The staff prefer that their animals die as food and live a miserable life, then be rescued and taken into a home, even if that only means living for a short while. This independently owned pet shop is packed to the ceiling with pet supplies and accessories…read more Mostly these items cater to fish, turtles, lizards, small animals and birds as there is an adjacent Veterinarian who carries specialty dog and cat foods. Animal Kingdom's owner is in the shop all the time and is extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the items he carries. There is a nice aquarium wall full of fresh water fish, an area toward the back of the store with some really beautiful birds and a small selection of reptiles on the left hand side of the store. Although the store carries fresh water fish, there are also saltwater fish supplies, including frozen fish foods. I really liked this owner and could see he was passionate about the animals and how to take care of them. This is the kind of neighborhood business you really want to see succeed. When I went inside this shop a little girl was showing her Guinea Pig to the owner, which was the kind of energy this business and business man project. The caption under the web name on his website says, 'your neighborhood pet store'. This tells me that this owner shares this same community sentiment. NOTE ON CUSTOMER SERVICE: The owner will wheel and deal with you as well on products which I love!! And he expressed to me that if there was any pet product that was not in the store he would be able to order it for me and have it in the store within a couple of days. THAT willingness to do whatever it takes to make a patron happy IS CUSTOMER SERVICE at its finest!

I know that pet shops don't smell like roses, but this place is the worst I have ever seen. I went in to look at a puppy. While the manger at this location recommended to put him down and get a necropsy which we had to pay for ($1300) plus the $2200 at the vet er, she also told my husband that we'd get our money back. At one point they stated they could offer us another animal of the same value but have also retracted that statement. I fully believe they knew our puppy was having seizures before we got him. This place is screwed up. I'd rather go to court than pay off the rest of a dog we had to put down.
