First I called Red Rock Harley and asked how much to install a set of Viking hard saddlebags, they said it would run about $450 to &550 and I said I'd call around first. I got quotes from $450 to "we'll see" but there hourly rates were $150 per hour. Once I got around to calling Sam's Cycle they quoted me $300 to $400 so I asked if they had ever done these on a Harley Softail Deluxe and they said sure. I asked how long it would take and they said anywhere from 3 to 5 hours. So obviously I set up an appointment for the following morning. They said it would be done by close of business. Awesome right? This was Tuesday morning. I waited for the call to pick up the bike. Tuesday went by, Wednesday went by and Thursday morning went by! So I decided to call them Thursday afternoon. They said it was almost finished and how difficult it was to do. A lot of excuses. Right? So I asked what the total bill was and they said $763.29!!! I didn't say anything, we just went to pick it up. When we got there I (obviously) asked why it took WAY longer than 3 to 5 hrs and WHY the bill was so high. They gave many more excuses saying the hardware was wrong and the mechanic had to go to the store to get ones that fit and they had to drill (which I told them from the start) and a bunch of other excuses. I was obviously angry, I asked about a Veterans discount. They didn't offer one. And if I didn't pay they would keep the motorcycle until I either paid or they would sell it for the bill! VERY unprofessional!! I will NEVER go back!!! I gave 2 stars because they did do a fantastic job. read more

I took it up with them with proof of the damages and the invoice to get reimbursed for only the damage done for them to act childish. They tried to hold my bike hostage when I try to have it towed to a different shop. They will overcharge you and damage your bike. I have a 94 Magna that needed a new rear tire. Lots of shops will not work on a 94. I called around and got quotes for a tire buy and install as high as $485, which is ridiculous for a tire I can buy inline for $185. I called Sam and he was nice over the phone. He quoted me $279 for the tire and I asked if that was installed. He said sure bring the bike down and we'll install it for you. I went down that day and ordered the tire with $100 deposit. I had to wait a week for my next day off in order to get the tire installed. That's on me because the tire had to be ordered. To be clear, I am not unhappy with the work they did and Sam seems like a good enough guy. I just wish they would have been up front with the $100 labor on the install. Another annoying thing was the $4 charge for a valve stem after I paid a pretty good markup on the tire itself and the labor. So out the door I paid $370.53 Which was about $100 more than I was expecting. Since I'm new to the area I'm not sure if I will use this shop again. read more

I love Sam and this shop. I go out of my way to do business here to support this small shop. I've never had anything but great experiences and don't expect anything else. Prior to making the Sturgis Run in 2021 (I rode mine) I asked Sam to just do a "once over" on the bike to make sure no issues. He actually found some loose components that could have created a serious problem for me and definitely showed that they cared about my bike and knew what I was asking for. 03/03/2021 After reviewing Sam's cycle last month,,, I got no response from Sam or anyone from the shop that would be concerned that my Bike was not repaired properly and not rideable after spending my hard earned MONEY and after having other work previously done at this shop, I seem to have been kicked to the CURB 02/08/2022. My 2005 Honda vtx1800 has not been right since it left your shop,, Sam's Cycle Repair,,,,my turn signals are kriscrossed,, and tangled with my brake lights,,,,my left turn signal activates right rear light,, and activates the brake light on turn signal,, and license plate light,,,wires are backwards,, this could have been deadly for me,, also my stop engine red switch ,, if you tap on the handle bars the engine shuts off ,, this is also a killer,, just a bump in the road causes the bike to shut off,, what happen ,, It's a short in my electrical system and why was my bike Flagg as ready,, when I picked it up no one said anything like,, be careful your blinkers are backwards,, I never had and problems with my bike since I purchased it,, never, now I'm having electrical issues I never had before,,, I brought it in for check my bike,, it ends up being fuel pump at a cost of $1,000 ,, ok when I picked it up rode it two blocks my blinkers go out,,,,,What the H__LL,, ok Sam said bring it back took two weeks he calls me and says it's your turn signal relay,, ok he said it's gonna cost $70.00, wow I knew then something was wrong,, they shorted my bike out majorly and caused electrical problems,, I haven't been able to ride my bike since cause it just shuts off when you hit a bump or jar the Handel bars,,,plus turn signals are backwards,, I'm devastated,, brought this bike brand new in 2005 never any issues other than a battery or tires,,, they never should have said my bike was ready,,, I got screwed and he says bring it back,,,,,,,, well I'm scared to take it back,,, who worked on my bike,,, he's not a bike mechanic that's for sure,, I believe there was nothing wrong with my bike from the beginning maybe other than a blown fuse,,,,, so who can you trust,, not sure what to do at this point,, obviously gonna cost me more money$$$$$ things have changed ,,,VERY VERY UNHAPPY CUSTOMER Sent from the all new AOL app for iOS read more

I called ahead to see how much it would be to have my tires replaced. I told the gentleman on the phone I already had the tires on hand. When I reached the store the next day, the owner I'm assuming, told me to return my tires and buy them from him. I said no, I have them in my hand. Why would I do that? Now I told him when I dropped it off there was no oil I took it out. So I brought it to another place and they fixed it it was a bad bearing. Great service. Good places to take your toys to get worked on is hard to find. Sam's cycle has always been great and honest and doesn't try to rip people off by selling them stuff they dont need. They will be straight with you and tell you exactly what you need. They usually do have alittle bit of a wait maybe a couple days to a week or two but that is because they are good at what they do. I've been in Las Vegas with my Suzuki GS500F as the only mode of transportation. Just took it to Sams to have it serviced. The staff, and Sam himself, were very friendly. The shop carries mostly off-road cycle supplies, and some conventional bicycle supplies as well (for younger children), but they can service street bikes even. read more

If you're anywhere near Las Vegas and in need of motorcycle anything, GO HERE. These guys are the best. Period. This is my story: I recently rode my motorcycle from LA to Vegas to visit my mom, and on the way my right mirror/front brake handle assembly came loose as a result of the insane desert winds, thus making the 2nd half of my ride very dangerous. When I arrived I found that the top screw of this assembly had fallen out. Shit. Where the hell am I gonna find the right size replacement in Vegas I yelped motorcycle repair places and Sam's had good reviews so I give it a shot on the Sunday afternoon of my visit. The wiry/scruffy/friendly gentleman who works there helped me right away, and after a minimal amount of searching had the exact Allen screw that I needed. He then lent me the proper tool and walked me through remounting the assembly. In the course of examining the handlebars he points out that the real reason the assembly came loose is that the bars aren't perfectly round where it was tightened down, and needs to be repositioned to a part of the bars that are perfectly round, which means moving it in an inch. He suggests cutting the bars so everything lines up better, which was something I'd wanted to do since buying the bike because they're way too wide for me, but figured it was a massive expense. "How much?" I ask. "About $40" he answers. That's it? Ok. He then apologizes that it can't be done today because they're short staffed on Sundays, but says that if I come back right when they open the next day (9am), he'll come in early and take care of it. Excellent, i think, because I need to get back to LA ASAP the next day as I have an audition in the afternoon. We shake on it. Inside the shop he explains the situation to a man I take to be his boss, who laughs at the idea of the wiry gentleman coming in early. He responds by offering to buy breakfast if he's late. I arrive at 9am the next day and the wiry gentleman is... late. His boss greets me and I jokingly tell him to order me an egg McMuffin. He's texting his tardy employee when the man walks in through the back door. I bring the bike around back and he goes to work. A few minutes in I remember that my throttle is a little wobbly, and tell him so. He says it needs a new throttle tube and goes on another search for the correct part. The shop doesn't have one, but his dad does. Conveniently his dad lives 5 minutes away. He hops on a scooter and returns 15 min. later with a $10 throttle tube that is an exact match. By 10:45 the job is totally done. I go in to pay and the boss man charges me for a 1/2 hour of labor: $35. Plus $10 in cash to the guy's dad for the tube. $45 total???? THAT"S IT???? They coulda charged me $200 and I'd've never known the difference. But they didn't cause they're a stand up place. And when all was said and done the boss man asks me if I still wanted my egg McMuffin. I feel like they probably didn't believe me when I declined on account of needing to get back to LA ASAP, but that really was the truth. I woulda loved to have stuck around and eaten Mickey Ds with those dudes and shot the shit, seriously. Cool guys AND honest mechanics. GO HERE, ALWAYS. read more
