expectations are low). When we ordered today, we pointed to the lunch menu. We said lunch menu. Yet we were charged $5.00 more than the menu prices. Ordered way before the lunch menu time ended. Waiter spoke to the owner in Spanish. Owner would not fix our bill. We had no choice but to take the difference from the tip. There must of been a language barrier, for our waiter. Otherwise the food was good today. The cheese stuffed peppers are always good. As is the guacamole salad. They always accommodate our vegetarian family members. Sadly we will not be back because of the way we were treated today. We've been customers for several years. Daughter of owners actually made a joke about me. Very tacky. And so very rude. I didn't yell or do anything rude to deserve that.

They know the average person is not going to drive back to the restaurant. No best thing go do is just find somewhere else to eat. The Reputation got us there but the quality of the food was not good enough to bring us back. I suppose they try to run their business on one time sales. Eventually that sill catch up on a business.
