Fine. Somehow, the insurance company did not pay them directly (has never happened in 5 years Ive had this insurance) and so I ended up owing them $651. Due to the pandemic I ended up experiencing a financial hardship but I scrounged to pay them what I could which was $600 (the business manager who contacted me was super rude but whatever). Last month, without receiving any reminders about the remaining bill they sent the $51 to collections. Imagine that: After getting at least $4,000 from me, they send a $51 bill to collections during a pandemic when folks like me are still recovering. They are good in dental work but a little ruthless in business.

They were SO kind and helpful during each visit. They treated him with respect and understanding; and made sure to take the utmost care in his pain levels. No other doctor behaves this way. They always bill you after. No reason for him to do this except the obvious, I'm black and he didn't think I could afford to pay. Also, told me that the procedure was not covered by insurance so I paid and then nearly a year later billed my insurance company for the same procedure. I was told that what he did was not insurance fraud, he just ripped me off. When I asked for my records and bill I was told I'd get them, but never did. Stay away. My extraction sites are healing extremely quickly ,and the infection is eliminated.My eye is starting to heal,and my blood pressure is back to normal!!! There was another negative review by someone else about Dr. Adams and his use of the DNA appliance, and that also appears to have been removed. I hope people don't rely solely on Google reviews. According to another reviewer, her negative review was removed there and followed immediately by a stellar review. Here, again, is my review. I was oversold on the DNA appliance by Dr. Gary Adams. It cost $10K, and made no visible change -- which is what I came to him for. My back teeth are somewhat better aligned, but I never would have paid for that since I had no functional issues. He never told me that this appliance is used exclusively for people with sleep apnea and TMJ, neither of which I have. (His website at the time I sought treatment didn't indicate this either; it focused on the appliance's ability to grow bone.) I used the appliance exactly as prescribed -- I was trying to correct a slight underbite -- and it did absolutely nothing. My smile and bite look exactly like they did before. I hope this review keeps other people from making the same mistake I did.

Once I made her aware of the mistake, she tried to charge me additional procedures that are covered by insurance. She failed to provide insurance company the proper information and the claims were denied. But none of this was ever mentioned until I requested a refund for the over payment. I contacted the insurance company and requested that they speak to her and explain to her how to send in a proper claim. The insurance company informed me that claims were being submitted a 1-2 weeks after office visits.

He felt like an old school honest dentist. For the appointment in summer 2011, he sat me down to give a second opinion on cavities. When he sat me down, I gave him my x-rays, and he put them in the lamp, and showed me my teeth closely. After inspecting them, he looked in my mouth and closely inspected them. The only thing he saw was a tooth that has a unique but normal enamel formation. There were no cavities. So he said that they will send a reminder to come back for a check up in six months, and that I had no cavities. However, he did notice that my wisdom teeth needed to be removed, and recommended that I have the two top ones removed, and gave a recommendation to another oral surgeon, Joseph Devylder, who is another great dentist.
