Had a wonderful experience with Dr. Dietz today…read more The first impression of his office is a great one. His staff are extremely friendly, and available to you are Coffee, Tea, and Water. The office itself is extremely sharp, modern, and clean. Each room has it's own flat screen which doubles as a computer monitor. The chairs are some of the most comfortable I have ever experienced in a Dentist's office, and also have a massage function. Dr. Dietz himself was highly professional, friendly, kind, and compassionate. His bedside manner was phenomenal, and he was very patient. Dr. Dietz uses a microscope that I have never seen used before during the surgery, that allows him to zoom in much further. The procedure itself was uncomfortable at times(as Root Canals are), but all in all I feel he did a very good job, certainly better than my previous Root Canal(done by a different Dentist). He was kind enough to call and check on me after hours, which I really appreciated. He squeezed me in as well, on a day he was booked. He obviously cares very highly about his patients. All in all a wonderful experience. I recommend him highly, if you are ever in need of the much dreaded Root Canal!

I called to make an appointment as a new patient and new referral from my current dentist. She was very frazzled on the phone responding very rudely when I was giving her my information. I felt like a huge inconvenience to her the whole conversation. They have a no scent/fragrance policy and she was basically practically yelling at me saying that you must follow these instructions because everybody keeps not following them .And then she told me that they do their own x-rays there. She stated that if I had any x-rays previously done that they wouldn't accept them because they will only take their own .And I told her I just had X-rays done a week ago and they were high-quality 3-D x-rays mind you. She said no that if the dentist needs a particular picture of a certain area, then he would have to take them .I then asked her if he will need to take further x-rays, will I be able to decline ?and she said no. If this is true this place is a ripoff.I canceled my appointment because of her rude responses her rude the way that she spoke to me was so unprofessional and I will never refer people to this establishment. .

When I arrived, I found I had been scheduled with Dr. Gerald Dietz rather than the referred doctor. Apparently, Dr. Shea only works there on Fridays, having a larger practice in Rochester. This turned out to be the second worst dental appointment of my life, surpassing only my first experience with a dentist at age 5 when the "child friendly" dentist tied me to the chair and stuck his finger down my throat to stop me from crying (apparently it scared the other children). Dr. Dietz did neither of these things, but adminstered the most painful anesthetizing shots I have ever had, and did not schedule enough time for the entire root canal, necessitating a second appointment a week later. The root canal was properly done, and after insisting on speaking with him about his injection methods, the second appointment was not particularly traumatic. I know I was terrified at the idea of a root canal, which turned out to be no big deal once the pain killers were working, so I take some responsibility for being tense. I did, however, explain this in advance multiiple times to EVERYONE in the practice, as well as the doctor. He was uncommunicative and seemed rushed. I will not return.

Short story: Dr. Askar is highly skilled, is compassionate and his staff is top notch! If you…read moreneed an endodontist Dr. Askar should be the doctor you see! Long story: I was sent to Dr. Askar on an emergent basis after seeing my regular dentist at the end of a day. Dr. Askar and his team stayed late to see me. He determined after the scans that I had 2 teeth that were cracked and the roots were inflamed which was the reason I was in so much pain and I required root canals. I have been blessed with good teeth to date and wasn't familiar with this procedure and was a little unnerved. Dr. Askar thoroughly explained the procedure and the reasons they needed to be done, which allowed me the confidence that it was the right course of action. Bree, his office manager, reviewed the cost of the procedure with me, so I knew exactly what this would cost since I don't have dental insurance. Two hours later, I emerged from his office and was in no pain and was scheduled to come back in one month for the final work to be done. Post procedure, I received daily calls from his staff checking with me to see how I was doing. After several days I was still very sore and was concerned something wasn't right. I called their office and they wanted to see me immediately. The staff did the scans again and everything was fine with the work that had been done, but I still had some slight swelling, which meant the back tooth was sitting a bit higher than normal. Dr. Askar used his equipment to take the tooth down slightly and I was able to be on way once again pain free and back to a weekend of celebrating for a family wedding. When I saw Dr. Askar for the final procedure, everything went smoothly. On both procedures it was nothing short of amazing to witness his dental assistants in action with him. Maria and Sara worked side by side with Dr. Askar and always had instruments ready to go as he did the procedure and were continuously checking with me to make sure I wasn't experiencing any discomfort. Not related to the procedure but definitely of note that really struck me as extraordinary, was after a month of seeing patients, he recalled that I had a family wedding that was occurring during the timeframe of my first procedure. This speaks to the fact that to Dr. Askar his patients are NOT just nameless numbers or dollar signs to him but people, and he cares about them!

They sent a text to fill out some forms online, which makes it easier to start the process. The staff did ask us to call our insurance rep to indicate we chose this facility for both of our cleaning to make it easier for processing the insurance and billing to us. I see why. I have been on the call on hold to speak to an agent for my insurance for over a half hour. My husband's appointment was the day before mine. He said he was in and out pretty quickly. The hygienist does the x-rays, but the dentist actually does the cleaning and the rest of the dental appointment. The dentist has an electric tool that they use for removing the plaque. He said it's a little discomforting if you're sensitive and can make you a little squirmy. There's also part of a procedure during the cleaning that's all heavy wear sunglasses to protect your eyes. My husband said the dentist has good bedside manners. The only uncomfortable part of the appointment was the electric tool used to remove the plaque. Mentally prepared me that I would probably find this uncomfortable as well. I really like that they have Saturday morning appointments, that worked out really well, since my work week is not ideal from 7 AM till 7 PM. It's located in a red brick, red roof building complex next to La-Z-Boy. Building D, nicely labeled on the outside of the building, to locate it easily. My appointment took a bit longer, since I had a chipped tooth from some sichuan food at a restaurant before the holiday. I arrived about 5 minutes before my appointment. Handed over my driver's license and my insurance card. There was a man behind the receptionist desk, he got up and a younger woman took my cards. She was making the appointments as well. The same woman after I asked if they were aware that I have a chipped tooth said they would take some X-rays. I was taken back to the hygiene room and fitted with the little wipe up napkin around my neck a few minutes before the start of my appointment slot. 8 minutes after my appointment time the hygienist was in and finished my X-Ray for my chipped tooth in less than 10 minutes. The dentist, Dr. Nikki came to the hygiene room about 20 minutes after the start of my appointment. She used the electric plaque tool, while the hygienist held the suction vacuum and irrigation. Then the doctor used the paste to clean my teeth. More X-rays done 40 minutes in. There was a bit of confusion for my first appointment. It was put down for the chipped tooth only. So my cleaning was first. I would have to wait a little while the dentist to finish another patient's resin appointment before my chipped tooth could he looked at and polished smooth. The sugar and acid poster is interesting, especially to see battery acid listed at the bottom of the list. I have watched my strange addiction, so I guess it happens. My teeth look good, just the chipped pre molar. Perfectly aligned too. Not to shabby. She asked if I floss every day and brush every day, twice a day. I said yes at the least. She asked if I use an electric toothbrush. I said a Sonicare. In another room adjacent to another exam or procedural room with only the chair blocked off by a partial wall. This room has slightly newer chairs. Looks like there are air filters in every exam room. Dr. Nikki is back by to me a little after an hour of my appointment start. She was quick and finished smoothing out my pre molar in less than 5 minutes. It's so rare that the dentist is part of most of your appointment and cleaning. Dr. Nikki does have good bedside manners. A few times I couldn't understand her, but she's nice and informative. The building and facility is a bit older, maybe 20-30 or more years old. Dr. Nikki and the staff are warm and welcoming. Out the door after an hour and 10 minutes, not too bad considering I had more than a cleaning done today. My teeth feel nice and clean.
