Stumbled upon Samadhi today after visiting Brandenburg gate and were excited to have a warm meal as it's a bit chilly in Berlin right now. We must have entered just as they opened because some of the chairs were still stacked and unfortunately their credit card machine was out. The food was great! We ordered a glass noodle soup, noodle salad with spring rolls and vegetable pad Thai. Everything on the menu was veggie friendly and many items were able to made vegan. We also got a ginger tea which was served traditionally in a nice hot pot with honey. I appreciated it wasn't just a tea bag in hot water. There were slices of ginger and lime steeping. We felt the Asian food was a little bland compared to what we re used to in the US but they had chili paste which helped! read more

Very satisfied & filling, especially after a long chilly day walking around. Pad Thai was just a bit bland but with the chili sauce mixed in made it sooo good. Spring roll was really good too. The Jasmine tea was good but they definitely could have put some more tea leaves in the tea bag to make the tea stronger. Would definitely go back again. read more

We ended our four hour tour at the Brandenburg Gate and was starving after, luckily stumbling upon this gem. My favourite dishes were by far the tomato tamarind noodle soup, which is so satisfying. It has a yummy sweetness from the tamarind, balanced well by all the other spices put in. Coming from South East Asia, I was surprised to have one of the best noodle soups I have ever had in Berlin. I also thoroughly enjoyed the tofu and veggie hot plate dish. The sauce was addictive and their assortment of vegetables was delicious. I can't wait to come back. read more

I luckily just happened to find this veg restaurant while walking around Mitte in Berlin, and boy was I happy! It can be a little difficult to find "safe" restaurants where you don't have to ask "does this contain beef broth?" I checked out the place online at Happy Cow and saw the positive reviews, so we headed there that evening. Not sure about the previous Yelper, but we found the owner and cook very friendly and helpful, along with speaking English to a point. We are in a foreign country, so of course not everyone speaks English! Anyway, they offered an English menu along with photos of all of the items (quite extensive menu.) We loved the food and ate there twice during our stay. Foreign restaurants are not known for spicy food (can be bland for those of us who like a little kick in our food) so we were happy to have some hot chili to add to our order. The hot and sour soup was delicious, which was a nice surprise since I usually don't like fruit in my entree (it contained pineapple.) This needed no addition of spice and opened up my sinuses! I was sad thinking I couldn't check into restaurants in my phone in Germany without a data roaming charge, however, I can still write reviews! This is my first international one. I spent this Christmas in the Berlin area. After three days of not being able to eat many vegetables during the Christmas celebration since German Christmas food seems to only contain meat, bread, cheee, and booze, I had to have something green. My friend told me to find somewhere that I wanted to eat, so I found this place online and had my friend take me there. We came for lunch, so there was a special with an appetizer and a main course. I had the miso soup and the yellow curried vegetables. The miso soup was nothing special, but not bad either. The vegetable curry was full of fresh, crisp veggies in a mild curry sauce, which was exactly what I wanted. I ordered lime juice with soda water and sugar for a drink which was refreshing, but the glass was was tiny and it was 3.50 Euros which was a bit steep for that portion. My friend had the same main course, but a crispy wonton for an appetizer. It looked really good. The food itself was priced fairly though and the portions were large. I barely finished mine. The service was prompt, which was great because we were actually running a bit late to our next destination. If I was in the area for lunch I'd probably eat here again, but I wouldn't go completely out of my way to find it. read more

Great for vegetarians and vegans. Plenty of outdoor seating which is great on those hot days, however the abundance of wasps was definitely anoying. The menu has so many items to choose from and I was suprised that they could come up with such a variety. The staff is really nice and the prices are fair. Being vegan, I always get excited to try new veg friendly cafés around Berlin. I stopped here for lunch the other afternoon and had one of their noodle dishes with tofu and veggies. It was very frustrating to get any service at this restaurant, twice: on Sunday early dinner, due to CSD Pride, it was understandably busy, but the only person that appeared to be working there literally was running to attend to various tables. She sat guests ahead of us waiting in line. For the following 10+ minutes, she never made eye contact or said anything to us. People behind us pointed out there were a few tables left and perhaps we should just sit ourselves. I moved further forward and tried speak with the woman but she just kept running passing right in front of us, the people behind us literally blocked her to get her attention and were ok'd to take a table. After seeing so many people were waiting to be served while seated, we figured we would likely be there for hours, thus decided to leave. Being a vegetarian and vegan place, we wanted to support the business, thus went back there the following day, for a late lunch, around 13h40. Most tables were empty, another woman was eating her lunch but she told us to have a seat, gave us the menu, wrapped up her meal and cleared her table. She then proceeded to put multiple tables together, making a long table. As two other parties were seated on each end of the long table and drinks were served, we were surprised we were not offered to order our drinks, and we tried to make eye contact that we were ready to order but were entirely ignored: this woman and the one from the previous day started making copious number of drinks: a large party must have arrived and sat on the other side of the restaurant. Two new customers arrived and were told to have a seat at the long table, meaning the middle, but they had luggage thus decided to seat at the free standing table next to us. I walked over to the counter where she was making the drinks and told her we were ready to order, with the menu in my hand. She said I'd need to wait for her coworker to come back. When she saw the new arrivals sitting next to us, she told them to sit in the long table, they decided to leave; she looked at our table, almost grabbed her pad (as if to take our order) but decided to go back to the counter. When her coworker came back, they continued making more drinks. After several more minutes, my husband and i gathered our belongings and left, on our way out, we passed by the two women, i asked her one last time if we could order, she said they are busy. I really hope they provide better service and continue thriving. Perhaps a sign out there stating why long waits may occur or no new customers are accepted for a certain number of hours so that other santients be treated with respect. read more

If you're in the area and looking for veg, and tasting East Asian food, this is pretty decent: you'll be handed a giant menu of photographs and get to pick from numerous options. This was a fantastic vegan, vegetarian Vietnamese restaurant. It is so wonderful to go to an asian restaurant and nearly everything is vegan (the few non-vegan options are clearly marked). We had wonderful noodle dishes, baked tofu, and an amazing fried tofu in a Vietnamese leaf that came to the table crackling hot. The food was delicious, plentiful (wonderfully large portions) and reasonable in price (for the quality). It tasted of such high and fresh quality, without a heavy after-feel. Food is good and there's a lot to choose from - always a plus when visiting a vegetarian restaurant. Dishes range from curries and noodles, to vegetarian versions of tranditional Chinese/Thai/Vietnamese/pan-Asian mid/range restaurants. But portions are relatively small for the price. 12.50 euros for a smallish plate of veggie pad thai!?! Better to go with one of the lunch specials if possible, but then you're down to just 3 or 4 choices. Prices are probably driven up by the per diem and expense account crowds given the location. This is more of an Asian vegetarian place. The food was edible, but not enough. We were still hungry afterwards, but the reflux of the flavors that kept coming up my throat reminded me I'm likely glad to not have eaten more. The veggies were mushy and drenched in sauce. The flavor is a bit bland by our taste but we hear that Germans don't like their food spicy so they may have localized the flavor. It's a nice enough place but like much of the asian food in Germany it suffers from overly gloopy sauces and heavy frying. There aren't many vegetarian eateries in that area (one block over from Unter den Linden, on Wilhemstr.) I'd go back, but it wouldn't be my first choice. read more
