The whole ambience and vibe of the restaurant is really nice. Granted, we were the only people there at the time, but it's still a really cozy and relaxing atmosphere in my opinion. The waitress that helped us was more than kind as well. Very nice, great service. The only thing I wish they would've asked is if we wanted the bill split, they just brought it to both of us. I was with my sister so we had to split it later. We didn't want to inconvenience them so we just paid the full bill. The BBQ pork bun was absolutely amazing. For only $5.50, I would recommend getting it as an appetizer. It's a fairly decent size too so you could split it with at least one other person. Or, you could have the whole thing to yourself!!! I'll probably get one just for me next time. I liked the chicken satay skewers. Those are really good. But, I was expecting more than just two small chicken skewers for the cost. Really good flavor though. Then we got sushi rolls. They were all fantastic. I remember I got the Ooka Roll. It's the most expensive role on the menu, but it's fantastic. I think we also got the 150th roll. Also fantastic. Overall, I really recommend this place if you want some sushi. Just be prepared to pay a lot of money. If you need a cheaper option, there are other sushi places that are a bit cheaper close by. But these guys are very good and I will be back. I would rate 4.5 out of 5 stars, but Yelp only lets me do full stars - so I'm bumping it up to a 5. I'm excited to try their hibachi when we go back, and more sushi.

Quite enjoyed this place. I'd recommend checking it out if you like sushi. If we lived closer, I…read morecould definitely see myself coming back from time to time. It's a very small shop, with room for maybe 5 to 8 people total, if I remember correctly. That said, it seemed clean and well maintained. I loved the large digital menu. We ate inside, and my only complaint was that the tables felt a little sticky. We got there right when they opened on a Sunday, and aside from a few people stopping in for takeout, we had the place to ourselves. We started with the popcorn chicken and yum yum sauce. I'm not sure if they make the breading themselves or if it's frozen chicken that's simply deep fried, but I really liked it. In fact, I liked it so much that I ate most of it without the yum yum sauce, which surprised even me because I usually drown everything in yum yum sauce. My wife got the avocado roll and snow crab roll and really enjoyed it. She especially liked that each piece wasn't overloaded with rice. That was a big plus for her. I got the Fuji Roll. I liked it, but I didn't love it. I'd probably try something different next time, though I don't have any major complaints. It just wasn't my favorite sushi roll. Price wise. It's sushi so not cheap, but I think it's very much in line with other sushi shops and maybe even cheaper at times. It did take a long time for our order to be ready. But I know that can happen when making sushi. But don't walk-in assuming you are going to be in and out in 10-15 mins. It can take a while. I do wish our appetizer would have came first instead of waiting and getting everything at once. That also could have made the wait time feel less. The biggest thing that contributed to my star deduction was that they don't offer free water. It felt a little odd to have to buy a bottled water in 2026 at a restaurant, just to have something to drink with lunch.

You pay when you first arrive with cash or card (they only take visa and mastercard). Note that if you pay with a card and add a tip, they will just give you cash from the register for the tip amount to leave at your table when you leave. I would bring cash to tip your server with at your table. After paying, you can seat yourself anywhere and a server will come by and take your beverage order. The buffet includes unlimited soft drinks, drip coffee, and hot tea. Their Dr. Pepper is extra syrupy compared to normal fountain drinks, would recommend! Throughout the meal, the server will clear your empty plates and at the end of the meal they will drop off fortune cookies and towelettes. Crab days are Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays. During these days they serve lil crabs. There is also a build your own noodle station where you can choose your mix-ins and sauces, and they'll fry it up for you. The fried rice is solid and the garlic toast is shockingly really good. Food is pretty fresh and warm, and there are people constantly refilling trays and cleaning the buffet.

The restaurant is located in a strip mall, and most of the businesses in that strip mall have signs posted saying "No buffet parking," which limits the available spots unless you don't mind walking a short distance. We got there just before the dinner rush and managed to find a few open spaces. Inside, the restaurant was beautifully decorated. We went up to the front counter, told the gentleman how many were in our party, and paid for our meals. One thing that stood out was the tip process, when you choose to leave a tip during payment, they hand it to you in cash so you can personally give it to your server. I thought that was a really nice touch from Dragon Star. The buffet itself had an impressive variety of options, including a Hibachi station. What caught my attention about the Hibachi was how the two cooks used a round grill and long sticks to prepare the food, it was entertaining to watch and they made sure the food went neatly into each customers bowls. However, one thing I didn't like was that the pork and chicken were placed too close together and were touching, which isn't ideal for those of us who don't eat pork. On the plus side, the cooks kept the grill spotless between uses, which was great to see. They also offered plenty of desserts and had a ton of seating. Despite the limited parking, the buffet is reasonably priced, has a good selection of sushi, and offers a great dining experience overall. My wife and I definitely plan to return, next time we'll try to go before 4 p.m., since things get pretty hectic around 5, but that's to be expected with all the good things Dragon Star has to offer.
